Chapter 12: I Dare Not Lie
Physician Fang took a deep breath as if he had made a momentous decision. Then, under Li Qinghe’s watchful gaze, he slowly began to speak.
“The… the Eldest Princess has a physical ailment. It is not easy for her to have children!”
After saying this, Physician Fang’s face turned several shades paler. He didn’t look like he was lying at all.
Of course, although Li Qinghe had her doubts, seeing Physician Fang’s look of impending doom, she ultimately believed his words.
“Is what you said true, Physician Fang?”

“Physician Fang…” she paused for a few seconds before continuing, “the antidote for the Soul-Devouring Medicine, is it still in your possession?”
“Take it out.”
The Soul-Devouring Medicine required a specific incense to be activated to its full potential, but there was no guarantee that something wouldn’t go wrong. Only by having the antidote in her own hands could she feel at ease. Coincidentally, the medicine had an aphrodisiac effect. She wanted to see if her dear older sister was truly as incapable as Physician Fang claimed.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Physician Fang immediately took the antidote for the Soul-Devouring Medicine from his robes.
After parting ways at the pavilion, Jun He felt something wrong with his body behind the rockery. It wasn’t just him; his trusted aide, Chang Jian, who was by his side, sensed it too.
“Your Highness, what’s wrong?” Chang Jian quickly reached out to support him.
Jun He’s eyes suddenly turned an abnormal shade of crimson, the corners moist.
“Despicable!”
The veins on the back of his fair hands bulged, showing the immense effort he was exerting to endure. Chang Jian looked on, completely bewildered.
Under the drug’s influence, Jun He soon revealed his true form. The massive body of a white snake thrashed wildly behind the rockery, damaging the surrounding flowers and trees.
From the pavilion not far away, Li Xuanyue, who had not yet left, naturally felt the commotion from behind the rockery. She frowned slightly.
“It’s not good, Princess! Shijun Jun is in heat!” A maidservant ran out from behind the rockery, her face etched with panic, and knelt before Li Xuanyue to report.
The sounds of turmoil from behind the rockery continued.
Li Xuanyue didn’t just sit by. In a few quick steps, she and Yinxin rushed to the scene.
Under the influence of the Soul-Devouring Medicine, Shijun Jun had already lost his senses. His enormous snake body thrashed about, creating a deafening noise. No one dared to approach.
“Your Highness the Princess.”
Upon seeing Li Xuanyue, Chang Jian looked as if he had found his pillar of support and hurriedly bowed to her.
At this moment, Li Xuanyue had no time to pay him any mind. She took out a pill. Just as Shijun Jun raised his head, opened his serpentine mouth, and launched a fierce attack towards her, she used the momentum to flick the pill from her fingers into his mouth.

In less than a minute, the white snake that had been soaring in the garden crashed to the ground with a loud “thud.”
“Your Highness! Your Highness!” Chang Jian cried out, rushing forward.
In the blink of an eye, Shijun Jun’s white snake form instantly reverted to his human shape. His face was still flushed a deep red.
“Don’t worry,” Li Xuanyue said, looking down at Chang Jian and then at the unconscious Jun He on the ground. Her voice was low and ambiguous.
“He’s fine. He’ll be alright after some sleep.”
Chang Jian didn’t seem to catch the hidden meaning in her words. He looked back at her and said, “Thank you, Your Highness.” He clasped his hands together, expressing his gratitude.
“Don’t thank me so soon,” Li Xuanyue said coolly, not accepting his thanks. “First, carry him to my Fenghe Palace.”
“This…” Chang Jian looked troubled.
Li Xuanyue paid no mind to his thoughts and spoke in a cold tone, “What? Did you not hear what this princess just said? Or do you want him to die here?”
Chang Jian’s eyes widened in shock.
“He has been poisoned with the Soul-Devouring Medicine, which forcibly induced his heat and revealed his true form,” Li Xuanyue explained. “If the poison isn’t neutralized immediately, he will be controlled by it and enter heat again and again until his body withers and he dies.”
The pill she had just given him was merely to make him fall asleep instantly. As for the antidote, although Physician Fang had already given it to her, she didn’t carry it with her at all times. Firstly, she didn’t want it to be discovered. Secondly, the back garden was full of people, and among them were undoubtedly Li Qinghe’s spies watching her. If she wanted to detoxify Jun He, she had to bring him back to her territory. It absolutely could not be exposed in front of everyone.
“You’re awake?”
When Jun He regained consciousness, the corners of his eyes were still red, and his mind was in a state of confusion. But when his gaze met Li Xuanyue, who was standing nearby, a sense of vigilance rose in his eyes.
“No need to be nervous.”
Li Xuanyue saw the defensiveness in Shijun Jun’s eyes clearly.
“This princess won’t do anything to you.” She nonchalantly lifted her robes and sat down to the side.
Jun He didn’t believe her.
“You’ve been poisoned with the Soul-Devouring Medicine!”
A sarcastic expression crossed Jun He’s face, as if to say, Didn’t you poison me yourself? What’s with the hypocrisy?
If it were the Li Xuanyue from her past life, seeing such an ungrateful expression would have sent her into a rage. But now, she thought about and handled things differently. She felt that it wasn’t unreasonable for Shijun Jun to be wary of her.
Everyone in the Hundred Clans knew she was vicious and lecherous. No man she set her sights on could ever escape her grasp. If it weren’t for her recurring bouts of madness, the number of Shijun and Xiao Shi in her palace would be far more than just a dozen. It would have been countless.
“Although this princess did not administer the poison, you were poisoned because of me.” Li Xuanyue made no attempt to defend herself. She simply stated the facts of his poisoning to him.
“Of course, this princess knows you don’t believe me.” Li Xuanyue didn’t expect him to believe her right away. After all, she was well aware of how terrible her reputation was.
“But it doesn’t matter. Tonight, this princess will be staying here with you.”
Jun He’s eyes widened instantly, and his handsome face flushed a deep red.
