Chapter 48: Pregnant?
After resolving the issue with Zhao Chuan, Li Xuanyue intended to let Yao Guang return to his Yaohua Hall to rest. But before she could speak, Yinxin walked in from outside the hall.
“Princess, Consort Jun is here.”
Li Xuanyue looked puzzled.
What is he doing here at this time?
Shouldn’t he be at Junhe Hall waiting for Divine Doctor Liu to administer acupuncture?
A dark glint flashed in Yao Guang’s brownish-grey eyes.
“Since Consort Jun has business with the Princess, this subject will retire first.”
His mellow voice sounded somewhat weak.
He then put down the unfinished tea in his hand, stood up, and raised his hands in a salute to Li Xuanyue.
Li Xuanyue saw his weak complexion and didn’t think much of it, nodding without asking him to stay. “Alright, go back and rest then.”
Her Consort Yao looked like he might break at the slightest touch.
Li Xuanyue naturally wouldn’t stop him from going back to rest.
As long as he didn’t faint in front of her.
Yao Guang lowered his eyes. As he and He Zhao walked out of Fenghe Hall together, they ran into Jun He at the main entrance.
Seeing the urgency between his brows, Yao Guang understood everything.
Yao Guang nodded slightly and smiled at him first.
Since they held the same rank, there was no need for grand formalities.
Seeing this, Jun He nodded back and strode inside.
He Zhao watched Consort Jun’s retreating white-clad figure, confusion filling his heart.
“Young Master, have you noticed that the Third Prince of the Snake Clan seems to be very close to Princess Xuanyue?”
Look at his hurried steps just now.
Anyone who didn’t know better would think something had happened to Li Xuanyue in Fenghe Hall.
Yao Guang’s eyes darkened slightly. “Perhaps.”
This Third Prince of the Snake Clan was in such a hurry.
He was probably afraid that he would have untoward designs on Li Xuanyue.
After all, Li Xuanyue’s first time had been taken by him.
It was understandable that he didn’t want another man to touch her.
Yao Guang lowered his gaze.
“Remember to find someone to personally see that Consort Zhao off later.”
Yao Guang wasn’t a benevolent saint.
Since Zhao Chuan dared to oppress him, he naturally wouldn’t let him off so easily.
He Zhao’s eyes flickered. “Yes!”
“This subject greets the Princess!”
Jun He stood in the center of the grand hall, dressed in white robes.
Although his figure still looked somewhat thin, his complexion was much rosier than before.
Li Xuanyue glanced up at him lightly. “Is there something you need, Consort Jun?”
Her expression was cold.
Evidently, she hadn’t forgotten about Jun He bullying her during his heat.
Jun He frowned, clearly dissatisfied with Li Xuanyue’s cold attitude towards him.
“Can’t I come to see the Princess if I don’t have anything?”
Jun He’s tone carried a hint of mockery.
Li Xuanyue furrowed her willowy brows.
What did he mean by that?
Is he angry with her?
Clearly, she was the one who should be angry in this situation.
She hadn’t said anything and even generously had Divine Doctor Liu help him remove the golden needles sealing his twelve meridians.
What right did he have to be angry with her?
“What does Consort Jun mean by this?”
Li Xuanyue hated Jun He’s sarcastic mockery the most.
She spoke very directly: “If you have any dissatisfaction in your heart, say it directly. Don’t speak to this Princess with such a mocking tone.”
She wouldn’t harbor any illusions just because they had been intimate.
Just because they were husband and wife in name and deed.
She hadn’t forgotten that none of her five consorts had married her willingly.
They were all forced.
Even if they had been intimate, it was because of his heat.
She wouldn’t assume he would fall in love with her because of it.
Jun He naturally realized his reaction just now was too strong, so he restrained his emotions and spoke slowly.
“I heard the Princess just kicked out your former consort, Zhao Chuan, who lived in the Phoenix Clan, because of the Fourth Prince of the Wolf Clan, Yao Guang?”
Li Xuanyue was stunned, seemingly not expecting Jun He to come for this matter.
She nodded and admitted it without hesitation.
“Yes!”
She answered readily, without dragging her feet. “But he brought it on himself.”
“What? Does this Princess need to consult you, Consort Jun, before dealing with someone?”
Does he think that just because they were intimate, she has to listen to everything he says?
Li Xuanyue frowned. If that were the case, she would rather have never known this Consort Jun.
Jun He’s face turned ugly.
“In Princess Xuanyue’s eyes, am I such a person?”
Jun He didn’t bow his head and call himself a subject in front of Li Xuanyue.
Nor did he demean his status as a prince. Instead, he used his title as a prince to ask her directly.
He really wanted to know how she viewed their relationship.
Li Xuanyue looked at Jun He’s ashen face and suddenly realized her tone just now had been a bit harsh.
But as a princess, she couldn’t easily lower her pride.
The two of them stared at each other like this.
Finally, the conversation ended with Jun He turning and leaving in anger.
Li Xuanyue breathed a sigh of relief, only then feeling conflicted and sad.
Did she go too far just now?
She and Jun He could have talked properly.
But because she held a grudge over his heat earlier, she had messed everything up.
Sigh!
If she had known earlier, she wouldn’t have spoken so sharply.
Li Xuanyue regretted it so much she was about to pull her hair out.
Meanwhile, in Qihua Hall, Jun Mo received a letter from his mother, Empress Lin of the Snake Clan.
The letter told him that she would come to the Phoenix Clan in person in a few days.
She told him to be patient in the Phoenix Clan, and she would personally take him back to the Snake Clan then.
Learning this news from the letter, Jun Mo should have laughed out loud with joy.
But yesterday, Li Qinghe had sent an imperial physician to forcibly examine him.
And the result of the examination was that he was truly pregnant.
There was no need to wait a month.
This news didn’t need Li Qinghe to send people to spread it; the imperial physician reported it directly to Li Feng.
Upon learning this news, Li Feng happily waved her hand, and a stream of tonics was sent continuously to Qihua Hall.
Now, it was hard for everyone not to know.
“Come, have a piece of fruit!”
Li Qinghe happily picked up a piece of fruit and held it to Jun Mo’s lips.
Ever since she learned from the imperial physician yesterday that he was pregnant, the smile on her lips hadn’t faded.
One could imagine what a great blessing Jun Mo’s pregnancy was for her.
Jun Mo ignored her and turned his head to the side. He felt like dying.
But Li Qinghe wouldn’t let him have his way.
Jun Mo couldn’t just die so cowardly.
He learned to ignore and be indifferent. No matter what Li Qinghe said in front of him.
He pretended not to hear anything.
This way, he wouldn’t anger himself to death, while the other party remained unaffected.
Li Qinghe didn’t mind.
Now that her goal had been achieved, she could endure however Jun Mo made things difficult for her.
As long as he didn’t cross her bottom line.
