Beast World: The Deranged Heroine is Entangled with Five Beastly Husbands chapter 63

Chapter 63: I Have One More Request

Li Feng frowned. “What is the meaning of this?”

Before Wuhua could speak, Li Xuanyue stepped forward to explain on her behalf.

“Mother Empress, Wuhua is not to blame. On the way here, your child suggested the Second Prince take a sedan chair, but he refused to accept it.”

“If you don’t believe me, you can ask him yourself.”

Jun Mo glared viciously at Li Xuanyue. Even if given another chance, he would make the same choice. What did that look of disdain on Li Xuanyue’s face mean?

Empress Lin hadn’t expected this. She felt her son was being foolish. Why not take the sedan chair if it was available? Why torture himself by walking?

Now, she couldn’t find fault with the Phoenix Clan even if she wanted to. The grievance was stuck in her chest.

“You child, why don’t you know how to cherish your own body?” Since she couldn’t blame the Phoenix Clan, she turned her gaze to Jun Mo.

“Look at how frail you are now. You cannot be so willful in the future.”

Jun Mo was Empress Lin’s only son. If something happened to him, how could she accept it?

Jun Mo frowned and scanned the hall.

“Mother Empress, where is Li Qinghe?”

That wretched woman harmed him so badly; did she think she could hide and let everything pass?

“Is the Second Prince looking for my good sister?” Li Xuanyue’s eyes glinted as she asked knowingly. “I’m truly sorry, but because her mistreatment of you was exposed, my good sister was just ordered by Mother Empress to receive eighty heavy strokes. She is currently kneeling in reflection at the Hall of Supreme Harmony.”

Don’t ask why Li Xuanyue knew so clearly. Everything was within her expectations. Li Qinghe’s fate was entirely of her own making.

Jun Mo looked surprised; he hadn’t expected Li Feng to act so quickly. But thinking of his own suffering, a cold sneer rose in his heart.

Eighty strokes? Could that offset the pain he endured?

“Mo’er, rest assured. With Mother Empress here today, no one can bully you,” Empress Lin said solemnly, holding Jun Mo’s hand.

Everyone could tell these words were meant for the Phoenix Clan. If they hadn’t allowed this to happen, how would Li Qinghe have dared to treat a Snake Clan prince this way? Ultimately, it was the Phoenix Clan’s fault.

“Then how does the Phoenix Empress plan to deal with Li Qinghe in the future?” Jun Mo suddenly asked.

A simple eighty strokes was too light for Li Qinghe. It wouldn’t serve as a warning at all; it would only make her worse in the future. Jun Mo didn’t just want her beaten; he wanted her life.

Li Feng’s eyes darkened. “I have already discussed this with your Mother Empress. From now on, Qinghe is forbidden from using drugs to control you.”

“Of course, you cannot use the absence of drugs as an excuse to harm her. Are you satisfied with this arrangement?”

Jun Mo was clearly shocked. He looked sideways at Empress Lin.

“This was my proposal,” Empress Lin whispered in his ear, her voice audible only to him. “In your current condition, I fear you cannot return to the Snake Clan.”

Jun Mo’s face turned deathly pale.

Empress Lin desperately wanted to take Jun Mo back to the Snake Clan immediately. But she knew she couldn’t decide this alone. It concerned the alliance between the two clans. Taking Jun Mo away rashly would freeze relations again.

That was why she chose to endure, ensuring Li Qinghe could no longer control Jun Mo with drugs. Seeing Jun Mo’s face pale further, Empress Lin felt pain and sorrow, but she couldn’t be willful; she had to consider the bigger picture.

“But don’t worry. Your Imperial Father said that once you give birth to the heir, he will personally send someone to bring you back.”

Empress Lin hurried to comfort him before he could explode. This was why she hadn’t continued to make a scene. The Snake King had made a deal with her before she came: if she didn’t cause trouble in the Phoenix Clan, he would find a reason to bring Jun Mo back after the child was born. Otherwise, with her temper from centuries ago, she would have turned the Snake Palace upside down by now.

Across from them, Li Xuanyue watched Jun Mo’s face turn white bit by bit. A glint appeared in her eyes; she guessed what Empress Lin had told him.

She turned to Jun He beside her and smiled faintly. “It seems your Second Brother’s hope of returning to the Snake Clan is about to be dashed.”

Her tone carried both mockery and a hint of amusement.

Jun He lowered his eyes, then looked up at Jun Mo across the room.

Jun Mo happened to look up at the same moment. The two locked eyes for a few seconds.

Then, Jun He withdrew his gaze indifferently. Jun Mo, however, was nearly enraged to death by the dismissal.

That trash. What is he so smug about? Does he think I don’t dare touch him just because I’m in a precarious situation?

“Mo’er!” Empress Lin called out, seeing him silent for so long, fearing the blow was too great.

Jun Mo snapped out of his rage at her voice. His expression was complex.

“Phoenix Empress, this subject has one more request.”

Without waiting for Empress Lin to ask what was wrong, Jun Mo walked to the center of the hall and knelt.

Li Feng had to let him speak, if not for his sake, then for Empress Lin’s.

“Speak!” Li Feng waved her hand grandly.

Li Xuanyue looked at Jun Mo with curiosity, wondering what request he would make. Given his situation, as long as it wasn’t excessive, Li Feng would likely agree.

Suddenly, Jun Mo looked toward Li Xuanyue and Jun He.

The look baffled Li Xuanyue. This lunatic wants to make a request; why is he looking at me and Jun He? Does his request involve us?
