Chapter 77: Following Li Xuanyue Ensures the Truth
So he decided to give it a try.
Li Xuanyue furrowed her brows slightly. “But you should know that was several months ago.”
“Furthermore… I didn’t actually ask you all to do anything in the end.”
She paused for a few seconds, observing Zhong He’s expression. Seeing his face darken as expected, she emphasized her point.
The implication was: Trying to negotiate with me using that old matter won’t work.
“However…”
These words immediately caught Zhong He’s attention.
His glazed eyes fixed tightly on her.
The last person to stare at Li Xuanyue like that was Jun He, but that was a long time ago. Now, being stared at by a grown man like Zhong He made her feel slightly shy and nervous.
“Ahem!”
She brought her fist to her lips, coughed lightly, and continued slowly.
“You are my Consort. Considering that we are husband and wife, I can send someone to bring my mother-in-law here, so you mother and son can meet and reunite for a few days.”
Zhong He’s heart had been in turmoil. He knew his request was excessive. But at this critical juncture, he had no other choice but to be direct.
He hadn’t expected Li Xuanyue to refuse. Though disappointed, he understood.

Yin Xin was her right-hand woman; handling such matters was well within her capabilities.
Zhong He’s expression was complex. For a moment, he didn’t know whether to praise Li Xuanyue for her cleverness or her attention to detail.
Regardless, he had truly wanted to see his mother through her help. Now, not only did she help him realize this wish, but she also personally acknowledged his mother as her mother-in-law.
This meant Li Xuanyue didn’t look down on him or despise him.
He pursed his lips. It would be a lie to say his heart didn’t feel a strange stir.
“Thank you, Princess.”
Zhong He bowed deeply. When he raised his head again, the gaze he directed at Li Xuanyue was visibly softer.
Due to her fatigue, Li Xuanyue didn’t notice this. she closed her eyes.
“I am tired.”
Her voice carried a tone of exhaustion as she waved her hand at him. “If Consort Zhong has nothing else, you may leave.”
However, that very night, someone heard mournful wailing coming from Xihe Hall.
This was something that had never happened since Hua Shan moved into Xihe Hall.
So, when Li Xuanyue woke up the next day, she heard quite a few rumors about Xihe Hall from the maids.
“Did you know? There was constant crying in Xihe Hall last night. I heard it scared away quite a few maids.”
“Really? were you on duty at Xihe Hall last night?”
Just after washing up, Li Xuanyue saw two maids whispering in a corner of Fenghe Hall.
Her eyes darkened. Although they spoke quietly, cultivators had naturally keen senses. No matter how softly they whispered, Li Xuanyue could hear them.
Seeing this, Yin Xin frowned and wanted to step forward to scold them, but Li Xuanyue stopped her with a hand.

“This servant suspects he might have been detained.”
Xihe Hall was Hua Shan’s territory. Xiao Han used to be Hua Shan’s man and was intimately familiar with everything there. The only person who could detain him was Hua Shan; there could be no other.

“Princess!”

“Is the Princess going to the Prince Consort’s place?”
