Chapter 10 part 1
Luo Shizhen wilted.
When entering the school, he looked utterly despondent, head hanging low, dragging his feet, his whole body radiating resistance.
Qin Yinian watched with amusement. It was his first time seeing the hard stone eat humble pie.
“Isn’t it just gender segregation? Is it that serious? There are no girls in the school, but there are girls outside. The higher-ups stop Awakeners from dating each other, but they don’t stop Awakeners from being with ordinary people.”
Luo Shizhen blushed at his guess and said in a muffled voice:
“I’m not doing this because I want to date!”
Okay, he did want to date. Before his grandmother passed, she constantly nagged, hoping he would grow up safe and sound, stay healthy, get into college, find a stable job, marry a nice girl, and have a child. That was her greatest wish.
Getting into college seemed impossible now.
But Luo Shizhen’s plan for dating and marriage was for after high school graduation.
He couldn’t date in high school; that was puppy love. The teachers would be angry, and it would affect his studies.
The romance he imagined was having mutual affection during high school, then confessing and being together after both got into college.
Awakener School was different. Although it was a school, Mr. Chen said everyone here was an adult, eighteen or nineteen years old. Dating should be allowed.
Although Awakeners sounded like they would swing from vines, at least they were practically still human.
Chu Xiao was an Awakener too. Aside from going crazy in the bathroom earlier, he hadn’t changed much the rest of the time.

The girls knew he had been bullied by boys. If those boys came looking for him, the girls would fiercely scold them back together. During junior high, Luo Shizhen’s sense of security was basically given by the female classmates.
Later, entering high school, Chu Xiao originally said he would skip a grade to attend high school with him. But for some reason, he later said he didn’t want to skip, and then took a year off due to illness.

“Look at you, studying all day and reading bitterly all night, yet you’re not as good as me just studying casually. Why bother studying? Come out and play with me.”
Luo Shizhen was so angry he ignored the school rule against fighting and head-butted him out of the dorm.
Later, the teacher was alerted. Luo Shizhen, feeling incredibly wronged, listed Zhang Chuan’s intentional obstructions to his studies one by one.
At the time, the teacher severely criticized Zhang Chuan, while Zhang Chuan pretended to be innocent the whole time.
“I just wanted to play with Luo Shizhen.”
Luo Shizhen’s tone was furious then. He had a mild temperament and rarely got so angry, which showed how excessive Zhang Chuan had been:
