Finally, class was about to begin!
Although it was a combat class, Luo Shizhen felt that having trained under his Big Brotherās guidance for a full day, he could consider himself to have “reviewed the coursework.”
New student, new start. He was determined to study hard and strive to no longer be dead last!
Secretly cheering himself on, Luo Shizhen stepped into the classroom.
The moment he entered, he saw Chu Xiao waiting by the door and immediately greeted him happily:
“Chu Xiao!”
At the same time, most of the students, sensing the aura of a strange Awakener, looked over.

These young Awakeners were all about the same age and looked like celebrities who had just walked off a TV screen. Though their temperaments differed, without exception, they were all so good-looking that it was hard to look away.
Luo Shizhen, being the object of their attention, had never seen so many beautiful people in one space in his entire life.
He was stunned into staring.
The next second, Xiao Shan stepped in front of him, his tall figure shielding Luo Shizhen completely.
His gaze was cold as he met the eyes of these Awakeners, looking like a beast protecting its cub.
Chu Xiao made the same move, though his gaze was much fainter, yet his eyes held a similar silent warning.
“Jijigugu!”
The Little Spirit Sprite, who had been sleeping in a leaf on the podium, was startled awake and looked at the scene before it in terror.
To humans, Qi was invisible, but to Spirit Sprites, it was crystal clear.
In the classroom, the students seemed to be sitting peacefully in their original spots without moving.
But the Qi on their bodies had transformed into gases of various colors, like baring-fanged, brandishing-clawed beasts, impatiently rushing toward the “newcomer” to leave their own scent on him and declare territorial sovereignty.
These aggressive waves of Qi were intercepted by the Qi of Chu Xiao and Xiao Shan, eventually turning into a chaotic free-for-all. The Qi no longer cared who was who, carrying violent energy as they tore and collided with each other in the air.
For a moment, the entire classroom was filled with a stifling and violent fighting intent.
“Jijigugu! Jijigugu!!”
How could the Little Spirit Sprite sleep now? It shivered in fear, crawling under the table and frantically slapping the person sleeping underneath with its short little hands.
Unfortunately, this person was still sleeping like the dead. Even though the sky outside was about to break and his body shook from being pushed, he merely rolled over and continued to sleep.
Luo Shizhen couldn’t see Qi. He just felt that as soon as he stepped into the classroom, he was inexplicably blocked by Xiao Shan.
Hearing the familiar “Jijigugu,” he squeezed half his body out from behind Xiao Shan and shouted in surprise:
“Big Yellow?”
“Jijigugu!!!”
Seeing Luo Shizhen was even more terrifying to the Little Spirit Sprite than seeing the sky full of fighting Qi.
It stopped shouting, slid to the ground with a whoosh, and its short legs once again became a blur as it sprinted out the window and fled.
“Eh?”
Luo Shizhen watched helplessly as Big Yellow ran away as if flying. He was incredibly confused. “Why is it running?”
He nudged Xiao Shan. “Big Brother, you’re blocking me. Why are you standing at the door and not going in?”
Xiao Shan was more confused than he was. “You don’t feel uncomfortable?”
Energy Users were extremely sensitive to Qi. Now that the room was full of Qi rushing and colliding wildly, logically speaking, Luo Shizhen should definitely feel discomfort.
“It is a little uncomfortable. How did you know, Big Brother?”
Luo Shizhen sniffled. “The air feels so stuffy, a bit breathless. It’s hard to breathe.”
This was already the reaction of an Energy User affected by Qi.
However, after saying this with a nonchalant face, Luo Shizhen concluded:
“Maybe my cold hasn’t healed yet, and my nose is stuffed up again.”
Xiao Shan was truly impressed.
Just how dense did Luo Shizhen have to be to interpret the suffocation caused by Qi influence as a stuffy nose from a cold?
What happened to Energy Users being sensitive and fragile?
Luo Shizhen didn’t take a small thing like a cold to heart. Although his brain wasn’t very sharp when he was young, his body was good and he never got sick. It was only after junior high that he slowly started having minor illnesses occasionally, but they didn’t affect much.
He just made a mental note to remember to take some cold medicine after class.
“Huh!”
He tugged on Xiao Shan’s arm. “Big Brother, there’s a person under the table!”
Xiao Shan looked back. Sure enough, from under the desk on the podium, a person stretched while crawling out.
He gave a grunt of acknowledgement. “Don’t worry about it. That’s the Vice Principal.”
The Vice Principal was very eye-catching.
The first thing Luo Shizhen saw was his silver-white long hair cascading down like a waterfall. The second thing he saw was the man’s appearance, which was simply like an immortal.
His eyebrows and eyes were picturesque, his light-colored pupils like a deep lake covered in a thin mist. Wearing a Taoist robe, he raised a faint smile.
“Students, you must control your Qi~ Otherwise, combat class will have to start early.”
His tone was gentle, but in his hand, he effortlessly hefted a rocket launcher.
Then, he skillfully shouldered it, aiming right at the students in the classroom.
Luo Shizhenās eyes went wide.
He tried hard to reach out and pulled Chu Xiao, who might get hit, toward the classroom door:
“Is that a real rocket launcher?”
Xiao Shan stared at the hand pulling Chu Xiao, wishing he could chop Chu Xiao’s arm off.
“Of course it’s real. If you don’t believe it, let Chu Xiao take a shot and test it.”
Behind them, Qin Yinian sauntered over slowly and saw the scene.
“Hah! Combat class is this exciting today?”
The image in Luo Shizhen’s mind of “teachers kindly teaching training movements” was replaced by an image of one rocket shot per person.
“Won’t something bad happen doing this?”
Qin Yinian knew what he was thinking just by looking at his expression and chimed in cheerfully:
“How could it? Awakeners aren’t that easy to kill. Are you scared? If you’re scared, call me Gege (Brother), and I’ll protect you.”
“No.”
Since he knew Awakeners wouldn’t be killed by a rocket launcher, Luo Shizhen was relieved.
He refused firmly: “I want to rely on myself.”
Xiao Shan was very satisfied that Luo Shizhen rejected Qin Yinian. He patted his shoulder: “It’s okay, Big Brother will protect you.”
Luo Shizhen remained firm. “No need, Big Brother. The school must have a reason for using rocket launchers to teach us. If I dodge, wouldn’t that be skipping class?”
Growing up, he had never skipped a single class, and he wouldn’t start now.
“Since I won’t die, I must face it bravely. Besides, it’s better to rely on oneself than on others. I want to rely on myself!”
Xiao Shan, who had taught him this saying yesterday: “…”
He realized that Luo Shizhen learned whatever he taught him, without filtering anything out.
The Vice Principal had already noticed Luo Shizhen. To be precise, he knew of Luo Shizhen’s existence from the start, but only now shifted his attention to him.
He slowly waved at Luo Shizhen. He looked entirely sleepy; despite carrying a rocket launcher so effortlessly, his voice was weak and lethargic.
“Come~”
Knowing he was the Vice Principal, Luo Shizhen immediately gave him the respect a Vice Principal deserved. Being called, he quickly and obediently went forward.
The Vice Principalās hand rested lightly on his shoulder, looking like he might fall asleep the next second:
“New student, introduce yourself… Yawn… I’m going back to sleep.”
“Oh, right.”
Before crawling back under the table, he turned back and glanced lazily at the students:
“The new student has the Purification ability and can’t withstand such violent Qi. You all watch it.”
Then, under Luo Shizhen’s dumbfounded gaze, he took the rocket launcher and slid back under the table as smoothly as if he had no bones.
This wasn’t just “under the table”; it was basically a basement entrance.
From Luo Shizhen’s angle, he could vaguely see a bed down there, a large desk beside the bed, and a lamp on the desk.
Luo Shizhen was confused. Luo Shizhen didn’t understand. But he was very good at rationalizing things.
Since he couldn’t figure out why the Vice Principal lived under the classroom, he simply stopped thinking about it.
Grandma had taught him that there are many strange people in this world, and he shouldn’t mind what others say or judge what others do.
