Can a Naive Man Be a Heartthrob in a Bizarre World? Chapter 7.2

Part 2

Luo Shizhen gestured a ‘2’ with one hand and held the bathroom mop between them with the other, explaining seriously:

“I was afraid you’d turn into a zombie and bite me. If you turned, I could use this mop to block your mouth.”

This was a little trick he picked up fighting the Flying Jiangshi last time. As long as the mouth was blocked, the zombie couldn’t bite him.

Chu Xiao looked at the dripping mop, obviously just used by a janitor.

“…You want to stuff a toilet mop into my mouth?”

Luo Shizhen looked at his expression and explained guiltily in a small voice:

“The bathroom only has a mop and a toilet brush. You love cleanliness; I couldn’t use the toilet brush…”

Chu Xiao didn’t know whether to thank Luo Shizhen for remembering he loved cleanliness.

“Put it down. I’m fine, and I won’t turn into a zombie.”

Luo Shizhen hesitated, stealing glances at Chu Xiao’s face. Only after receiving a cold glare did he reluctantly put the mop back in place.

Any lingering annoyance in Chu Xiao’s heart was washed away by Luo Shizhen’s stroke of genius.

He took a deep breath, pulling back to the main topic. “You saw it. That was a state of losing control. You can understand it as the beast nature overpowering humanity when an Awakener loses control. You don’t have this reaction yet, probably because you just awakened. You’ll know in time.”

“That’s why when we enter the Awakener School, we’ll be assigned massive amounts of training. It’s to drain our stamina. Exhausted Awakeners who can’t control themselves yet won’t be able to lose control.”

Listening, Luo Shizhen said blankly, “Sounds like raising a Husky.”

Chu Xiao was puzzled. “What?”

“You know, Zhang Chuan has a dog, a Husky. He says Huskies have too much energy and always tear up the house, so the nanny walks the dog for hours every day. Zhang Chuan says once the Husky’s energy is drained, it won’t tear up the house.”

Listening, veins almost popped on Chu Xiao’s forehead. “Luo Shizhen, are you saying I’m a dog?”

Luo Shizhen whispered, “No, I just said it’s a bit similar. And I like dogs very much; dogs are so cute and furry…”

Seeing Chu Xiao’s “what the hell are you saying” expression, he quickly changed the subject. “Right! Didn’t you want to go to the toilet?!”

“Is your leg okay? Should I help hold you?”

He naturally reached out to pull down Chu Xiao’s pants, but was dodged agilely.

Luo Shizhen was confused, looking at Chu Xiao, who had hopped far away on one leg. “What are you doing?”

“I should be asking you what you’re doing?”

Chu Xiao’s face flushed slightly. “Why are you taking off my pants?”

Luo Shizhen didn’t understand why he was acting like this.

“You’re going to the toilet; surely you have to take off your pants?”

Chu Xiao’s ears were red. His lips trembled a few times. “Even so, you don’t need to take them off.”

Luo Shizhen was bewildered. “If I don’t take off your pants, how can I help you hold your little bird?”

Then he saw Chu Xiao’s face explode into redness as if he had eaten a super chili pepper.

“Luo Shizhen! What nonsense are you talking about!”

Luo Shizhen felt aggrieved being yelled at. He didn’t know why Chu Xiao’s tone suddenly became so bad.

“If you don’t want help, fine. Why are you so fierce? You can yell at me if I do something wrong, but I’m just caring about you now. I can get angry too!”

He muttered:

“Didn’t you just say your leg hurts and you can’t stand steadily? If I don’t help you hold it, you’ll pee crooked. How unhygienic. I’ll have to clean it up in the end.”

In his mind, ignoring a dirty floor wasn’t an option. Luo Shizhen absolutely wouldn’t do something lacking public morality.

And since Chu Xiao’s leg was inconvenient, naturally, he would have to do the cleaning.

Chu Xiao blushed so hard he could cosplay Guan Yu. He opened his mouth to say something, then closed it.

Subsequently, he limped directly into a stall and slammed the door shut with a bang.

Luo Shizhen scratched his head, feeling a bit wronged. But he still cared about his friend, so he shouted:

“Then I’ll wait for you outside. If you can’t do it yourself, call me, and I’ll come help.”

Click. Chu Xiao locked the stall.

Luo Shizhen thought, Maybe this is the losing control Chu Xiao mentioned. He probably isn’t angry on purpose, just unable to control himself after becoming an Awakener.

Thinking this way, he wasn’t angry at Chu Xiao at all.

Actually, when Chu Xiao wasn’t losing his temper, he was quite nice to him. After all, they were childhood friends, and Chu Xiao often tutored him. So when he lost his temper, it was okay to be tolerant.

Luo Shizhen was comforting himself when he suddenly seemed to hear a light chuckle from behind.

It wasn’t Chu Xiao’s voice.

He looked left and right in confusion but saw no one. Embarrassed to knock on other stall doors, he could only continue waiting quietly for Chu Xiao.

Soon, Chu Xiao came out. He was back to his cold self and refused Luo Shizhen’s support. After washing his hands, he leaned on his crutch and went out first.

“Chu Xiao, walk slower, careful your leg might hurt!”

Seeing him walk so fast, Luo Shizhen feared he might fall and quickly chased after him.

After they left, the door of the innermost stall opened. A man tapped his finger, and an Awakener lying on the floor like mud levitated into the air. The Wood Spirits that had been pecking at him to clean the pollution quickly flew up to follow.

Feeling his body floating, the Awakener coughed and opened his eyes groggily.

Seeing the man, the Awakener laughed. “Sui An, it’s you. Did I have an episode again?”

The man stepped out. Behind him, the levitating Awakener followed, drifting like a balloon.

Sui An’s brows were sharp. He hadn’t changed out of his combat uniform yet. He looked like a lazy black panther, but everyone in Eternal Day knew he was far more terrifying than a panther.

“Heard you had an incident as soon as I got back. So, I came here non-stop.”

Though he said this, his pace remained unhurried, just like his tone.

“The episode wasn’t severe this time, but don’t take missions for the next two days. Your pollution level is very high; be careful of losing your mind completely.”

The Awakener flipped over in mid-air, still boneless.

“Not severe? How come I felt like I was hallucinating? I seemed to hear someone say something about holding a little bird.”

Obviously, Sui An couldn’t say such things, so it had to be a hallucination.

He was very self-aware. “God, why are my hallucinations so raunchy? I really am a raunchy person.”

Thinking of something, Sui An chuckled lightly. “Not a hallucination.”

“Huh? Don’t tell me you said it? I’m going to have nightmares.”

Sui An: “It was a little kid. Sounded like a new student at the school.”

The Awakener tried to open his eyes, failed, and simply closed them, chatting blindly:

“New student? Young people nowadays, getting raunchy at such an age?”

“I remember you are the new instructor for this batch. Hard to imagine what you’ll be like as an instructor. By the way, Sui An, do you know how to teach students?”

Sui An walked down the corridor, still dragging the Awakener like a balloon. Other Awakeners they met lowered their heads and moved aside.

“Shouldn’t be too hard.”

He thought of what Luo Shizhen said just now and raised an eyebrow.

“Training them like Huskies shouldn’t be difficult.”

The Awakener, who had turned to sleeping upside down: “?”

Husky? What Husky?

Ahead, several combat personnel froze upon seeing Sui An.

Sui An stopped and waved his hand. The Awakener floating in mid-air dropped into their hands.

They scrambled to catch him. Finding him alive, they sighed in relief. “Captain! Captain, did you have an episode again?”

Someone also thanked Sui An. “Inspector, thank you for bringing our Captain back.”

A teammate beside him quickly nudged his arm, whispering, “Don’t call him that. Call him Captain Sui.”

The person quickly corrected himself. “Captain Sui, we’ll take the Captain back first. Thank you again next time.”

Sui An seemed easygoing and waved his hand. “Go ahead.”

The combat personnel dragged their Captain away, running fast as if chased by dogs. Only after turning the corner did they breathe a sigh of relief.

“Why did you call him Inspector just now? Don’t you know he hates that title the most?”

“Seeing the Captain like that, I got anxious and forgot. I just thought ‘Inspector’ was the highest rank.”

“Why didn’t you remember the Inspector specializes in eliminating polluted Awakeners? Consider yourself lucky. Captain Sui has cultivated his character in recent years and has a much better temper than before. He won’t do anything over a title. I heard when he was young, he’d explode at a touch. Everyone hid far away seeing him. Unlike now, where he can even be an instructor for students.”

“Huh? Captain Sui teaching students? He’s so brutal with his own team. With students… won’t he play them to death?”

As they muttered, the semi-conscious Captain hiccuped.

“No… no discussing superior officers behind their backs.”

The combat personnel: “But Captain, don’t you discuss him often in private?”

Captain: “That’s in our team. Sui An is a Sequence 01 Awakener. You’ve only walked this far and started discussing… at this distance, he… he can hear it. Hic!”

Instantly, all team members were silent as chickens—

Determined that the members of the Third Brigade had stopped talking, Sui An walked down the long corridor, his black combat boots stepping on the ground, boredly measuring the distance of the floor tiles.

“Here!”

A voice he had heard not long ago came from ahead. Sui An looked up and saw Luo Shizhen, still wearing the No. 3 High School uniform, his smile full of pleasant surprise and reliance.

He ran towards Sui An with large strides, his clear, dark eyes full of pure trust.

Not like a Husky. Like a Samoyed.

Silly, but very eye-catching.

The Samoyed didn’t notice Sui An at all, brushed right past him, ran to another person, and called out cheerfully:

“Mr. Chen! Are we ready to go to the school? Chu Xiao and Qin Yinian are outside!”

Chen He’an put down the phone, smiled, and patted Luo Shizhen’s head. “Yes, let’s go.”

Sui An watched this scene of “benevolent teacher and filial student,” listening to Luo Shizhen obediently calling “Teacher this, Teacher that.”

Sui An, who had never attended Awakener School and had only led a bunch of violent team members who needed physical beating before they could speak a human sentence instead of barking madly, thought uncertainly:

Are students always this sticky?
