Chapter 156: Stealing Fragrance (11)
Xiao Ji was leaning by the window. Just as he finished listening to Pei Xinyun recite the last paragraph of the text, Pei Yinnian pushed the door open and walked in.
“Is it over?”
Their gazes met as Pei Yinnian asked.
Xiao Ji gave an “en.”
“How is the progress?” Pei Yinnian asked again.
Xiao Ji said bluntly, “It’s only the first day. There isn’t much progress.”
Hearing this, Pei Yinnian glanced at Pei Xinyun, who was still sitting in her chair without moving, and asked her:
“Do you plan to tutor for another hour?”
Pei Xinyun’s backside was numb. Xiao Ji wasn’t exactly serious, but he wasn’t humorous either. To put it bluntly, aside from the key points, he didn’t say a single word of nonsense. Not only was her rear numb, her brain was about to explode.
Hearing Pei Yinnian speak, Pei Xinyun quickly waved her hands and stood up.
“Brother, you see the Mister out. I’m going back to my room.”
With that, she hurriedly gathered her books, nervously thanked Xiao Ji and said her goodbyes, then fled in a panic.
Only Xiao Ji and Pei Yinnian remained in the study.
Pei Yinnian extended an invitation: “Have a drink with me.”
Xiao Ji didn’t refuse. He nodded and followed Pei Yinnian out of the study.
However, Pei Yinnian didn’t take Xiao Ji to the downstairs living room. Instead, he took him directly back to his own bedroom.
The Pei Residence was very large, and Pei Yinnian’s bedroom was almost an entire suite. It had a sofa, a coffee table, a rug, a fireplace, and a desk. The curtains were half-drawn, and the main chandelier wasn’t on; only an enamel desk lamp was lit.
Pei Yinnian made a “please sit” gesture toward Xiao Ji, took off his jacket, grabbed a bottle of red wine from the low cabinet, and sat beside Xiao Ji.
The sound of the wine hitting the glass was exceptionally clear in the quiet room.
He pushed a glass toward Xiao Ji, clinked his own against it, took a sip, and looked at Xiao Ji with a composed, gentlemanly air.
“I plan to send Pei Xinyun abroad in a couple of years. I wanted to learn from the Mister’s experience. Would the Mister be comfortable telling me about it?”
He asked seriously, and Xiao Ji answered seriously.
Xiao Ji wasn’t familiar with other places’ current situations, but based on the original host’s memories, there were indeed topics he could discuss.
“The current situation is unstable. Leaving one’s hometown to study abroad is no easy task. Young Master Pei should consider it carefully.”
Xiao Ji’s words carried a hint of sincerity. But whether he was recounting the original host’s experiences or analyzing the pros and cons, his tone was too calm and devoid of emotion.
This business-like attitude, reminiscent of a lecture, meant that Pei Yinnian didn’t actually hear a single word. All he could see were Xiao Ji’s beautiful lips opening and closing, filling his mind with the images of his intimacy with Xiao Ji from the night before.
His Adam’s apple bobbed. After finishing his glass, he said to Xiao Ji:
“I’ve found several doctors. Tomorrow morning, someone will go to your home to look at your sister.”
Seeing him suddenly change the subject, Xiao Ji knew he probably hadn’t been listening. He didn’t say more, only replying politely:
“Thank you.”
Pei Yinnian unbuttoned his shirt collar, exposing his prominent Adam’s apple to Xiao Ji’s view. He looked at him.
“Mister Xiao, we’ve only known each other for a few days, yet I’ve helped you with so many things. All I get from you is a lukewarm ‘thank you.’ Do I owe you something from a past life?”
Xiao Ji was very clear about his position now. He wouldn’t take the initiative; he only asked in return:
“How does Young Master Pei wish for me to repay him?”
Pei Yinnian was never a hesitant person. Since Xiao Ji dared to ask, he dared to act. He reached out, pressed the back of Xiao Ji’s head, and kissed him.
Tonight was in the Pei Residence, in Pei Yinnian’s bedroom—not in a hotel room where someone could walk in at any time. Compared to the hesitation of the night before, tonight’s Pei Yinnian was even more unscrupulous.
He kissed Xiao Ji, one hand resting on Xiao Ji’s waist, unfastening the buttons on the side of his gown and sliding his hand inside.
Seeing that Xiao Ji had no reaction, he used his other hand to grip Xiao Ji’s throat.
“Weren’t you quite open last night? Why are you acting all reserved in front of me now? Do I have to put a knife to your throat before you know what you’re supposed to do?”
Xiao Ji’s throat was held, but his expression didn’t change. Only his eyes held a complex, indefinable emotion.
He looked into Pei Yinnian’s eyes, reached up to touch Pei Yinnian’s cheek, and asked in a slightly raspy voice:
“Do you know what you want?”
Pei Yinnian didn’t know what Xiao Ji meant, nor had he ever carefully considered the question. He was the Crown Prince of Huating. His father was dead, and he had inherited the throne of a local warlord. What he said was law; what he wanted, he got.
He answered bluntly, “I want you.”
Xiao Ji suddenly exerted force, flipping Pei Yinnian over and pinning him against the sofa.
He took the initiative to kiss Pei Yinnian—from his lips to the side of his neck, then to his collarbone. He then tore at Pei Yinnian’s shirt and unbuckled his belt.
Then he let go of Pei Yinnian and stood before him, looking down as he took off his own worn-out long gown. His porcelain skin and the lean, beautiful muscle lines of his upper body were exposed nakedly to Pei Yinnian’s gaze.
Looking at Xiao Ji, Pei Yinnian felt a faint surge of pleasure at the thought of pulling Xiao Ji down from his altar. He was about to reach out to grab Xiao Ji’s wrist, but Xiao Ji pinned his hand back against the sofa.
Pei Yinnian was a Young Marshal who had been on the battlefield. Facing a sudden attack, he subconsciously fought back.
But Xiao Ji was no pushover. In the back-and-forth struggle, Pei Yinnian suddenly realized what Xiao Ji was trying to do.
He almost laughed from anger. “Xiao Ji, do you know what you’re doing?”
Xiao Ji didn’t let go of Pei Yinnian, saying flatly:
“Servicing you.”
Pei Yinnian hadn’t expected that a scholar who looked like he couldn’t even lift a chicken would possess a strength that was not at all inferior to his own during a physical confrontation.
After a fierce struggle, Pei Yinnian not only refused to yield an inch but also accidentally kicked Xiao Ji’s shin. He cursed at him:
“Beat it.”
Xiao Ji then released his grip on Pei Yinnian’s wrist, stood up, and pulled his long gown back on. He said calmly:
“Fine.”
With that, he turned to leave. That attitude made it clear: he could “follow” Pei Yinnian, but in their intimate relationship, he wanted the dominant position. There was no room for negotiation.
But Pei Yinnian didn’t get angry. Instead, he felt that Xiao Ji’s personality suited his tastes even more. Men were naturally driven by the desire to conquer. Pei Yinnian was a man with a very strong desire to conquer; meeting a stubborn person like Xiao Ji only made him want to imprison him in his cage even more.
For this, Pei Yinnian could unscrupulously choose to temporarily back down.
He reached out and directly ripped Xiao Ji’s long gown.
“Didn’t you say you were going to service me? If you don’t service me well today, I’ll chop you up and feed you to the dogs.”
Hearing this, Xiao Ji turned around, cupped Pei Yinnian’s face, and kissed him.
The sofa and the rug became a battlefield, left in a complete mess.
