Chapter 42: The Small-Time Star and His Short-Tempered Sugar Daddy (Part XLII)
Fang Yinnian’s perspective ran contrary to the theories and conduct Xiao Ji had adhered to for tens of thousands of years.
These words caused Xiao Ji to turn them over in his mind for a long time before he faintly understood why he had been punished, despite always enforcing the law impartially and never taking a wrong step.
It was because of human sentiment.
He didn’t feel there was anything wrong with his past conduct, nor would he completely overturn his inherent views just because of Fang Yinnian’s words. However, he secretly decided to try and learn to understand Fang Yinnian.
Most importantly, he wanted to make Fang Yinnian happy.
On the day of his discharge, a jubilant Fang Yinnian brought Xiao Ji—who had largely recovered but still needed rest—back home.
There had been plenty of intimate little gestures between the two in the hospital, but it was inconvenient, and they had to consider Xiao Ji’s physical condition, so they couldn’t indulge themselves wantonly.
The moment they stepped through the door, Fang Yinnian couldn’t wait to push Xiao Ji onto the sofa. He straddled Xiao Ji’s lap, cupped his face, and lowered his head for a kiss.
When Xiao Ji’s slightly cool hands slipped under the hem of Fang Yinnian’s shirt, Fang Yinnian couldn’t help but shiver, his entire body turning soft.
He raised his arms to take off his shirt, then went for Xiao Ji’s belt.
“In such a hurry?”
Xiao Ji looked at him, a smile in his eyes.
Fang Yinnian was never stingy with his passion. While getting handsy with Xiao Ji, he cursed, “Nonsense. How long has it been? If I weren’t worried about your body not being up to it, I would have done you in the hospital long ago.”
Hearing this, Xiao Ji clasped Fang Yinnian’s wrists and teased, “I still can’t do strenuous exercise.”
Fang Yinnian was blunt. “Don’t need you to. I’m fully automatic.”
Xiao Ji was amused by him. But the more impatient Fang Yinnian was, the more Xiao Ji felt like teasing him. He said wickedly:
“Beg me.”
Fang Yinnian was already fired up. “I beg you.”
Xiao Ji was unmoved. “Call me by name. Beg me to give it to you.”
No matter how thick-skinned Fang Yinnian was, at this stage, he still couldn’t say such things. Hearing Xiao Ji tease him like this, the tips of his ears instantly turned red.
“That’s enough, Xiao Ji. Do you think I don’t feel it?”
Xiao Ji remained silent, just looking at Fang Yinnian with a smile, waiting for him to say those unspeakable words.
Fang Yinnian really couldn’t get them out. He opened his mouth, the words stuck in his throat. In a fit of pique, he got up to leave.
But Xiao Ji yanked him back, flipping him over and pinning him to the sofa.
Just as he was about to take off his pants and get straight to the point, they heard someone upstairs gasp sharply, followed by the sound of a glass shattering on the floor.
The glass cup that fell from the second floor smashed into pieces, and small shards flew straight toward Fang Yinnian.
Xiao Ji had quick eyes and hands; he raised his hand to shield Fang Yinnian’s face, suffering a small cut on the back of his hand.
Fang Xun stood upstairs, looking down at Fang Yinnian and Xiao Ji. “Is this the business you’ve been busy with all these days?”
Fang Yinnian was already furious about being interrupted midway. Now, seeing the tiny scrape on the back of Xiao Ji’s hand, the fire that had been accumulating in his lower abdomen instantly transferred to the top of his head.
He pushed Xiao Ji away, grabbed his clothes to put them on, and shouted at Fang Xun upstairs:
“Would it kill you to say something in advance if you’re coming to my house? Don’t you know to avoid the scene when you see me doing business? Fang Xun, do you have any manners at all?”
Fang Xun felt she was quite innocent.
“I was just concerned about you. I heard you found yourself an ‘ancestor’ to worship, so I flew back non-stop to watch the show. What did I do wrong? And who knew you were so thirsty? You didn’t even check if anyone was home when you walked in, just pulled out your gun and went into battle directly. Do you think that’s right?”
Xiao Ji sat on the side, his head buzzing.
Half an hour later, the three of them sat at the dining table, looking at each other.
Fang Xun looked at Xiao Ji. “So, you’re the small-time star my brother is keeping.”
Before Xiao Ji could speak, Fang Yinnian cut in, “Boyfriend. Watch your language.”
Xiao Ji looked at the extremely serious expression on Fang Xun’s face. He felt that according to normal logic, at this moment, Fang Xun should take out a card, place it in front of Xiao Ji, and tell him:
You are not worthy of my brother. Here is X million. Leave my brother.
After Fang Xun ordered Fang Yinnian to shut up, she indeed lived up to expectations and took out a card, placing it in front of Xiao Ji.
But the words she spoke were different from what Xiao Ji imagined:
“With that temper of his, how do you stand him? Being in a relationship with him, you really must be suffering. This is a small token of my regard, a meeting gift. The password is his birthday. Take it and use it to nourish your body properly.”
Xiao Ji declined. “Thank you, no need.”
Fang Yinnian, however, was not polite at all. He grabbed the card and stuffed it into Xiao Ji’s pocket. “Keep it. She has plenty of money. Only a bastard wouldn’t take advantage of a free meal.”
Xiao Ji: “…”
Fang Xun didn’t have any other business this time. She just heard that her brother, who had been single for almost thirty years, had found a boyfriend, so she came specifically to take a look.
Fang Yinnian’s orientation had never been a secret in the family. The Fang family lived abroad year-round and was very open-minded about such things.
Therefore, after Fang Xun understood the ins and outs of the matter, she set off on her return journey that very night.
At night, Xiao Ji took a shower. Just as he was preparing to get into bed and do something with Fang Yinnian, he was pulled onto the sofa by Fang Yinnian.
Fang Yinnian pushed Xiao Ji onto the sofa again and sat on his lap.
“Let’s do it again. I liked the feeling from this afternoon.”
So Xiao Ji cooperated.
“Call me. Beg me to give it to you.”
Dark environments can always deceive the senses. Words that cannot be spoken in broad daylight become less unspeakable in the quiet of the night.
Fang Yinnian was very obedient. Pressing his forehead against Xiao Ji’s, he whispered hoarsely against his lips:
“Xiao Ji, I’m f*cking begging you to give it to me. Don’t dawdle. Hurry up.”
……….
Due to procedural requirements, Cheng Nuo’s case took three months to settle, even with the Fang family paying a heavy price to speed things along.
Cheng Nuo’s assets were substantial, accumulated over many years. After paying the breach of contract fees to Xiao Ji and Fang Yinnian’s company, he spent his entire fortune to fight for a sentence of life imprisonment instead of death.
This made Fang Yinnian furious, and he replaced his team of lawyers overnight.
But unexpectedly, things took a sudden turn. A few days later, while Cheng Nuo was out for air in the prison yard, his eyes were pecked blind by a shrike that lunged at him.
Not long after he recovered, he suddenly collapsed while eating. By the time he was sent for treatment, he was already breathless.
The autopsy result was sodium nitrite poisoning.
This matter was eventually suppressed and didn’t cause any ripples in public opinion. However, after receiving the news, Fang Yinnian couldn’t quite figure it out.
In the end, he could only conclude that Cheng Nuo deserved to die.
Only Xiao Ji, looking at the shrike that flew in from outside and landed on the windowsill, gently tapped its little head.
“You are smart. You understand with just a hint.”
The shrike nuzzled Xiao Ji’s finger affectionately and opened its beak.
Xiao Ji got up, took a small box from a corner of the courtyard, picked out a wriggling mealworm, and put it into the shrike’s mouth.
“Follow me from now on. Your name is Xiao Cui.”
The shrike looked at its own feathers, which had nothing to do with the color emerald green (Cui), and chirped twice.
Xiao Ji didn’t respect its opinion very much.
“Boys can be called Xiao Cui too.”
