Chapter 98: Make You Call Me Brother (18)
Gu Yinnian watched Xiao Ji’s small figure on the balcony from a distance.
Although it was blurry—he could only see the outline and not the expression on Xiao Ji’s face—Gu Yinnian suddenly felt much more grounded.
He said, “I’m sorry.”
Xiao Ji frowned. “I don’t want to hear apologies.”
Gu Yinnian’s Adam’s apple bobbed. “I don’t care about your gender after differentiation. I just can’t bear to watch you get hurt…”
Xiao Ji suddenly laughed coldly, interrupting Gu Yinnian.
“And you know for sure you can hurt me?”
If it were before, and Xiao Ji spoke to him with this attitude, Gu Yinnian would definitely rough him up to show him who was boss.
But now, Gu Yinnian didn’t dare make a peep. He could only soften his tone and act obedient:
“Don’t be mad at me anymore, baby.”
Xiao Ji didn’t take the bait. He just said, “It’s going to rain the day after tomorrow, training is suspended for a day. Do you want to go see a movie tomorrow night? You promised me.”
At a time like this, forget seeing a movie.
As long as Xiao Ji would talk to him normally, Gu Yinnian would happily take off his own head for Xiao Ji to dribble like a basketball.
Hearing this, he didn’t even consider whether it would really rain or if training would be suspended. He agreed immediately:
“Okay, I’ll book it. After training tomorrow, I’ll take you to dinner first, then we’ll go see the movie.”
Xiao Ji knew Gu Yinnian must have been suffering these past few days too, so he softened his tone:
“Go to sleep. Don’t overthink things anymore.”
There was always a distance over the phone; you couldn’t see or touch the other person. For someone like Gu Yinnian, it was hard to have a heart-to-heart conversation over the phone.
Besides, he had woken Xiao Ji up. If he kept Xiao Ji on the line, knowing they had to get up early tomorrow, he wouldn’t feel right about it.
Seeing the person from afar and having exchanged a few words, Gu Yinnian felt much better. He said okay and hung up.
He watched Xiao Ji return to the dorm from the balcony before turning back inside himself.
After training the next day, Gu Yinnian and Xiao Ji returned to their dorms to shower and change, then took a taxi to the city center.
The focus tonight wasn’t on dinner.
Xiao Ji had never been picky about food anyway.
They found a decent-looking restaurant, ate a few bites of food that tasted like nothing to them, and went to the private cinema Gu Yinnian had booked.
The staff at the front desk was a female Beta.
After arranging the room for Xiao Ji and Gu Yinnian, she asked what movie they wanted to see, then her eyes began uncontrollably sizing them up.
“The Hunt?”
Gu Yinnian nodded. “Yes.”
The staff member could identify Gu Yinnian’s gender at a glance, but she couldn’t quite tell with Xiao Ji.
She coughed lightly.
“This movie has two versions. We have the uncut overseas resource. I wonder if you want to watch…”
Before this, Gu Yinnian had been solely focused on Xiao Ji and knew nothing about the movie’s content. He looked at Xiao Ji, waiting for him to decide.
Xiao Ji looked at the staff member. “Uncut version.”
At first, Gu Yinnian didn’t understand what the cut content could be.
As far as he knew, The Hunt was a sci-fi action movie, and it didn’t seem to have an Omega protagonist.
He imagined it was probably just some bloody violence.
But when he saw the protagonist’s best brother—an Alpha—kissing the Alpha protagonist in an abandoned warehouse, amidst splashing rain and darkness, half-naked and full of passion, he finally understood why Xiao Ji wanted to see this movie.
The private cinema room wasn’t big.
It was enclosed, private, with only a clean sofa bed.
At this moment, Xiao Ji was leaning on the other side of the sofa bed, intently watching the projection screen where two male Alphas embraced and kissed in the rain.
Gu Yinnian’s ears felt hot. He turned his head to look at Xiao Ji.
Xiao Ji seemed to sense it. He turned his head to meet Gu Yinnian’s gaze and asked nonchalantly:
“What’s wrong?”
Gu Yinnian swallowed. “Nothing.”
Xiao Ji said “Oh,” picked up the remote, and pressed rewind.
Then, he replayed the passionate scene that was about to end.
Watching the two protagonists in the movie kiss again, Gu Yinnian suddenly felt his blood circulation accelerate.
He spoke: “Ah Ji…”
Xiao Ji didn’t want to hear him talk. He raised a hand to hold the back of Gu Yinnian’s neck and kissed him.
Gu Yinnian was too green.
Despite being an Alpha, at this moment, he seemed to have forgotten his instincts, forgotten how to take the upper hand.
Xiao Ji reminded him at the right moment: “Open your mouth.”
Gu Yinnian’s mind was blank. Hearing the command, he didn’t think; he only knew to obey.
Between the entanglement of lips and teeth, Gu Yinnian felt his pheromones starting to leak uncontrollably.
“Wait.”
He managed to say to Xiao Ji.
Xiao Ji let go of him, resting his forehead against Gu Yinnian’s, and asked:
“Wait for what?”
Gu Yinnian covered the back of his neck with his hand. His heart beat like a drum, and he breathed heavily:
“My pheromones are leaking…”
“I smell it,” Xiao Ji said. “Don’t cover it. Be good, let me feel it.”
Gu Yinnian refused. “No, it will hurt you.”
Xiao Ji kissed him again, telling him between his lips:
“It won’t. Brother Nian, release it. Be good.”
The scent of fire roasting the earth began to fill the cramped, narrow room.
Even the temperature around them seemed to be slowly rising.
Xiao Ji could feel the glands at the back of his neck throbbing from the stimulation.
He patiently soothed Gu Yinnian, sliding one hand under the hem of Gu Yinnian’s shirt to stroke his burning abs.
It took Gu Yinnian a long time to realize he had been passive the whole time, teased by Xiao Ji until he was flushed and his pheromones were out of control.
Xiao Ji, on the other hand, was acting with ease, rubbing against his temple while tugging at the drawstring of his sweatpants.
An Alpha’s competitive spirit is always triggered at certain moments.
Like Gu Yinnian right now.
His hands, which had been at a loss, gripped Xiao Ji’s waist. With force, he pinned him down onto the sofa bed.
Looking at Xiao Ji’s dark eyes and moist, red lips, he felt a wicked fire rushing to his head.
“Have you thought about the consequences?”
Hearing this, Xiao Ji stopped tugging at the string.
“The consequences aren’t important. What’s important is whether you’re willing.”
Gu Yinnian almost laughed out of anger. Under this atmosphere, he threw all his past restraint to the back of his mind and said fiercely:
“Ungrateful thing. If I weren’t afraid you couldn’t handle it, I would have done you already.”
Xiao Ji looked into Gu Yinnian’s eyes.
“Have you thought it through? What if I differentiate into an Alpha?”
Before, Gu Yinnian could force himself to endure.
Now, having been seduced by Xiao Ji to this point—having kissed and hugged—if he could still endure and say, “It doesn’t matter if you’re with someone else,” then he had truly lived in vain.
Gu Yinnian felt like he was going to explode. But Xiao Ji hadn’t differentiated yet; he couldn’t recklessly do the real deed with Xiao Ji right now.
He needed to say something to divert his attention.
So, he gritted his teeth and said to Xiao Ji:
“Even if you differentiate into a pile of shit, I will still fucking love you, okay?”
