Chapter 21: The Disobedient Little Private Pet Escaped Again
Gu Xinglan remained silent for a moment, the air thick with suffocating tension.
Finally, the man’s cold, aloof voice came through the phone receiver again: “Let him go.”
The three bodyguards looked at each other, and in accordance with their boss’s orders, stepped aside from the doorway.
Qin Wan, holding his hostage Fu Yunting, walked unimpeded all the way downstairs.
The other three bodyguards downstairs dared not make a rash move either; following Gu Xinglan’s instructions, they stepped aside to open a path.
The two quickly walked out of the villa courtyard.
Not far ahead lay a stretch of woods.
Qin Wan dragged Fu Yunting into the forest.
“You can hang up now,” he said.
Fu Yunting shrieked, “No, no, I won’t hang up! You… you take that damn fork away first!”
He was genuinely worried that the moment he hung up, the little thug behind him would stab him to death with the fork.
He felt that just hearing Gu Xinglan’s voice offered him some form of protection.
Qin Wan shook his head indifferently. “Suit yourself.”
As the words fell, he raised his hand and delivered a ruthless chop to the side of Fu Yunting’s neck.
Third Young Master Fu rolled his eyes back and slumped limply to the ground.
Qin Wan looked down at him, his small, palm-sized face cold.
Bending down, he raised his small hand and slapped Fu Yunting twice across the face, left and right.
“That’s for your foul mouth!”
“That’s for cursing at me!”
Then he stood up, grabbed the shopping bag, and vanished into the woods like a wisp of smoke.
Gu Xinglan stared at the darkened phone screen, his thin lips pressed into a tight line.
He frowned slightly.
Heh, he escaped again.
His disobedient little private pet actually escaped again.
He really is quite capable!
Gu Xinglan stood up and strode out of the CEO’s office with large steps.
He went downstairs, got into his car, and sped straight toward the foot of the mountain in the suburbs.
While driving, he took out his phone and called his personal bodyguard, Xiao Han.
“Take a few men and meet me at the mountain villa in twenty minutes.”
“Yes, President Gu,” Xiao Han responded.
Gu Xinglan thought for a moment and added, “Pick a few with kind faces; don’t bring anyone who looks too fierce.”
Xiao Han didn’t quite understand.
Why is the boss being picky about looks today?
However, he was never one to talk much, so he didn’t ask questions. “Understood, President Gu.”
Hanging up the phone, Gu Xinglan increased his speed.
The drive from the city center to the mountain villa usually took about forty minutes.
But Gu Xinglan’s Cullinan had excellent performance, and with the pedal to the metal, arriving in twenty minutes was not an issue.
He was rushing over not because he was worried about Qin Wan escaping.
He was worried that Qin Wan would get lost.
This mountain area had been equipped with full-coverage high-definition surveillance cameras when it was built, to ensure the absolute safety of the villa owners.
The cameras were connected to a mobile app.
Gu Xinglan could easily check Qin Wan’s current location.
So, no matter what, Qin Wan couldn’t escape.
But he was very likely to get lost in the mountains.

People unfamiliar with the terrain would find it very difficult to walk from halfway up the mountain down to the foot.
He didn’t want that soft, delicate little liar to encounter any danger.

He opened the phone app and pulled up the surveillance of the mountain area near the villa district.

Gu Xinglan’s playful gaze followed Qin Wan’s moving figure. His exquisite phoenix eyes narrowed slightly, and he subconsciously licked the corner of his lip.
After staring at the screen for a while, he dialed Xiao Han’s phone again. “Bring a thick coat with you.”
The joy and delight of regaining his freedom began to fade after Qin Wan had walked for half an hour on the mountain path.
He stopped, his handsome brows furrowing tightly.
He discovered that he couldn’t seem to find his way out of this forest.
Towering green trees blocked out the sun; everywhere looked the same, with no obvious landmarks.
He couldn’t even be sure if he was walking in circles.
The excitement in his heart was gradually replaced by panic.
It was May, and the temperature in the mountains was still quite low. He was only wearing loungewear, and his body began to shiver.
He breathed warm air onto his hands, rubbed them together, and leaned against a tree to rest.
Looking around, he was unsure which direction to take.
He had zero experience with mountain hiking.
Just as panic began to set in, two men suddenly walked over from not far ahead.
Both were in their thirties, wearing sportswear and carrying hiking backpacks.
Qin Wan quickly dodged behind a tree, watching the newcomers warily from the shadows.
“The weather is really nice today,” one of them said.
“Yeah, perfect for hiking,” the other replied.
Qin Wan’s tight nerves relaxed slightly.
They were just hikers, and they didn’t look malicious.
clutching at a lifeline, Qin Wan quickly ran out from behind the tree.
“Hello, big brothers!” he greeted them.
“I’m lost. Could I ask which direction leads out of the mountain?”
The two men looked at Qin Wan. “Oh, little brother, first time in the mountains?”
“Come, come, I’ll tell you. Walk that way…”
The taller man enthusiastically pointed out the way.
“Thank you, big brother!” Qin Wan bowed in gratitude.
The shorter man spoke up, “Little brother, you’re dressed a bit thinly! Ideally, in this month, the temperature in the mountains is still low. Here, take this.”
As he spoke, he untied a windbreaker from his waist and handed it over.
Qin Wan waved his hands quickly. “No need, no need, thank you!”
The shorter man stuffed the clothes into his hands. “It’s fine, we’re all hiking enthusiasts; meeting is fate. A piece of clothing isn’t worth much!”
Qin Wan accepted it, deeply moved, and thanked him repeatedly.
He put on the clothes, feeling much warmer, and continued forward.
He suddenly realized that this seemingly desolate forest actually had quite a few hikers.
After encountering three more hikers and asking for directions, Qin Wan finally walked smoothly to the foot of the mountain.
He let out a long breath.
There really are more good people in this world!
Perverts like Gu Xinglan are one in a million.

He lowered his eyes slightly, feeling a stifling sensation in his chest.
However, when his gaze swept over the thick, long gold chain in the bag, the corners of his mouth subconsciously curved up.

Just then, a super-large, extremely eye-catching black luxury car drove over from the distance.
Qin Wan tried waving his hand again.
Surprisingly, the car slowly came to a stop.
