Chapter 11 ◎ Can’t Stand Him at All ◎
Lin Sumo hadn’t turned off his mic, so Pei Yun’s voice traveled through it into the livestream.
Even more magically, not only did he not turn off the mic, he hadn’t turned off the camera either. Lin Sumo glanced at the computer screen and found that the entire barrage of comments was… shipping CP.
Yes, shipping a Couple.
Shipping him and Pei Yun as a couple.
Shipping a couple out of these two people who were practically sworn enemies.
Pei Yun was an expert at observing expressions. Seeing Lin Sumo’s movement, he followed his gaze to Lin Sumo’s computer. He had good eyesight; unsurprisingly, he saw all the content in the chat scrambling to come up with CP names for them.
Pei Yun’s expression didn’t change. “Shipping CP? Me and Solve? Suit yourselves.”
The chat immediately erupted in screams.
Lin Sumo: “……” This is really killing me.
The next second, Pei Yun turned to ask him, “Deaf?”
“……” Lin Sumo fought back the urge to curse. “Fine…”
Even after sitting back down at the computer, Lin Sumo’s face was still burning.
How did this person suddenly become like this?
Although he had just agreed to play support for Pei Yun, Lin Sumo didn’t play support often, so he chose Sona again, whom he had barely played a few times.
Lin Sumo was currently using the pro player account issued by the league. Although he hadn’t used it for long, after a few weeks of playing, he had reached high-elo matches. However, aside from the game just now, he had never used Sona on this account. So, among teammates with mastery levels 6 or 7, a support with mastery level 1 appeared.
A teammate couldn’t sit still after seeing this and typed curses in the team chat: [No, support, what do you mean? If you want to practice heroes, don’t do it here, okay? This is my fucking promo series, fuck.]
[I’m seriously convinced. You guys are addicted to griefing teammates, right? Don’t play if you don’t know how, bunch of dumbasses.]
Lin Sumo remained expressionless. The first time he went on stage, a huge crowd flamed him much harder than this person, and he hadn’t cared. A random passerby wasn’t enough to make him angry.
Of course, getting angry and whether or not to retort were two different things.
[Trust-Solve]: [Thank you, but I think that evaluation suits you better.]
Sure enough, that person started swearing like a shrew. Lin Sumo ignored him this time, directly muting the messages, and started playing the game seriously.
Although he didn’t play often, he still had the necessary game sense. Lin Sumo was the type who had sense when he needed sense, and when he needed mechanics… he had sense.
It didn’t matter. There was no problem hugging a thigh. Lin Sumo simply started sticking close to Pei Yun again. If Pei Yun wanted to hit someone, he would help control them and follow up with attacks. If Pei Yun was low on health, he would heal him. He was as considerate as could be.
By the end, looking at Pei Yun’s record of 19-0 that he had helped nurture, even Lin Sumo felt his support play was truly excellent.
Lin Sumo had only muted the swearing teammate’s messages earlier. Now, he suddenly saw a row of text pop up in the team chat.
[73629]: [To appear in high-elo games, you must be using hacks too.]
This string of numbers was Pei Yun’s smurf account. That was exactly why Lin Sumo hadn’t recognized him earlier.
Lin Sumo hesitated for two seconds, unmuted the swearing teammate, and scrolled up.
[Tsk tsk tsk, couldn’t tell, huh? A level 1 support playing like this? Must have turned on hacks. Got it. Reporting you as soon as we get out.]
Followed by Pei Yun’s reply, Lin Sumo was momentarily surprised.
Unexpected. Pei Yun actually spoke up for him instead of mocking him along with the others.
Hmm… maybe because of the “public and private separate” rule mentioned before, Pei Yun isn’t bickering with him?
Thinking of this, Lin Sumo unconsciously clicked his tongue.
Hearing this sound, Pei Yun spoke up. “What? Used to being scolded by me, so now you’re unhappy that I’m speaking up for you?”
Pei Yun: “If you really can’t handle it, I can join that guy and spray you a few times to fulfill your dreams?”
“Hah,” Lin Sumo laughed in anger. “I’m used to being scolded by you? Pei Yun, what are you daydreaming about in broad daylight? Did you get your subject and object reversed? Should we take your brain out and smelt it in a furnace?”
Pei Yun: “That’s still better than your brain being connected directly to your large intestine—unsaveable. Why didn’t the country use your face skin to research body armor? Forget dying on the battlefield; you wouldn’t even get a scratch after the war ends.”
These two seemed uncomfortable if they didn’t curse at each other for a day. Once they started, they roasted each other straight until the game ended.
At the same time, Lin Sumo couldn’t understand why fans wanted to ship them as a CP.
The relationship is already this bad, can’t you see it?!
If we really got together, it would just be enduring nausea to torture each other!!
In short, when it came to Pei Yun, Lin Sumo genuinely couldn’t stand him at all.
