Enemies on a Narrow Road [Esports] Chapter 27

Chapter 27 ◎ YunSu CP ◎

[Ahhhhhhhh is this a promotional photo?! This must be the wedding photo of the YunSu CP!!!]

[The sister above is so good at naming hahaha. Pei Yun’s ‘Yun’ plus Lin Sumo’s ‘Su’ equals ‘YunSu’ (Constant Speed) hahahaha.]

[Uniform linear motion… Uniform circular motion…]

[Stop, stop, shouldn’t the focus be on the photo? Help, these two are truly a perfect match.]

[My mom asked me why I’m screeching like a monkey at my phone.]

[Coincidence, my sister asked me why I’m kissing my phone screen for no reason.]

[Quick, help me up! I can still ship them!]

Lin Sumo was stunned when he saw these comments. He scrolled down and, unsurprisingly, saw comments blowing in the other direction.

[Tsk tsk tsk, still daring to come out and prance around? What, haven’t been sprayed enough yet?]

[Looks like the scolding before wasn’t harsh enough.]

[The mental case hasn’t rolled back home yet? Acting all that with so little ability, do you even deserve it?]

[I really dare not imagine his photo hanging in the arena for several days. I’m afraid I’ll vomit from disgust.]

Lin Sumo sighed and turned off the screen.

“Think you’re living too long, is that it?”

Lin Sumo knew who it was without looking up.

He said grumpily, “What’s it to you? I like looking at it.”

Pei Yun sneered. “Don’t come crying when you get scolded again…”

“Shut up!”

Lin Sumo shouted, raising his volume directly before Pei Yun could finish his sentence.

His shout stunned everyone else in the car. Except for the driver, everyone turned to look at him.

Lin Sumo: “……”

Yu Pei asked Lin Sumo with a confused face, “Little Mo-mo… are you okay?”

Lin Sumo rolled his eyes hard at Pei Yun, then turned to Yu Pei. “Ah… nothing, just arguing with a dog.”

Pei Yun: “……”

Yu Pei: “……?”

Yu Pei looked at Lin Sumo doubtfully, then doubtfully at Pei Yun beside him, and finally turned back silently.

Lin Sumo: “……”

He was furious and didn’t hesitate to pinch Pei Yun’s arm hard.

Pei Yun: “……”

Perhaps Pei Yun didn’t want to act crazy with him; he just brushed Lin Sumo’s hand off, closed his eyes, and leaned back to catch up on sleep.

The next day at noon, it rained in Luowen.

Just getting off the team van, Jiang He shouted, “What’s up with this weather? It was fine yesterday.”

Yu Pei and Xiao Lanyu followed him off the car. “Aiya, stop yelling, hurry up. Indoors there’s no wind or rain, and there’s air conditioning.”

Lin Sumo sat furthest inside. Watching Pei Yun open an umbrella and go out, he almost choked.

Damn it… didn’t bring an umbrella…

Why did they all act like they expected this? He was the only one who didn’t bring an umbrella.

Did they plan this?

“Come here.”

Lin Sumo looked up at the sound.

Pei Yun stood outside the car holding a transparent umbrella. His cold voice melted into the rain, adding a touch of imperceptible warmth. “I don’t want to repeat myself.”

Lin Sumo jumped off the car with his long legs. “Alright, thank you, Brother.”

Pei Yun turned a deaf ear to the last word, moving his hand slightly to the side to place the umbrella between them.

The umbrella wasn’t big; the two of them barely squeezed in. Lin Sumo kept crowding toward Pei Yun. “Hey, move over a bit, my shoulder is soaked…”

“Ahhhhhhhh! YunSu CP is real!”

Question marks popped up over both Lin Sumo and Pei Yun’s heads as they looked toward the source of the sound.

Outside the cordon, a fan was looking in Lin Sumo and Pei Yun’s direction, screaming in excitement, holding a huge banner in her hands.

The banner read—YunSu CP Golden Wedding!!!

Lin Sumo: “……”

Pei Yun: “……”

Lin Sumo just wanted to run, but Pei Yun wouldn’t move. He had to reach out and push him forward, not forgetting to bow and nod to that fan.

Inside the lounge, Lin Sumo collapsed on the sofa. “It’s over. Those howls from the fans brought back the fear of being dominated by the words ‘Constant Speed’ (YunSu).”

Jiang He looked baffled. “Huh? Dominated by what?”

“One look and I can tell you didn’t study physics well,” Lin Sumo said weakly. “It’s uniform linear motion, uniform circular motion, and so on.”

“Can’t even learn that,” Pei Yun glanced at him. “Truly useless.”

“You, you, you, you,” Lin Sumo felt this guy was uncomfortable if he didn’t anger him for a day. “How did I not learn it? What I couldn’t learn was electricity, okay… Sigh, thinking about electromagnetic induction gives me a headache.”

Pei Yun: “Useless.”

Lin Sumo: “……”

“Alright, alright,” Shen Chen said helplessly. “Stop discussing physics. Hurry up and prepare what needs to be prepared. Do you know we’re going on stage soon?”

This entertainment match had twelve teams and sixty players participating, divided into two groups, A and B. Each group had six teams. Trust was assigned to Group A.

The competition had three segments. The first segment involved the organizer’s system drawing ten players from each group to battle. The players were randomized; meeting a teammate depended entirely on luck.

The thirty players who won the first segment would enter the second segment. The officials would divide the players evenly into three groups. Players would be randomly paired up for duo play. Each group of ten players would be placed in a custom map. In the second segment match, only two people from each group could win.

Finally, the third segment. Six players would be divided into three groups for solo matches. Only three players would emerge victorious, becoming the top three. The organizers would then rank the three players based on their average performance.

“This arrangement… seems to focus more on individual players rather than the whole team,” Lin Sumo said.

Song Hong interjected, “I have something to say about this. It’s using this different arrangement to generate more public discussion and then make more money.”

“Whatever,” Yu Pei stretched. “We play our game, let them arrange it however they want.”
