Chapter 29: The Leader’s Wife, You Are Famous
Slap—
At that moment, Father Cheng ruthlessly slapped Cheng Tingyan across the face, trembling with rage. “I provided you with good food and drink so you could study! And this is what you do at school?! You scoundrel!”
“Dad…” Cheng Tingyan seemed to be slapped sober. He covered his face, crying, “I was wrong…”
“If you two want to discipline your child, please go home to do it,” Ji Shuohan issued the order to leave.
“It is my failure in teaching my son. We will do our utmost to make up for the harm caused to the Leader’s Madam,” Father Cheng bowed and apologized.
“No need,” Ji Shuohan rejected. “My wife does not need you to make up for anything.”
“Go and handle the procedures now. Imperial Star University does not need such a student,” the Principal said.
“No, no.” Cheng Tingyan knelt, begging through his tears, “I was wrong, I was really wrong, I really didn’t know!”
“Ye Zhile! Help me! I was wrong! I shouldn’t have targeted you! Please! Forgive me!”
“I already said, it’s fine if you don’t like me, but there was no need to cause trouble for me,” Ye Zhile said, no longer looking at him.
Cheng Tingyan looked as if the sky had collapsed, his face ashen. It was over. Everything was gone. The Imperial Star University he had worked so hard to get into was gone just like that…
“In addition, regarding the verbal abuse directed at my wife on the forum for no reason, I hope those individuals will also be punished together. The internet is not an excuse for unrestrained behavior,” Ji Shuohan said.
The Principal agreed to everything one by one. “Yes, I understand. I will have the forum network teachers identify their student numbers immediately and deduct the corresponding credits.”
Ji Shuohan requested a week’s leave for Ye Zhile, and they got into the car to go home.
Ye Zhile learned from Leng Xingtu that the school forum had released a clarification and announced the mastermind behind the rumors. Furthermore, those who had followed the herd to slander him not only apologized to him on the forum but also had 0.5 credits deducted.
However, the major event that overshadowed this turmoil was—Ye Zhile’s identity!
The forum was going crazy!
Ye Zhile was actually the Supreme Leader’s marriage partner! And he was the son of the Minister of the Military!
[Holy crap! I thought Leng Xingtu was the only big shot! I didn’t expect there to be hidden dragons and crouching tigers everywhere!]
[My God! So this is a marriage alliance between the Supreme Leader’s Ministry and the Military??]
[It definitely is! What a fierce life! No explanation needed!]
[So, he is the Major and the Vice Minister’s younger brother? He has two older brothers?]
[My brother is living a blessed life! Even if I were reborn, I couldn’t be reincarnated into such a life!]
[I’m saying his background is too hard! Leaving aside the Leader! His father is the Minister of the Military! The power that the entire Royal Family relies on!]
[Damn! The real princess was right beside me all along!]
[That was close! Luckily, I only eat melons and watch the drama without cursing people, otherwise, I would have lost 0.5 credits! Do you know how hard that is to earn?!]
[Me too! Otherwise, I’d have to participate in so many activities to make it up! Those activities only add 0.1 or 0.1 at a time! So stingy!]
At the dinner table, Ye Zhile ate absent-mindedly. Ji Shuohan asked, “What are you thinking about?”
Ye Zhile came back to his senses. “I was thinking about how to face them when I go back.”
“Face them however you should face them,” Ji Shuohan said. “They are the ones who did wrong, and they are the ones who should be ashamed, not the victim.”
Hearing this, Ye Zhile’s depressed mood immediately dissipated. He smiled, “I understand.”
Seeing the Omega thinking clearly, Ji Shuohan put down his bowl and chopsticks. “Take your time eating, I’m going to the study.”
“Mn?” Ye Zhile looked up. “Going to work right after eating will cause indigestion. You have to rest for a while.”
Since Ji Shuohan became the Leader, he was either working or on his way to work. It was the first time someone had tried to control him. He found it fresh and actually thought about it for a moment. “Mn, then I’ll rest for a while.”
“Hehe.” Ye Zhile beamed.
In the end, Ji Shuohan still went to the study. Before going to sleep, Ye Zhile brought him a cup of coffee but couldn’t help reminding him, “My Lord should drink less coffee. Work is endless, but the body has limits. Resting well is the most important thing.”
Ji Shuohan didn’t feel annoyed listening to this. He nodded, “Mn, I will rest early today.”
“Okay, then goodnight, My Lord.” Ye Zhile was happy.
“Goodnight.”
Chapter 30: I Am Ye Bule
Ye Zhile didn’t go to school, but he still went to the play rehearsals. The rehearsal time was six o’clock every day. When he arrived, most people were already there, and pairs of curious eyes gathered on him.
Ye Zhile walked in cautiously. At this moment, Teacher Liu Yang came over. “Ye Zhile.”
“Teacher.”
Teacher Liu Yang smiled. “Although it sounds harsh, I didn’t expect my casting to be so accurate. If that incident caused you any impact or psychological shadow, you don’t have to force yourself.”
“It doesn’t matter, I can finish acting,” Ye Zhile said. “If Teacher has other candidates, I won’t mind either.”
Teacher Liu Yang shook his head. “I think you are very suitable. I was just worried about the impact of this incident on you, plus bringing emotions into the role during rehearsal…”
“I’m fine,” Ye Zhile said. “This incident won’t affect me.”
“Good.” Teacher Liu Yang patted his shoulder. “I believe in you.”
When the teacher walked away, Leng Xingtu leaned over, wrapped his arm around Ye Zhile’s shoulder, and raised his eyebrows. “Leader’s Madam, you’re famous.”
Ye Zhile didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “Don’t tease me. I’m terrified of people staring at me now; I can barely walk under those gazes.”
“Haha…” Leng Xingtu thought for a moment. “So the Major is your second brother. I was wondering why he cared about you so much. Then your eldest brother is Ye Zhijin?”
“Mn.” Ye Zhile nodded.
After the rehearsal, Ye Zhile was planning to leave the school gate to go home when he was stopped.
Lu Xingyan walked toward him, seeming to have a lot to say. Ye Zhile asked him, “What’s wrong, Brother Xingyan?”
Lu Xingyan swallowed. “Did you really… marry the Leader?”
“Mn.” Ye Zhile felt that Lu Xingyan was also his friend, and keeping it from a friend was indeed wrong, so he explained, “Sorry, because this matter was very sudden, and the Supreme Leader’s Ministry didn’t make it public, so I didn’t say anything.”
“I can understand,” Lu Xingyan said. “So your father really is the Minister of the Military?”
“Why do you ask this, Brother Xingyan?” Ye Zhile asked him.
Lu Xingyan didn’t speak. He lowered his eyes and shook his head. “Forget it, it’s all too late anyway.”
“Brother Xingyan, what’s wrong with you?” Ye Zhile saw he looked lost and despondent.
“Nothing.” Lu Xingyan gave a bitter smile. “I’ll go first.”
Ye Zhile watched him walk away with a blank face. When the driver arrived, he got into the car and didn’t dwell on it too much.
The next few days, Ye Zhile stayed at home. The Supreme Leader still left early and returned late as usual, though occasionally Ye Zhile would wake up early to have breakfast with him.
This Saturday, Ye Zhile was called out by Leng Xingtu to go shopping. The malls in the Capital City center had high consumption levels, so there weren’t many people, making it appear somewhat deserted. Leng Xingtu dragged Ye Zhile through store after store, finally arriving at a jewelry shop.
Leng Xingtu seemed to be a regular customer here. As soon as he entered, the clerk called out to him happily, “Young Master Leng, you’re here.”
“I’m just looking around casually,” Leng Xingtu said.
“Okay, you two please follow me.” The clerk guided the two to the rest area, and other clerks immediately brought tea and snacks.
New jewelry pieces were brought out by the clerks and presented in front of the two. Leng Xingtu asked Ye Zhile, “Do you wear jewelry?”
Ye Zhile shook his head. “Not often, unless it’s an important occasion or festival.”
Leng Xingtu nodded understandingly. He picked out a small mountain-shaped diamond brooch. At this moment, a clerk on the side looked at Ye Zhile and said, “This Young Master looks a bit familiar?”
“Me?” Ye Zhile looked confused. “You must be mistaken.”
“No, no.” The clerk felt her intuition was correct. She took out her phone and pulled up a photo, carefully comparing it with Ye Zhile’s face. A moment later, she opened her mouth wide in surprise, “You… aren’t you that student from Imperial Star University? That Leader’s Madam?!”
Ye Zhile froze. He smiled stiffly, lowered his head, and looked at Leng Xingtu for help. Leng Xingtu pushed the chosen jewelry forward. “I’ll take this one! Please wrap it up; someone will come to pick it up later.”
Saying that, Leng Xingtu dragged Ye Zhile away. Several clerks were incredibly excited and immediately posted on their social circles: The Leader’s Madam came to our store! Holy crap! Saw the real person!
Leng Xingtu dragged Ye Zhile out of the mall, laughing non-stop. He bumped Ye Zhile. “Too famous, Lele! More attention than a celebrity.”
Ye Zhile didn’t know whether to laugh or cry and didn’t speak, letting Leng Xingtu laugh alone. They were done shopping, so the two finally found a Chinese restaurant to eat.
Ye Zhile ordered the salt and pepper crab claws and fried chicken he wanted to eat, as well as a fish soup. The two didn’t eat much, but being greedy, they still ordered five or six dishes.
“Will you be surrounded by onlookers every time you go out from now on?” Leng Xingtu drank his juice.
Ye Zhile picked up a piece of salt and pepper crab claw and joked, “Then I’ll go become a celebrity and make them forget this identity of mine.”
“Haha… I think that’s not bad,” Leng Xingtu chimed in. “You enter the entertainment industry to be a flower vase, and I’ll be your brain-dead fan.”
“Hahaha… then I’ll be scolded to death.”
The two talked and laughed. Ye Zhile was very satisfied with the meal today. After eating and drinking their fill, the two paid the money and were just about to leave when the receptionist’s eyes suddenly lit up. “Are you Ye Zhile?”
“……” Ye Zhile paused and said, “I am Ye Bule.”
Then he dragged the stifling-laugh Leng Xingtu and left hurriedly.
Ye Zhile pulled a long face. “Will my freedom disappear from now on?”
Leng Xingtu stroked his chin, pretending to be solemn. “I think it’s possible.”
Ye Zhile sighed. He was frowning all the way back, but when he saw Ji Shuohan coming down the stairs, he immediately ran over in high spirits. “My Lord came back so early today!”
“Mn,” Ji Shuohan responded.
“Has My Lord had dinner?” Ye Zhile followed behind Ji Shuohan like a little tail. Seeing My Lord brewing a cup of coffee, he turned and answered him, “I have eaten.”
“Oh…” Ye Zhile sat on the sofa. Seeing Ji Shuohan also sit on the sofa, he asked pleasantly, “Is My Lord not working today?”
“Work isn’t busy today.” Ji Shuohan took a sip of coffee. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Ye Zhile crawl over like a puppy and sit next to him. He turned his head; the Omega gave a silly smile and turned to watch TV.
Ji Shuohan was reading a book, and Ye Zhile was watching a melodramatic TV drama. The two did their own things without disturbing each other, and it looked very harmonious.
With a ding-dong, a message came to Ye Zhile’s phone. He opened it to see Leng Xingtu asking him if he was still considering living on campus. This question stumped Ye Zhile.
“My Lord.”
Ji Shuohan looked up and saw Ye Zhile resting his chin on his hand, asking him, “Do you think I should still live on campus?”
“What is the reason for not wanting to live on campus?” Ji Shuohan asked him.
Ye Zhile hemmed and hawed. He had a small habit: when he had something difficult to say, his mouth would purse slightly and twist to one side unconsciously, looking like a little fox, revealing a hint of clever slyness.
As for the reasons he didn’t want to live on campus: firstly, Ye Zhile didn’t quite like those gazes gathering on him all the time; he liked being free and unrestrained in his comings and goings. Secondly… naturally, he wanted to go home and have enough time to spend with My Lord.
“Mn… I feel like I get too much attention at school every day, and I’m not used to it…” Ye Zhile stated the first reason.
Ji Shuohan contemplated. He looked at Ye Zhile with his deep eyes and nodded. “Okay.”
Ye Zhile was happy and immediately replied to Leng Xingtu: [Not living there! Staying at home!]
Leng Xingtu replied to him: [I see through your little thoughts!]
Ye Zhile: [Hmph hmph / crooked mouth]
“By the way,” Ji Shuohan said. “Next week is Father’s birthday. Come with me.”
“Father’s birthday?” Ye Zhile was just about to ask how he didn’t know his own father’s birthday, but looking at Ji Shuohan, he realized it was the former Leader. “Oh! Then do I need to prepare anything?”
“No need, I will prepare it,” Ji Shuohan said.
“Okay.”
