Chapter 4: Is the Supreme Leader Concerned About Him?
In order to eat breakfast with Ji Shuohan, Ye Zhile didn’t sleep in. When Ji Shuohan came downstairs, he had already crawled out of bed and washed up quickly.
The Omega wore a white short-sleeved shirt and black shorts, looking like the boy next door. He smiled at Ji Shuohan, his little canine teeth catching the eye. Ji Shuohan ate unhurriedly and asked, “When does school start?”
“In one week.” Ye Zhile drank his milk and said, “Military training starts in a week. Our major only needs two weeks of training, but I heard other majors have longer training.”
“Imperial Star University is essentially a military academy. Aside from the Journalism major and the Arts College, the other majors are related to mechs or tank chariots. Military training is fundamental,” Ji Shuohan responded.
Ye Zhile smiled happily. He was just chatting about nonsense; he hadn’t expected Ji Shuohan to respond seriously. He thought the Supreme Leader, managing ten thousand things a day, wouldn’t have time to engage in such trivial chatter.
Ji Shuohan didn’t understand where the Omega’s happiness came from, but he tactfully didn’t ask. A child’s world is always strange and quirky.
After breakfast, Ji Shuohan had to go to the Ministry. Thinking about being alone again, Ye Zhile followed behind Ji Shuohan and asked, “If I go out, can I not have people following me?”
Ji Shuohan turned around and met the Omega’s pleading little eyes. He thought for a moment and said, “They are only protecting your safety. After all, your identity is the Leader’s Spouse.”
“But no one knows I’m married to you,” Ye Zhile retorted in a whisper, staring at him. “And… before I married you, no one knew my father was the Military Minister. Who would target me?”
Ji Shuohan nodded. “As you wish.”
having received permission, Ye Zhile waited for Ji Shuohan to leave and then arranged to meet Lu Xingyan and Lin Yang at the library. Because of Ye Junting and Wen Yumo, Ye Zhile had been interested in news since childhood. Occasionally hearing hosts or reporters report on his Father and Dad on TV, Ye Zhile always felt proud, so he had applied for the journalism major.
Ye Zhile carefully selected a few professional books and sat in a corner of the library with the two of them.
“Hi~”
Occasionally, former schoolmates would greet Ye Zhile. Ye Zhile looked up and waved, smiling sweetly. Lu Xingyan, sitting beside him, teased, “Oh my, our Lele is still as likable as ever. You’ve left school, yet people still remember you.”
The year Ye Zhile entered school, the whole grade spread rumors that a beautiful and cute Omega had arrived in the first year, exquisite as a doll. When students came out of curiosity to look, it was true—that small face was pale and tender, his temperament clean and sweet.
Moreover, Ye Zhile had a cheerful and lively personality. He never showed a sour face, warming people like a little sun. So, many people in the school who had met him had a very good impression of him.
“You’re not any different,” Ye Zhile laughed in a low voice. “The Omegas who like you line up from the school gate all the way to France, hahahaha…”
Lu Xingyan saw Ye Zhile’s mischievous look and pretended he was going to tickle him. Ye Zhile quickly begged for mercy, “Wrong, I was wrong, shh~”
Lin Yang glanced at the two playing around, suppressed the discomfort in his heart, and said calmly, “This is a library. Don’t disturb others.”
Ye Zhile immediately sat up straight. Seeing Lin Yang looked unwell, he asked, “Yang-Yang, what’s wrong?”
Lin Yang looked up and forced a smile. “Nothing.”
“Oh.” Ye Zhile didn’t ask further. He picked up his pen and started taking notes in the notebook he brought.
Lin Yang couldn’t focus. He looked at the Omega with the great personality in front of him and couldn’t help dazing out. Ye Zhile’s parents were clearly just ordinary teachers—didn’t even have a family background as good as his—so why could this person be so lively and at ease? Why could he be so carefree, as if there were no troubles in this world for him?
He was a top-tier Omega and looked so good. Meanwhile, Lin Yang himself had an average rank and wasn’t as good-looking. If Lu Xingyan were also a top-tier Alpha, the two of them would probably have gotten together long ago, instead of playing around like this now…
“What are you staring at Lele for?” Lu Xingyan’s words pulled Lin Yang’s thoughts back. Lin Yang shook his head. “Nothing, spaced out.”
Ye Zhile looked up in confusion. Seeing Lin Yang was no longer staring at him, he didn’t think too much of it and continued reading.
Imperial Star University was quite far from the Leader’s Manor. The day before reporting in, Wen Yumo called specifically to ask Ye Zhile, “Do you need Dad to come with you to report in?”
Ye Zhile lay on the bed, his tone clingy. “No need, I’m already in college. Why would I need someone to accompany me?”
“What’s wrong with being in college? Being in college means you don’t need Dad?” Wen Yumo asked him.
“That’s not it,” Ye Zhile whispered. “Aiya, Dad, you always talk to me in this tone for coaxing children. I’ll get spoiled.”
“You won’t,” Wen Yumo was gentle as always. “Our Lele is obedient and sensible; how could you be spoiled?”
Ye Zhile giggled heehee and acted coquettishly toward Wen Yumo. “The Leader’s Manor is so boring. The Leader is busy every day and doesn’t have time to accompany me. Only Uncle Xu and the elder sisters chat with me, but I want him to accompany me.”
Ye Zhile’s tone unconsciously carried a hint of grievance, making Wen Yumo’s heart ache. “Lele, be good. If you’re bored, come home. The Supreme Leader is newly appointed and has many things to attend to.”
“I know.” Ye Zhile understood. He couldn’t be unreasonable. If he pestered Ji Shuohan when he was so busy every day, wouldn’t he be causing trouble?
“Lele needs to be happy and not tire yourself out, understood?” Regardless of anything, Wen Yumo always spoke softly to Ye Zhile. Ye Zhile felt warm inside and nodded. “I will, Dad. You don’t need to worry about me. I’ll take good care of myself.”
“Good, then rest early.”
“Mhm.” Hanging up the phone, Ye Zhile yawned, then washed up and went to bed.
The next day, Ye Zhile woke up early to pack. When he went downstairs, he happened to run into Ji Shuohan. He waved at him. “Good morning, Leader.”
The Omega wore a white T-shirt and a blue plaid shirt with straight-leg jeans below. He had a faint smile on his face—completely the image of a vibrant college student. Ji Shuohan paused for a moment, then nodded. “Morning.”
“Is the Leader going to work?” Ye Zhile followed him downstairs. Ji Shuohan didn’t look back and gave another “Mn.”
Ye Zhile pouted. Why so cold?
At that moment, Ji Shuohan suddenly stopped. Ye Zhile wasn’t paying attention and walked straight into him, clutching his nose in pain.
“So reckless, not watching the road when you walk?” Ji Shuohan turned around.
Ye Zhile looked up, looking at Ji Shuohan with teary eyes, and complained in a whisper, “It was the Leader who stopped suddenly.”
Ji Shuohan felt the Omega’s temperament was truly spoiled—couldn’t be bumped, couldn’t be touched, and couldn’t be scolded. One word and he would look at you pitifully. Ji Shuohan sighed. “Sorry.”
“It’s okay,” Ye Zhile said immediately, his eyes filling with a smile. “I’m going to report to school today.”
“…” Ji Shuohan.
The Omega’s temper came and went quickly. Ji Shuohan nodded. “Let’s go, I’ll drive you.”
“Okay!” Ye Zhile responded cheerfully. Then thinking of something, he hesitated, “Is it okay? Will it have any impact on you?”
“It has an impact on you,” Ji Shuohan said, looking at the ignorant Omega. “If my marriage partner is made public, you will receive a lot of harassment, and the level of attention will increase.”
Is he concerned about me? Thinking for my sake? Ye Zhile thought, his heart unknowingly cheering, unable to stop the happiness. “Then just drop me off not far from the school gate. No one will notice.”
“Mn, let’s go.”
