EO Romance: The Supreme Leader Is About to Enter the Crematorium Chapter 45

Chapter 45: Worried

Ye Zhile finished wiping his body and came out. Ji Shuohan was still sitting in the same spot working as he was this morning. Ye Zhile walked over. “Is My Lord not going to the study?”

“You sleep. I’ll go after you fall asleep,” Ji Shuohan said.

“Oh.” Ye Zhile knew the adult was worried about his fever returning, so he obediently went to bed. He lay on his side, watching the adult’s serious expression as he worked, and unknowingly drifted into dreamland.

The next day, Xiao Yuanqing reported Ye Zhile’s examination data and said, “His body basically has no issues, and there are no signs of infection.”

“Thank you, Brother Yuanqing.” Ye Zhile looked up. Ever since he learned that Xiao Yuanqing almost became his sister-in-law, he liked Xiao Yuanqing even more, always smiling at him.

“You’re welcome.” Xiao Yuanqing was also very gentle with him.

Ji Shuohan saw the two smiling as if no one else was around and shooed the guest away. “Thank you for your trouble. Come over for dinner another day.”

“Sure.” Xiao Yuanqing smiled. “Then I’ll come over another day.”

“Goodbye, Brother Yuanqing,” Ye Zhile said.

“Mn, bye-bye.”

After Ye Zhile recovered, he started bouncing around again. Ji Shuohan had accumulated a lot of work while taking care of him, so once Ye Zhile was better, he went back to the Supreme Leader’s Ministry.

Ye Zhile couldn’t sit still either, but the Supreme Leader said the risk of infection outside was high and didn’t recommend him going out. Ye Zhile had to stay home and scroll through the Star Forum.

The number of KB virus infections was rising, as were the cured cases. However, the cured cases were strictly limited to top-tier Alphas with extremely good immune systems. Ever since the news broke about an infection case in the Capital, the citizens were in a panic, hoarding food and supplies, praying for this storm to pass quickly.

Ye Zhile stayed home for two days. When he had nothing to do, he read the news, scrolled through the Star Forum, and checked the infection cases. Watching the cases increase, he lay on the sofa feeling anxious too.

The TV was broadcasting news…

“The third negotiation between the Empire and Rhea Star has ended in failure. At 8:50 this morning, Rhea Star, out of shame and anger, launched an attack on the Empire’s border using extreme measures… Currently, the 21st Legion has concentrated its firepower… Minister Ye and Translator Wen Yumo have temporarily lost contact…”

Ye Zhile scrambled up. The news footage on TV showed a battlefield filled with artillery fire, ruined buildings, and a glimpse of the conference palace where the Empire’s officials were.

Ye Zhile frantically dialed the military line. It showed busy. He called several times with the same result. He called the Supreme Leader’s Ministry again; same result.

Ye Zhile couldn’t sit still anymore. He immediately put on a mask and went out.

“Lele!” Uncle Xu stopped Ye Zhile as he was leaving. “It’s very dangerous outside right now; you can’t go out.”

“But the war has started over there! My Dad and Father are missing!” Ye Zhile was helpless, tears swirling in his eyes from anxiety. In the end, he didn’t listen to Uncle Xu and ran straight out into the car.

“To the Military Ministry!” Ye Zhile told the driver, clutching the phone in his hand.

Ye Zhile hurriedly got out of the car when he arrived downstairs at the Military Ministry. He had been here many times, so he knew the layout well. He took the elevator directly to Ye Zhijin’s office.

As soon as Ye Zhile exited the elevator, he saw people in military uniforms rushing about. He walked straight to the last office.

“Why did the 22nd and 23rd Legions act without authorization! If you hadn’t left your posts without permission, how could Rhea Star have found a loophole!” Ye Zhijin was furious, slamming the table with a bang bang bang. “I don’t care where you are right now! Those two Legions must return to Koslin! The 21st Legion can’t hold it! Also! The remaining personnel must immediately split up to find Minister Ye and the Translator!”

He hung up the phone with a snap. Ye Zhijin looked up and was stunned to see Ye Zhile standing at the door. “What are you doing here?”

“I… I’m worried about Dad and Father.” Ye Zhile walked in. Ye Zhijin’s angry appearance was intimidating, but Ye Zhile still walked up to his big brother. “I couldn’t get through to the military line, Brother…”

Ye Zhijin hugged his youngest brother, whose voice was choking up, and comforted him, “It’s okay, don’t be afraid. Dad and Father are very capable; nothing will happen to them.”

“But they are both missing… Why did Rhea Star attack the Imperial Conference Palace?” Ye Zhile grabbed Ye Zhijin’s clothes tightly.

Ye Zhijin stroked his head. “Rhea Star’s First Prince, that General, was killed by the Legion led by Father…”

Ye Zhile looked up. “So… are they doing this to take revenge on Father?”

“Most likely,” Ye Zhijin said.

“Report!” At this moment, someone came in to report. “Koslin has been surrounded by Rhea Star soldiers. The 21st Legion has been captured! Countless civilian casualties in the city! Requesting instructions!”

Ye Zhijin’s brows were dark, filled with hostility. “Which Legions are closest to Koslin?”

“The 10th Legion and the 12th Legion!”

“Immediately notify the commanders of the 10th and 12th Legions to unite with the 22nd and 23rd Legions and outflank them from the rear. The safety of the civilians in the city is the priority!” Ye Zhijin ordered immediately.

“Yes!”

Ye Zhile looked worried. “Countless casualties… The virus outbreak is recent; I hope it doesn’t spread there.”

“You came out knowing about the virus infection?” Ye Zhijin was a bit angry. “You don’t listen at all.”

Ye Zhile’s tears swirled in his eyes. “I was worried… I wanted to know if Dad and Father were okay, and I couldn’t get through on the phone… I could only come here to wait for news.”

“And I’m wearing a mask…” As Ye Zhile spoke, tears fell patter into his mask. “Brother, don’t be angry…”

Ye Zhijin’s heart ached terribly. He wiped away his tears. “Brother isn’t blaming you. Brother is worried about your health.”

“Mn…” Ye Zhile wiped his tears. There were plenty of urgent matters right now; he couldn’t let his brother worry about him too.

Ye Zhile sat on the sofa waiting for news. Ye Zhijin draped a coat over him and went out for a meeting.

Ye Zhile stared blankly at a spot, his palms sweating from worry. Half an hour later, Ye Zhichen came in cursing.

“The commander of the 22nd Legion is a f*cking idiot!” Ye Zhichen cursed as he entered. Seeing Ye Zhile, he froze. “Why are you here?”

Ye Zhile didn’t speak, looking at his eldest and second brothers with a frail expression. Ye Zhichen saw Ye Zhijin didn’t say anything, so he spread his hands, sat next to Ye Zhile, and hugged him. He sighed, “Truly brothers in adversity.”

“Is there any news about Dad and Father?” Ye Zhile asked.

“Not yet.” Ye Zhichen was also worried. “People have been sent to search. But since they weren’t found in the Imperial Conference Palace, it proves they are safe for now.”

“Mn.” Ye Zhile nodded.

“The Leader will come to pick you up later,” Ye Zhijin said.

Ye Zhile shook his head immediately. “I’m not going back. I want to wait for news here!”
