EO Romance: The Supreme Leader Is About to Enter the Crematorium Chapter 47

Chapter 47: Am I Going to Die?

When Ji Shuohan returned home, Ye Zhile was nowhere to be seen in the main hall. He hurried upstairs and, upon opening Ye Zhile’s room door, a strong scent of freesia surged out like a broken bamboo. The room was dim, and Ji Shuohan saw the Omega curled up into a ball on the bed.

“Zhile.” Ji Shuohan strode in, hearing Ye Zhile crying out in pain. Ye Zhile’s limbs hurt so much he was breaking out in a cold sweat. He weakly raised his head. “Why did My Lord come in… infection…”

Ji Shuohan gathered Ye Zhile into his arms. The person in his embrace was incredibly burning hot, soaked through with cold sweat. He released a massive amount of pheromones, covering the freesia, and then took out his phone to call Xiao Yuanqing.

“What?!” Xiao Yuanqing was shocked. “How could Lele…”

“He was probably infected by the driver…” Ji Shuohan urgently asked him. “He has a fever right now, his pheromones are unstable, and he keeps crying out in pain. What should I do?”

“Don’t panic yet,” Xiao Yuanqing said calmly. “Your pheromones can alleviate his pain. If he has a fever, find a way to lower his temperature. Take his temperature frequently. Absolutely do not let him come into contact with other pheromones, otherwise it will exacerbate the viral invasion.”

“Okay.” Ji Shuohan hung up the phone. The cedar scent in the room grew thicker and thicker, to the point where even the walls began to frost over. He held the person in his arms, making the Omega press closer to the source of the pheromones.

Ji Shuohan stroked Ye Zhile’s face, attempting to rouse his consciousness. “Zhile…”

Ye Zhile lay weakly in his arms, moved his fingers, and responded softly, “I’m here…”

The person in his arms was truly too fragile, light and floating with hardly any presence. Ji Shuohan asked him, “Does it still hurt?”

“It doesn’t hurt anymore…” Ye Zhile’s breathing was faint.

“Zhile?”

“Mn?”

It was unknown how long it took for Ye Zhile to recover from that wave of pain. He opened his eyes, his head dizzy from the fever, but he still told Ji Shuohan to stay away from him. “If My Lord gets this close to me, you will be infected…”

“Don’t be afraid, I won’t.” Ji Shuohan hugged the person tighter. When the physical pain in Ye Zhile’s body eased, he laid him down to rest and went to the bathroom to fetch warm water to lower Ye Zhile’s temperature.

Ji Shuohan carefully wiped his body, finally applying a cooling patch on him. He took a thermometer to measure—39.9 degrees. The cooling patch only served as a minor aid.

Ye Zhile burned so much he started speaking deliriously. “My Lord…”

“I’m here.” Ji Shuohan touched his face. Ye Zhile asked him, “Have you found… Dad and Father yet?”

Ji Shuohan comforted him, “There will be news very soon.”

“Okay…” Ye Zhile whimpered. “My head hurts…”

“I know…” Ji Shuohan’s heart trembled. Not taking good care of Ye Zhile filled his heart with endless remorse.

“Am I going to die?” Ye Zhile looked at Ji Shuohan with tear-blurred eyes, his tears falling into the pillow. “But I haven’t told them my last words yet… I don’t want to die… wu…”

Ji Shuohan felt both heartbroken and amused. He wiped away the tears at the corners of Ye Zhile’s eyes and coaxed him, “You won’t. With me here, nothing will happen to you.”

As long as they could make it through this week, there would definitely be a way.

Ye Zhile nodded, his eyelids too heavy to open. Taking advantage of the time Ye Zhile was lightly sleeping, Ji Shuohan went down and cooked a pot of preserved egg and fresh shrimp porridge for him.

Ye Zhile ate a small half-bowl and then lay down. Ji Shuohan stayed by his side the entire time, occasionally observing his temperature to see if it had dropped. Fortunately, the temperature dropped to 38 degrees.

There were also many matters at the Supreme Leader’s Ministry. Ji Shuohan could only work in Ye Zhile’s room, and it wasn’t until the early hours of the morning that he lay down beside Ye Zhile.

In the latter half of the night, Ye Zhile ran a high fever again, waking up directly from the pain. Ji Shuohan couldn’t sleep either. He continuously used a wet towel to lower his temperature, fed him fever-reducing medicine, continuously supplied pheromones, and finally hugged the person and coaxed him to sleep.

It wasn’t until Ye Zhile felt a bit more comfortable that Ji Shuohan caught his breath. Having an Omega at home was like raising a child—requiring meticulous care and feeding, delicate beyond measure.

Ye Zhile was much better when he woke up the next day. He sat up, and Ji Shuohan came in carrying minced meat steamed egg custard.

Ye Zhile didn’t have much of an appetite. After forcing down two bites, his stomach began to turn sour. He frowned and dodged. “I don’t want to eat anymore…”

“What do you want to eat? I’ll go make it for you,” Ji Shuohan asked him.

Ye Zhile shook his head. “No need, I’m not very hungry.”

Ye Zhile raised his eyes. Seeing the worried look between Ji Shuohan’s brows, his heart warmed. He smiled faintly, then immediately asked with concern, “Won’t My Lord get infected staying with me?”

“No,” Ji Shuohan said.

Ye Zhile understood. An Enigma’s constitution was different from ordinary people; their own immune system was even stronger than that of a Top-tier Alpha. To this kind of person, the KB virus was just a minor cold.

Ye Zhile felt relieved and smiled, “My Lord, go get busy. I’m fine now. There must be many things waiting for you at the Supreme Leader’s Ministry.”

“Then tell me when you’re hungry,” Ji Shuohan said.

“Okay.”

Ji Shuohan went to the study. Because Ye Zhile was infected and needed his pheromones, he couldn’t go out either, so he could only organize a temporary meeting in the study. The main participants were the researchers from the Pheromone Testing Center.

According to the researchers’ report, they had already extracted the potion’s ingredients from the first batch of infected people’s bodies and were currently researching and matching the ingredients.

Following that, people from the Military Department reported the specific battle situation in Koslin. According to intelligence provided by informants, clues related to Minister Ye and his spouse were found on an island in Koslin.

“Continue to dispatch more personnel to search,” Ji Shuohan said. He then asked, “What is the situation with the 21st Legion?”

“Half of the 21st Legion’s forces are currently dead or injured. The commanders of the 22nd and 23rd Legions have also established contact with them. By tomorrow, they should be able to retake Koslin.”

“Thank you for your hard work. The virus infection has been severe recently, please take care, everyone.”

“Yes.”

Meanwhile, Ye Zhile was on the phone with Ye Zhijin and Ye Zhichen. Knowing that their youngest brother was infected with the virus, both of them were burning with anxiety. On one side, the elders hadn’t been found, and on the other, the youngest had an accident. Truly, nothing was going smoothly.

“I’m much better now,” Ye Zhile said. “Don’t worry.”

“Be good, don’t be afraid. The Pheromone Testing Center has been researching an antidote recently, it will be out very soon. You’ll be fine,” Ye Zhichen told his youngest brother.

“Mn, I know,” Ye Zhile responded.

The three chatted casually for a while longer, but Ye Zhile wasn’t in good spirits. He prepared to sleep not long after chatting. The scent of cedar pheromones in the room was constant, so Ye Zhile slept reasonably well.

When he woke up again, it was from hunger. He couldn’t eat in the morning, but now he was hungry.

Ye Zhile was just about to get out of bed when the room door opened. Ji Shuohan stood by the door with a seeing-through expression. “Hungry?”

Ye Zhile nodded.
