Chapter 41: Crossing the Line
The person on the other end of the phone was clearly thoroughly drunk.
Otherwise, how could he say such honest and provocative words?
Without the cover of a voice changer, the voice coming from the receiver was undoubtedly a man’s.
Yet Duan Mingyue couldn’t suppress the surge of emotions in his heart at all. To be obsessed with a man for five yearsāDuan Mingyue had normal intelligence; he knew very well what this represented.
More importantly, this affection wasn’t one-sided.
YanGold obviously liked him too.
Otherwise… how could he do so many silly things for him?
Thinking of this, Duan Mingyue felt he couldn’t wait any longer; he just wanted to see the little support in person immediately.
Shen Yanjin’s feeling was right. He saw the photo and received the hint; he was indeed moved.
But he didn’t follow his desire to proceed. First, because he was serious about this relationship. With misunderstandings unresolved and feelings uncommunicated, crossing the line muddledly online was irresponsible. YanGold could be impulsive, but Duan Mingyue had to maintain reason.
Second, because the little support was still wearing UOOW’s mask pretending to be a woman. If he confusedly flirted with him online, what would YanGold think?
That was why Duan Mingyue asked Shen Yanjin when he could come to the team.
They liked each other anyway. Once they met and talked things out, wouldn’t everything fall into place naturally?
Duan Mingyue calculated well, but he never expected such a variableāthe little support got drunk, not only calling voluntarily but also saying such words.
Using his natural voice.
Even though Duan Mingyue considered himself a gentleman, he couldn’t be Liu Xiahui (a man of immense moral integrity) right now.
He took the elevator back to his dorm, the corner of his mouth curving into a smile. “Why seduce me?”
Hugging the quilt and phone, Shen Yanjin said incredibly honestly, “…Because I want to do bad things with you.”
Duan Mingyue’s eyes darkened. Leaning against the bed, he reached out to unbutton the top two buttons of his shirt, continuing to induce patiently, “What kind of bad things require you to send me that kind of photo? Hmm? Be a good boy and tell me.”
“Wu… I…” Shen Yanjin was completely dizzy now. Alcohol burned a restless heat in his blood, making his brain chaotic. Amid the man’s slightly husky voice on the other end, this heat seemed to transform into something else.
Drunken Shen Yanjin was incredibly honest about any physical or mental desire.
Duan Mingyue keenly caught the sound of a zipper being unzipped on the other end. Realizing the young man’s action, his breathing suddenly became a few degrees heavier. “What are you doing?”
What was Shen Yanjin doing? He didn’t understand what he was doing either.
He was just following the guidance of pleasure.
The sky hadn’t completely darkened yet. A thin ray of afterglow spilled through the gap in the curtains. In the dim room, the slender young man’s face was flushed with drunkenness. His originally delicate features now carried a somewhat bewildering charm.
His mind was unclear, fumbling blindly. Even so, the maddening heat didn’t diminish by half a point; instead, it burned fiercer.
Hearing Duan Mingyue’s question, Shen Yanjin said very aggrievedly, “Brother, I’m so uncomfortable, what do I do?”
Duan Mingyue closed his eyes, sighing in his heart: How much did he drink?
His Adam’s apple rolled, and he said huskily, “Be good, Brother will teach you…”
T/n: This is really just it⦠JUST THIS SHORT. Hahaahha.Ā
Chapter 42: Cover Blown
As the saying goes, drinking hurts the body, drinking ruins affairs.
The next day, Shen Yanjin woke up with a hangover headache. Looking at the mess on his bed, he deeply understood the true meaning contained in this saying.
Yesterday, Shen Yanjin bade farewell to old friends and thought of indulging himself one last time. After all, once he became a pro player, he basically wouldn’t touch alcohol.
Who knew this indulgence would go too far? Shen Yanjin had never been drunk to that extent. His memory cut off from the moment he raised the wine glass; everything after was pitch black.
No matter how he clutched his forehead and racked his brain now, he couldn’t remember what exactly he did yesterday to ruin the bedroom like this.
More critically, when he woke up, he wasn’t wearing pants.
Strange traces remained on the sheets and quilt cover.
His body was exhausted but carried a faint trace of relief.
Although Shen Yanjin couldn’t recall what happened yesterday, combining these clues, he could deduce with his knees that nine out of ten, he did that yesterday.
I actually have such a habit??
Do that when drunk???
Shen Yanjin felt exceptionally shocked.
He panic-stripped the sheets and duvet cover and stuffed them into the washing machine, then went into the bathroom for a hot shower.
After the shower, his body felt much refreshed, and his head cooled down a bit.
Only then did Shen Yanjin remember to check his phone.
Some people cry when drunk, some laugh, and some make random calls.
But he shouldn’t do such things, right…
Shen Yanjin had never received feedback that he made random calls for so long.
So when he picked up his phone, he still held a sliver of hope.
But when he saw the call log at the top of the chat appāa call lasting one hour and thirty-six minutes with a friend named RedMoonāhis brain buzzed and crashed.
RedMoon?
Moon God??
Duan Mingyue???
Clutching the phone, Shen Yanjin read it repeatedly three times before painfully and despairingly accepting the fact that not only did he do that while drunk last night, but he also harassed Duan Mingyue with a phone call.
Most importantly, his phone didn’t have a voice changer.
Meaning, drunk him not only harassed Duan Mingyue for over an hour but also used his natural voice.
Shen Yanjin didn’t know what Duan Mingyue was thinking right now.
Anyway, he currently had only one thought.
Damn it.
Really want to move to another planet to live…
Unfortunately, his booked flight was this afternoon, flying to Cloud City. Less than two hours, arriving the same day. Calculating it, he could probably even eat a hot dinner.
Meaning, there was no buffer time or space to alleviate the awkwardness.
Shen Yanjin really wanted to travel back in time and beat the crap out of the self who had no clue after drinking.
His scalp tingled. Taking a few deep breaths, he opened the chat box, attempting to say something to remedy, probe, confess, apologize, or whatever.
The result upon opening was even more terrifying.
Yesterday’s self didn’t just call Duan Mingyue; he also sent a long string of messages.
Sentence after sentence, ostensibly apologizing, but reading between the lines revealed an aggrieved tone, acting spoiled as if explicitly demanding Duan Mingyue to coax him.
He closed his eyes in despair, put the phone aside, and leaned back in the chair, half exhausted and half mentally weary, lying flat.
Duan Mingyue was a straight man.
That was why Shen Yanjin created so many twists and turns.
The result?
The result was that before, he was bold with lust but didn’t taste the sweetness of sending leg photos. Now, inexplicably, his cover was blown.
Shen Yanjin acted recklessly, seemingly not caring about consequences, but actually, he had arranged everything well in his heart. For example, after arriving at the team and meeting Duan Mingyue, he would apologize immediately and tell the prepared “truth.”
Why pretend to be a woman to contact Duan Mingyue?
Because his past record was too poor and he wanted to return to the pro circle but suffered from a notorious reputation, so he wanted to hitch a ride on Duan Mingyue’s big boat, borrowing the east wind to enter the champion team.
Then why didn’t he tell the truth after confirming entry, but continued playing ambiguous games? Sending leg photos?
Because seeing Duan Mingyue seemed truly moved, he thought it was fun and joked with Duan Mingyue.
Correct.
Shen Yanjin intended to portray himself as a rotten person with poor character.
He was betting that Lu Yuan couldn’t carry the heavy load now, and KW Team was lacking his support skills. Even if he said such things, even if Duan Mingyue hated him, for the sake of the team’s results, he couldn’t drive him out of the team.
This also meant Shen Yanjin would rather carry such a black pot than let Duan Mingyue know there was a man who liked him and used every means possibleāpretending to be a woman, voice changer, flirting, leg photosājust to get close to him.
But now, the plan was all messed up.
He thought numbly about that one-and-a-half-hour call record, truly unable to imagine what drunk him would say to Duan Mingyue.
Anyway, judging from the text messages he sent, it highly likely wasn’t anything reserved.
They say alcohol reveals the truth…
Shen Yanjin really didn’t want to think about what truth he revealed last night, and with what mood Duan Mingyue listened for an hour and a half.
He closed his eyes. The messy bed from this morning flashed through his mind.
So Shen Yanjin snapped his eyes open again, sweating on his forehead.
He… suddenly had a very, very bad association.
He only thought about how he did that last night and made a harassing call to Duan Mingyue with his natural voice. But thinking worseāwhat if these two things happened together?
Doing that while calling Duan Mingyue?
Shen Yanjin knew he had been depressed and concerned these past few days because of the failed invitation to flirt with Duan Mingyue.
So, this deduction wasn’t baseless or unreasonable.
But Shen Yanjin would rather it be unreasonable now.
If this deduction was true, he had no face to go to Cloud City at all.
How about… bracing himself and testing Duan Mingyue’s attitude?
What if…
What if he retained one ten-thousandth of rationality last night, and these two things didn’t happen simultaneously?
Just as Shen Yanjin was struggling, the phone rang.
It was actually a new message from Duan Mingyue.
Truly someone handing a pillow when sleepy. Shen Yanjin hurriedly clicked in.
[KW-RedMoon: Awake? Don’t run around when you arrive at the airport this afternoon; I’ll pick you up.]
Seeing this message, Shen Yanjin felt his chest loosen instantly. It seemed the terrible things he imagined didn’t happen. And judging by the looks of it, Duan Mingyue wasn’t angry after knowing he was actually a man.
He even said he’d come pick him up!
But the next second, Duan Mingyue’s message came again.
There were only seven simple letters in the message, yet it made Shen Yanjin feel like he fell into an ice cave.
