Chapter 21
When Bai Sinian looked around, his lips twitched.
Cui Yeyi dismantled one of the bass drums from the drum set and brought it to the scene, frantically beating the drum. Fan Hongyi hung the bass and fully displayed Robert Trujillo’s “crab walk,” and there was another obvious unfortunate who had been kidnapped, hiding behind the two and playing the guitar.
The attention of all the students was drawn to the back, and they rarely saw the protagonists of the viral anti-campus bullying video, who were actually performing on the spot!
Thunderous applause erupted in the auditorium, and the students stood up, with many cheers!
Fan Hongyi and Cui Yeyi shouted, “Third in the grade! Awesome! Fifth in the grade! The flying ace of awesomeness!”
These few sentences of no standard made Bai Sinian just want to find a crack to crawl into, and he stole a glance at Bian Rui next to him. Sure enough, Bian Rui’s face was terribly black.
Bian Rui’s black face had only one reason, which was that he did not know what the hell they were playing.
You can edit the video and then edit it again, only playing the best side, but the sound on the spot just exposed the level of the few of them without a doubt.
However, many students did not care whether they sounded good or not, they were only excited to have the chance to hear the live version today.
There were even some classmates who were touched by them. The four-piece band, the other three had come to the scene to celebrate the lead singer, not afraid of embarrassment, just to play a victory song for him, how pure this friendship was!
After a song of nonsense, the teaching assistant on the stage just smiled, not rushing them to leave, and Cui Yeyi and the others waved and left the auditorium.
The focus then returned to the stage of the award ceremony, and the new principal awarded the certificates and gifts to these ten students. When he came to Bai Sinian and Bian Rui, he specially praised these two students loudly.
Bai Sinian felt that those few minutes on the stage were the most difficult of his life.
Finally, the award ceremony ended, and Bai Sinian buried his head and returned to his seat, relieved, never wanting to die of embarrassment again.
In the evening at the cafeteria, they occupied their old spot again.
Bai Sinian came a little late, carrying his tray and looking at them. “Sinian ge!” Shen Bei waved at him, and Bai Sinian returned a brilliant smile and stepped over to sit down.
The atmosphere at the dinner table was a bit tense, and sure enough, Bian Rui was pointing out their musical mishap today.
“When doing SLAP (slapping the strings), you need to pay attention to adjusting the strings to a position closer to the fingerboard, so that it’s easier to get the sound out. At the same time, the left hand needs to be relaxed, and the left fingers should not be too far from the strings.”
Bai Sinian kept his head down and ate, seeing that Bian Rui was instructing Fan Hongyi, and Fan Hongyi seemed more obedient, frowning earnestly and listening, occasionally nodding in response.
After finishing with Fan Hongyi, Bian Rui glanced at Cui Yeyi: “I don’t even want to talk about you, what the hell can you play on a bass drum? What’s the difference between that and the ‘beat drum’ of a street performer?”
Bian Rui’s gaze swept over Shen Bei, and he didn’t say anything more, seeming to be afraid of hurting Shen Bei’s fragile heart.
The dinner table was silent for a few seconds, and Fan Hongyi suddenly realized, “So I’m the one who played the worst?”
Bai Sinian pointed at Cui Yeyi: “It’s him, no need to evaluate him at all.”
Cui Yeyi looked at Bai Sinian with disbelief, wasn’t this person fond of him? Why was he still saying this about him? But he didn’t really want to talk to the gay guy, so Cui Yeyi could only swallow the question with a question mark on his head.
“Pfff…” Fan Hongyi laughed out loud.
Bian Rui took a few sips of porridge and said, “After the award ceremony today, the principal invited our band to perform a program at the New Year’s gala, and I agreed.”
“Great!” Fan Hongyi was inexplicably excited: “What song are we going to perform?”
“Let’s still do ‘Red Sun,’ we’ve rehearsed it a few times before,” Bian Rui suggested.
The other three were enthusiastically discussing the upcoming training, only Shen Bei looked anxious. Bai Sinian sat across from him and asked softly, “What’s wrong with you?”
“Are you afraid to go on stage? Social phobia?” Bai Sinian noticed his tension.
Shen Bei unconsciously stirred the tofu brain with a ladle, nodding, “A little bit.”
Bai Sinian smiled, “It’s okay, just practice more, and your courage will grow little by little. You did a great job this morning!” Although he didn’t see him the whole time in the morning, he only knew that he was hiding behind the two big guys.
Shen Bei has always seen Bai Sinian as a big brother, and with his comfort, Shen Bei decided to try to step out of his comfort zone and challenge the social bull! At the same time, Shen Bei told Bai Sinian that he plans to have a tutor come to his home to study.
“Really? Do you have time?” Bai Sinian asked softly.
Shen Bei lowered his head slightly, “My brother got me an excuse from night self-study, so I won’t be coming to night self-study from now on.”
It makes sense, most of the time night self-study is just doing homework, and when you encounter a question you don’t understand, you ask the teacher. For Shen Bei, learning at home with a tutor would be more beneficial.
Bai Sinian said, “That’s great! I’ve been wanting to study on my own during night self-study too!”
Shen Bei said, “Really? Do you want to come to my house? My brother hired six tutors for me.”
Bai Sinian’s eyes widened, no wonder it’s a wealthy family, normally one tutor costs three or four hundred yuan per hour.
Bian Rui, sitting next to Bai Sinian, glanced this way, “You two are whispering, what are you talking about?”
So the two small teams exchanged the results of their just-concluded conversation, and Bian Rui’s side had already confirmed the practice of “Red Sun,” and they would find a teacher to guide them.
Shen Bei actively invited everyone to go to his house for night self-study, where they could receive free guidance from famous teachers.
So the two sides reached a consensus.
Bai Sinian and Bian Rui’s thoughts were the same, even if they didn’t accept the guidance of the famous teachers, in the hands of the famous teachers, they must have many precious exercise resources, finding them to get some practice papers to do would be much better than just aimlessly doing homework at school.
Cui Yeyi and Fan Hongyi were simply for the sake of going to Shen Bei’s house to eat good food, and to supplement their studies was also a pleasure.
All five of them asked their homeroom teachers for leave, and explained the situation to their parents. From now on, Shen Bei’s driver would come to the school gate after school every day to pick them up and take them to Shen Bei’s house for dinner and study.
The happy learning journey officially began.
Lu Ming initially arranged for two teachers to come at different time slots to tutor Shen Bei’s homework, but now that there were several more people at home, he had to arrange five teachers to come for one-on-one tutoring every day.
The five teachers of different subjects would formulate teaching progress plans according to their actual situation.
Like Bai Sinian and Bian Rui, they directly entered advanced training.
Cui Yeyi and Fan Hongyi belonged to the second echelon, and Shen Bei was the third echelon.
Shen Bei’s house had a study room, about the size of two classrooms, and they were scattered in various corners of the study room learning.
After changing the environment, they had a completely new experience, which made everyone full of freshness, and the efficiency of this kind of supplementary learning was also very high, three hours flew by in the blink of an eye.
The driver sent the five of them back to the school dormitory before the dormitory closed.
Bian Rui wore earphones and listened to music all the way, and the other few people chatted about some random nonsense, but Bai Sinian and Cui Yeyi never said another word.
Shen Bei seemed to sense something, and on the way from the school gate to the dormitory, he asked Bai Sinian what was going on.
Bai Sinian then told him in detail, including what his purpose was in doing so, and Shen Bei expressed his understanding, and felt even more that Bai Sinian wasn’t easy, really worrying about them.
With the one-on-one tutoring of the famous teachers, their learning efficiency has improved a lot, and they can also rehearse “Red Sun” more at ease on the weekends.
On Friday night, Bai Sinian had made an appointment with his mom to go home and have fish soup, and he would set out from home to the music rehearsal room the next morning.
As soon as he reached the school gate, he was grabbed by a middle-aged man.
“Bian Rui’s classmate!”
Bai Sinian focused his eyes and took a look, it was Bian Rui’s dad! Seeing him, he would think of how Bian Rui would become a hot-shot producer a few years later.
“Uncle, hello!” Bai Sinian grinned.
Bian Guang gave a professional-looking smile and immediately asked, “Where’s Bian Rui? I’ve been looking for him for a few days, and he hasn’t responded to my messages, hasn’t he gone up?”
Bai Sinian thought, it must be that Bian Rui didn’t want to talk to him, normally Bian Rui always listens to music on his phone, he couldn’t have missed the messages.
“He’s at school, but we’re usually busy with studying and band practice.” Bai Sinian explained for Bian Rui.
Bian Guang frowned, “Still forming a band? Hasn’t it disbanded yet?”
As Bai Sinian walked towards the bus stop, he said, “Yeah, the principal really supports us! He even invited us to perform a program at the New Year’s gala, but we haven’t found a tutor yet, oh, it’s troublesome, Bian Rui must be more anxious, so he’s very busy.”
Bai Sinian was talking to himself without noticing the change in Bian Guang’s expression.
The bus stop was crowded with students waiting for the bus, a 985 bus slowly drove into the bus stop, and the students rushed to the front door, Bai Sinian quietly stepped back a step: “I’ll wait for the next one.”
Bian Guang stood next to Bai Sinian, neither walking nor speaking, Bai Sinian looked at him: “Uncle, do you have something to find him for? I can pass it on, since we’ll see each other tomorrow anyway.”
“Where are you meeting tomorrow?”Â
“There,” Bai Sinian pointed to the building a few hundred meters away, where various training classes were held, “In the music rehearsal room, it’s provided by Cui Yeyi’s dad for us to use.”
“Oh, I see.” With that, Bian Guang left.
“Huh? Uncle?” Bai Sinian could only shout loudly, “Bye, Uncle!”
Bian Guang seemed not to have heard, and just walked away. Are all the artistic people so mysterious and secretive?
The second 985 bus arrived, and Bai Sinian finally squeezed onto the bus going home.
After the autumn, the weather gradually cooled down, and on Saturday morning, Bai Sinian was woken up by the cold. After getting up, he found that his parents hadn’t gotten up yet, so he began to continue uploading the photos and videos he had taken this week.
Then check if the express delivery has arrived, and then send the new photos to the seller to help print them out.
This is one of the things he has to do every week, and he feels very happy.
Bai Sinian rummaged in the closet and found a deep green flight suit jacket, put on some jeans, and set off for the music rehearsal room.
