F4 High School Band Makeover chapter 37-38.2

Part 2

These negative comments were like pirated novels, endless. Just after replying to one, an account from a few hours ago would log in and retort back, so Bai Sinian would retort back again, endlessly.

Bai Sinian hunched over, hiding under the covers. The arched quilt looked like a small hill. Bian Rui glanced at Bai Sinian’s side in a daze but didn’t pay much attention, thinking he was sleeping with his legs crossed.

The next day, when Bai Sinian woke up with huge dark circles under his eyes, Bian Rui realized something was wrong.

“What did you do last night?” Bian Rui stood by Bai Sinian’s bed frowning. Bai Sinian squinted, unable to open his eyes, sitting cross-legged on the bed, looking like his soul had left his body.

Bian Rui called out loudly: “Bai Sinian! Wake up!”

Bai Sinian finally opened his hazy eyes: “Ah… what?”

Bian Rui: “I asked what you were doing last night? Did you play games?”

Bai Sinian: “No…” Then Bai Sinian yawned, jumped off the bed, and accidentally bumped into Bian Rui’s solid chest.

Bian Rui: …

Bian Rui put away his blame and showed a hint of worry: “Do you want to take a half-day off to catch up on sleep?”

“No need, no need, I’m going to wash up.”

Bai Sinian went to the bathroom. Bian Rui picked up Bai Sinian’s phone and saw it was out of battery. He had played all night. Bian Rui regretted giving him the new phone a bit, feeling like he was the one who caused him to be addicted to the phone.

A few minutes later, Bai Sinian came out of the bathroom, changed into his school uniform, and sat on the chair to put on socks. Bian Rui leaned against the bed ladder, waiting for him.

“Bai Sinian, why are your socks mismatched?” Bian Rui was helpless.

“Oh, took the wrong ones.”

Bian Rui turned and walked to Bai Sinian’s closet, found a matching pair of socks, and threw them to him.

When changing shoes, Bai Sinian took a pair of shoes that were drying on the balcony. Bian Rui walked over, took the still-damp shoes from his hand, and changed them for a dry pair.

Going to the cafeteria, Bai Sinian forgot his meal card, so Bian Rui bought breakfast for him.

All the way, Bai Sinian was like a mentally challenged child, looked after by Bian Rui the whole time.

So staying up all night had so many consequences. Bai Sinian was dizzy and confused. Fortunately, Bian Rui was by his side until he sent him to the classroom for the first period.

Physics class was even more boring and dull. Not long after, Bai Sinian couldn’t hold on and fell asleep headfirst.

Thermal convection and thermal radiation, wave-particle duality of light, quantization of light, etc., gradually drifted away from him. He slept like the dead on the desk.

Until Bai Sinian was shaken awake. He felt like he had returned from another world, staring blankly at his seatmate.

His seatmate waved a hand in front of his eyes: “Awake? The homeroom teacher wants you in his office.”

“Ah…” Bai Sinian realized then that he was still in his second year of high school. He had stayed up all night, so he couldn’t hold on in class and fell asleep.

His seatmate repeated it again, afraid he hadn’t heard.

“Okay, okay.”

Bai Sinian walked to the homeroom teacher’s office like a zombie. This place was the eighteenth level of hell that everyone avoided. Teachers wouldn’t call people to the office for no reason.

Bai Sinian was still yawning as he walked towards the office. Bian Rui was delivering materials to a teacher and happened to meet Bai Sinian.

“Where are you going? Slept for a whole period?” Bian Rui suddenly popped up, walking side by side with Bai Sinian in the corridor.

Bai Sinian looked at him in horror: “Did you install a surveillance camera on me?”

Bian Rui pointed to his own cheek: “You have sleep creases on your face.”

“Uh, hehe,” Bai Sinian laughed embarrassedly, “The homeroom teacher called me to the office.”

“Probably about you sleeping in class. are you addicted to your phone?”

“No, no.”

Bai Sinian planned to muddle through, but unexpectedly, Bian Rui followed him into the office.

“What are you doing?” Bai Sinian whispered to him.

Bian Rui looked straight ahead: “I’m helping the teacher with work.”

Bai Sinian thought, this is bad, losing face in front of my idol. Please, homeroom teacher, leave me some dignity!

Sure enough, the homeroom teacher didn’t leave any dignity at all.

“Bai Sinian! You were sleeping the whole time in class today! The physics teacher called your name several times, and you didn’t wake up. You are too disrespectful to the teacher!” The homeroom teacher scolded him harshly.

Bai Sinian lowered his head, his expression unclear, his attitude considered very good.

Bian Rui was organizing materials at the desk of the teacher next door. He had finished his work but didn’t leave; his attention was all on Bai Sinian.

After the homeroom teacher criticized and educated Bai Sinian, Bai Sinian said weakly: “Teacher, I have a lot of study pressure, so I had insomnia last night…”

The homeroom teacher choked. Could it be that I scolded him for so long, and I was wrong?

Bian Rui was also stunned after hearing this. He didn’t expect the honest Bai Sinian in his impression to be able to lie so fluently? Last night he was clearly hiding under the covers playing on his phone. If he hadn’t been too tired, he would definitely have gotten out of bed to lift his covers and catch him red-handed.

The homeroom teacher’s tone suddenly changed, with a motherly tenderness: “Student Sinian, if the pressure is high… there are many ways to adjust, such as doing meditation, talking to the psychology teacher, etc. Don’t carry it alone.”

“Indeed, students with good grades will have some pressure. You have to learn to adjust. Let’s forget about today’s matter. Go back and catch up on sleep at noon. The teacher allows you to be late in the afternoon.”

Bai Sinian pretended to sob twice, very moved: “Thank you, teacher, I will adjust myself.”

The homeroom teacher felt pity and didn’t say another word about him. Watching the child leave the office, she silently sighed.

Bian Rui at the next table had already finished organizing the materials and immediately followed Bai Sinian’s footsteps out. “You were just playing on your phone last night, right?”

Bai Sinian couldn’t hide it from Bian Rui and laughed foolishly: “Hehe, you found out.”

“I didn’t realize, Bai Sinian, you’re quite shrewd.” Bian Rui teased him.

Bai Sinian was very happy inside. His idol starting to tease him meant their relationship was already very good. He explained his purpose to him: “I didn’t say it at first because the physics teacher definitely complained to the homeroom teacher. The homeroom teacher needed to vent. After he vented, I said it was high pressure, and he would start to feel sorry for me. Look, that’s exactly what happened.”

Bian Rui was still thinking about this layer of logic when Bai Sinian continued: “If I told the truth about playing on my phone, there would be a lot of trouble later. It’s better to just say insomnia. Besides, I do have pressure, and I did have insomnia last night, so it’s not a lie.”

Hehe, I’m really a genius at debating.

Bian Rui looked at Bai Sinian with new eyes. His mind was much more flexible than the average high school student.

“You will definitely be a great PR person in the future.” Bian Rui sighed before parting with him.

“Thank you, I’ll try my best.” Bai Sinian gave him a brilliant smile and entered the class.

It took Bai Sinian an entire afternoon to adjust his schedule and get back on the normal study track.

The afternoon dismissal bell rang as scheduled, and the originally quiet campus was instantly filled with joyful noise. Students poured out of their classrooms, heading towards the cafeteria.

Bai Sinian passed through the playground illuminated by the slanting sun. The golden glow fell on his handsome face, and he felt an inexplicable emotion.

How beautiful the campus is right now. Why did he spend ten or twenty hours online fighting with those negative comments?

This lost time, looking back now, was of no help to him.

Those who insult “Dazzling Star” are like cockroaches hiding in the internet world; they will never be completely exterminated.
