F4 High School Band Makeover chapter 7

 Chapter 7

The school leaders naturally wouldn’t let them meet, otherwise it would cause more trouble. Peaceful resolution was the most beneficial to the school.

The school leaders were still persuading the parents to take the money and settle the matter, but they insisted on a fair explanation.

When Bai Sinian and Bian Rui left the principal’s office, the matter had not yet been resolved.

The two walked in silence towards the cafeteria. At this time, a few of Bian Rui’s classmates ran over, asking Bian Rui how things were going.

Bian Rui stood on the tree-lined path, his face clouded, “Not too good, the school wants to quietly handle it with money, but Lin Yuting’s parents don’t agree.”

“The school is so disgusting! They don’t even expel those bullying girls, do they!”

Bian Rui lowered his gaze, “The leaders said they will give them psychological counseling.”

Bai Sinian couldn’t help but interrupt, “Not to be blunt, but if psychological counseling could change the bullies, what would the police be for! Shouldn’t the school set up an anti-campus bullying team to specifically handle these cases, otherwise there will be a second or third Lin Yuting in the future!”

“That’s right! You know, we went to Lin Yuting’s seat early this morning, and found dirty words written all over her books!” one classmate said angrily.

“Yes, things like who is Lin Yuting’s sugar daddy and such vulgar language! I can’t believe a high school girl could insult a classmate like that!”

“And there were drops of blood, it seems like needles were stuck in her chair, and when she sat down, it pricked her and made her bleed!”

“Damn it!” Bai Sinian cursed.

“We also found Lin Yuting’s test papers in the trash, all of which were over 100 points, there’s no way she would have thrown them away herself!”

Bian Rui’s back teeth were grinding, his fists clenched tightly, lost in his own thoughts.

Those classmates speaking got teary-eyed, if they had known their classmate was going through this, they definitely would have stepped in to stop it.

Bian Rui suddenly turned and walked away.

“Bian Rui!” Bai Sinian called out, immediately following him back, “Where are you going? Aren’t you going to eat?”

Bian Rui didn’t say a word, biting his lip, his eyes burning with a raging fire.

The other few classmates followed him, and Bian Rui returned to the door of the school leaders’ office. The negotiations inside were still not over, Bian Rui abruptly pushed open the door.

“Bian Rui!” The other classmates were shocked.

But the door was open, and all the adults inside turned their astonished gazes towards them. A few classmates bravely followed Bian Rui in.

“Student, did you come to the wrong office?”

Bian Rui gritted his teeth, “No! I’m here to find you! I’m Bian Rui, Lin Yuting’s classmate, and I’m asking the school to investigate this matter and give Lin Yuting justice!”

Lin Yuting’s parents looked at Bian Rui gratefully, “Child, you…”

Bai Sinian also stepped forward, “Lin Yuting was bullied by her classmates, as a school with decades of history, reputation may be important, but shouldn’t student lives be more important?”

The school leader sitting in the group reprimanded, “What do you know! The deceased has passed, we should mourn, but we should protect the living more! If those few female classmates can’t stand the pressure from the school, and also choose to end their lives, then that will be completely our responsibility!”

“In the end, it’s about trying to shirk responsibility, now that such an incident has occurred, don’t you have any responsibility at all?” Bian Rui glared, “Your management was derelict, you turned a blind eye! For the sake of reputation and vanity, you disregard student lives and bargain with lives!”

“Shut up! What do you know, you’re just an underage brat!”

At this time, the classmates stepped forward one by one, “Lin Yuting’s books are full of insults from those few people! They also threw away Lin Yuting’s books and test papers, and put thumbtacks and needles on her chair for her to sit on! We haven’t even gone to the dorm to see how they bullied her there!”

Hearing these words, Lin Yuting’s mother felt a sharp pain in her heart, her legs weakened and she collapsed into her father’s embrace.

“Uncle, Auntie, you must demand an autopsy, and keep the evidence of their campus bullying!”

The educational director had had enough, directly pushing them out and slamming the door shut.

They had just started to make some progress in the discussion with the parents, but then these brats stirred up trouble, almost undoing everything!

The few classmates who were pushed out looked at Bian Rui, as if he was the leader, and asked, “What else can we do?”

Bian Rui was also at a loss, besides having a burning passion, they could do nothing.

“We can’t just sit back and do nothing!” Bai Sinian clenched his fists, “The school is trying to hush this up with money, but the parents deserve a fair explanation. We have to find a way to expose the truth!”

The other classmates nodded resolutely, “Yes, we absolutely can’t let this go! Lin Yuting’s parents must get the justice they deserve!”

Bian Rui pondered for a moment, “Let’s see if we can get any evidence discreetly first. If the school continues to cover this up, we’ll have to find another way to make them pay attention.”

The group dispersed, each returning to their dorms, but their hearts were filled with indignation. They knew they had to do something, for the sake of their classmate who had been so tragically wronged.

Bai Sinian lay on his bed, his mind racing with ideas. He couldn’t just stand by and watch the school try to sweep this under the rug. As a member of their little band, he felt a sense of responsibility to help.

Suddenly, an idea struck him. He quickly sat up and grabbed his roommate’s attention.

“Hey, do you know if there are any student groups or clubs on campus that focus on protecting student rights and fighting against bullying?”

His roommate thought for a moment, then shook his head, “I’m not sure, why?”

Bai Sinian’s eyes gleamed with determination, “I think we need to start one. This Lin Yuting incident is just the tip of the iceberg, who knows how many other students have been suffering in silence. We have to expose the truth and get justice for her!”

His roommate looked hesitant, “But won’t that put us in conflict with the school administration? They seemed pretty adamant about keeping this quiet…”

“That’s exactly why we have to do it!” Bai Sinian retorted. “If we don’t stand up for what’s right, who will? Lin Yuting deserves better, and so do all the other victims of bullying on this campus.”

After some persuasion, Bai Sinian’s roommate finally agreed. The two of them began brainstorming ideas, determined to rally their classmates and take action.

Meanwhile, in the principal’s office, the discussion between the school leaders and Lin Yuting’s parents was still ongoing, with neither side willing to back down. The tension in the air was palpable.

Bian Rui stood outside, his mind racing. He knew they couldn’t let the school get away with this. He had to find a way to uncover the truth and get justice for his classmate. The fire in his eyes burned with unwavering resolve.

Bai Sinian sighed, “Let’s go eat first.”

This lunch was eaten with a heavy heart, the school cafeteria no longer had its usual lively buzz, as if everyone was shrouded by this incident, even when discussing it, they could only do so in hushed tones.

Bai Sinian and Bian Rui saw Cui Yeyi and the others on the third floor of the cafeteria, and Cui Yeyi had once again run ahead to secure the seats.

Bai Sinian got his food and sat down, letting out a light sigh.

“You’ve all heard about it, right?” Cui Yeyi asked.

Bai Sinian nodded, his face drained of color, looking weary and powerless.

Shen Bei thoughtfully transferred an egg in his bowl to Bai Sinian’s plate, Bai Sinian forced a slight smile and muttered a thank you.

Fan Hongyi had already finished eating, sitting on the side and picking his teeth, “Ah, I never expected there to be such an incident right here, were there no one who noticed before? Or did they know but didn’t dare tell the teachers? Or did the teachers know but didn’t handle it?”

Bian Rui gripped his chopsticks, still not eating, he coldly said, “Guessing about this now is meaningless, we should think about what we can do.”

Cui Yeyi deliberately snapped at him, “What can we do? We’re just students, anything we do will be suppressed.”

Bian Rui didn’t respond to him, his eyes fixed on his untouched plate, “What were your initial intentions when you wanted to form a band?”

This question silenced the entire table, Cui Yeyi was just trying to look cool, Fan Hongyi just wanted someone to play with. Bai Sinian’s gaze fell on Shen Bei, blinking at him to signal that he should speak first.

Anything to break this awkward silence.

Shen Bei stammered, “I, I just saw that the band was recruiting new members, so I came to try it out… I didn’t think that much about it.”

Bai Sinian pushed the hot seaweed egg drop soup towards Bian Rui, “Drink some soup first, and then slowly say.”

“I hope our band can bring something different to life, promote the right direction, and speak up against injustice.”

“Then, do you want to speak up for this incident?” Fan Hongyi asked weakly.

Bian Rui picked up the soup and drank it all in one go, Bai Sinian quickly took the empty bowl and went to get him another.

“That’s easy, we’ll gather all the classmates in an open space, and then sing a subversive song to express our determination!” Cui Yeyi proposed, “We can also distribute leaflets in advance so the leaders don’t know.”

Fan Hongyi raised both hands in approval, “Yes! We can set the stage on the main road between the male and female dorms.”

Bai Sinian was simply amazed by their brains, “Do you think this is the revolutionary era? By the time we’ve moved the equipment over, it might already have been confiscated halfway.”

Shen Bei: “We can sing that song ‘Rose Youth’.”

“No, we have to create our own.” Bian Rui finally started eating.

The others had all finished eating long ago, now just sitting around waiting for Bian Rui, most of the classmates had also finished and left the cafeteria, the auntie was cleaning up.

Cui Yeyi had a sour expression, “With our skill level, can we even create our own stuff?”

Fan Hongyi, “Yeah, I can’t.”

Bian Rui kept his head down, eating in silence, the contours of his cheeks bulging as he chewed forcefully, making his jawline look even more perfect. Bai Sinian pretended to play with his phone, sneaking another photo.

Bai Sinian put away his phone silently, “I can try the lyrics.”

“What about the music then? The music is the key, right?”

“Making a rap shouldn’t be too hard, right?”

“Yeah, rap is all about that rhythm!”

After Bian Rui finished eating, they basically settled on the plan – Bian Rui would compose the music, Bai Sinian would write the lyrics, then Bai Sinian would film their song and post it on Weibo.

Although currently among the classmates, not many used Weibo, as long as someone shared it, it would be seen by countless people.

The cafeteria auntie saw these few kids hadn’t left yet, and was about to go and hurry them along.

“Let’s go!” Bian Rui instructed everyone on what to do, then stood up with his empty tray.

The group all carried their empty trays to the cafeteria’s food waste area, Shen Bei was the last one, grabbing a few paper towels to help wipe the tables, “Auntie, sorry for holding up your work.”

“No problem, no problem, you go to class now!” The auntie felt especially delighted to see such high-quality students.

Shen Bei followed the others and put away his tray, then left the cafeteria.

The afternoon sunlight was unusually dazzling, but Bai Sinian felt surprisingly comfortable, he had a feeling they were about to do something meaningful! Even if they hadn’t started yet.

Although the “Dazzling Stars” lacked business ability, they had Bian Rui! That youthful righteousness, it was really touching, he had never chased the wrong idols all these years!

The whole afternoon classes were drowsy, the high school classroom atmosphere was lifeless.

Bai Sinian was alert and energetic, but his attention was not on the class, instead he was writing and scribbling in his notebook.

By dinnertime, Bai Sinian went to his locker to get his phone, finding several friend requests. As he walked to the cafeteria, he accepted them one by one.

“Bai Sinian, I’m one of Bian Rui’s classmates, the one who went to the principal’s office with you all last time. This is what we took at Lin Yuting’s seat.”

Bai Sinian opened it to find photos and videos, all evidence of Lin Yuting being bullied. He looked at it, horrified.

“Thank you.”

Next, other classmates sent him some videos, showing that Lin Yuting’s water cup in her dorm was full of dirt.

Bai Sinian’s grip on his phone tightened, this was just too much!

He still replied with thanks for everyone providing these materials.

“Bai Sinian, how’s the lyric writing going?” Bian Rui’s voice suddenly sounded beside him.

“I’ve written some, after dinner you can take a look.”

“Okay.”
