Flash Marriage with My Ex-Boyfriend’s Nemesis chapter 24 PART 2
PART 2
The usually monotonous and austere study had a softer color because of her presence.
Gu Youchen watched quietly without disturbing Ning Qingqing.
Ning Qingqing didn’t realize that she had heard the sound of the door closing until she finished writing her notes. She turned to look and saw Gu Youchen leaning against the door.
He was standing there, and she didn’t know how long he had been standing.
Ning Qingqing quickly got up to explain: “I’ll be joining Ningchuang Capital soon, so I’m looking at the relevant project information. I borrowed your computer.”
“En.” Gu Youchen walked over, his tone natural: “Qingqing, we’re married now. Everything in the house is yours, use it as you please.”
“Ah—” Ning Qingqing felt she should say something, so she blurted out: “Then I can use yours as I please too.”
Seeing her serious yet adorable expression, Gu Youchen couldn’t help but smile: “Oh, what are you planning to use first, Qingqing?”
Ning Qingqing was startled, realizing she hadn’t brought anything with her, so she could only tentatively say: “Alipay?” That was the only thing she could share right now.
The smile in Gu Youchen’s eyes deepened: “Okay, then Qingqing will support me from now on.”
Seeing his reaction, Ning Qingqing immediately realized that Gu Youchen was teasing her. She rarely had the chance to joke around: “Alright, 500 yuan allowance per month.”
Gu Youchen looked hurt: “Qingqing, my cousin gets 800 yuan a month. Why do I only get 500? I want what other husbands have.”
Hearing the word “husband,” Ning Qingqing’s breath tightened slightly, then she pretended to be calm: “Alright, 900 yuan for you, 100 more than others.”
Gu Youchen nodded: “Okay.”
As he spoke, he actually took out his payment code.
Ning Qingqing transferred him 900 yuan, with the note: Allowance.
Gu Youchen replied with an emoji: a bowing man, with the words: Thank you, wife.
He didn’t send a single word, it was purely an emoji, but it seemed to say everything.
Ning Qingqing looked up at Gu Youchen, feeling like he was flirting with her.
“Are you hungry?” Gu Youchen stopped teasing Ning Qingqing: “Let’s go eat, and then go to your apartment.”
The two drove to eat. Ning Qingqing was still thinking about the “allowance” incident, but when she went to the restroom, she asked the waiter, and the waiter said that the restaurant was partly owned by Gu Youchen. Meals were directly billed, and no payment was needed.
She couldn’t help but laugh. She didn’t mention it but went straight to her apartment with Gu Youchen.
The apartment was bought by her father shortly after she graduated, saying it was to compensate for the years he hadn’t taken good care of her.
Moving to Gu Youchen’s place didn’t mean she couldn’t come here anymore, so Ning Qingqing only packed the clothes and daily necessities she needed for this season.
There were two boxes, which Gu Youchen directly carried into the car. Before going home, they went to a nearby membership supermarket.
There weren’t many people in the supermarket at this time. They first went to the daily necessities area to pick out some things, and then went to the fresh food area to buy groceries.
On the other side, a young man pushed a shopping cart, waiting for his mother to pick out groceries.
He casually glanced around and saw Ning Qingqing.
“Sister-in-law?” Chen Yue didn’t notice Gu Youchen picking out beef a few meters away. He smiled at Ning Qingqing: “Are you here alone? Didn’t Brother Qian come?”
Ning Qingqing recognized him as Shen Zhiqian’s friend. She had met him a few times at the club before.
It seemed that her breakup with Shen Zhiqian was still unknown to his circle, but Ning Qingqing felt she had no obligation to explain.
After all, she probably wouldn’t have any interaction with these people in the future.
“Sorry, you must have mistaken me. I’m not your sister-in-law.” Ning Qingqing politely smiled: “Excuse me.”
Then she walked to Gu Youchen’s side.
Chen Yue watched her turn around and muttered to himself: “I didn’t make a mistake!”
He was even more confused when he saw Ning Qingqing talking to a man. When the man turned around, Chen Yue recognized him as Shen Zhiqian’s nemesis, Gu Youchen.
“She’s really not the sister-in-law?” He murmured in doubt: “If she were the sister-in-law, she couldn’t be with Gu Youchen…”
Still very confused, he took out his phone and secretly took a picture of Ning Qingqing.
He sent the photo to Shen Zhiqian and asked: “Brother Qian, did I really mistake her? She looks so much like Sister-in-law!”
In Shen Corporation’s office, Shen Zhiqian had just finished a meeting.
He hadn’t slept all night and had a headache. He heard a phone notification, picked it up, and glanced at it casually.
The moment he saw the photo, Shen Zhiqian’s gaze froze. Even without enlarging the picture, he recognized Ning Qingqing… and Gu Youchen beside her.
The man was holding a box of beef, talking to Ning Qingqing. Ning Qingqing looked up at him, a sweet smile on her lips.
The setting was clearly a supermarket.
Shen Zhiqian felt that the psychological expectations he had just built this morning were at risk of collapsing at any moment.
Although going to the supermarket didn’t necessarily mean anything, if they were just a plastic couple, they wouldn’t need to cook at home, and there would be no need to go shopping together for groceries.
Shen Zhiqian tried to convince himself—
Gu Youchen was deliberately misleading Ning Qingqing, simply trying to delay the divorce.
Gu Youchen, who was mentally labeled as “delaying the divorce,” chose various ingredients and pushed the shopping cart to the checkout.
Ning Qingqing walked beside him. Passing a chocolate rack, she saw a soft-centered chocolate she liked.
She’d lost weight recently, so she could eat a little.
And—
If the man beside her liked sweets, he should also like chocolate?
Ning Qingqing stopped at the rack, choosing two flavors she liked, one original milk chocolate, and one hazelnut.
The hazelnut one was a bit high, and as she was about to reach for it, a hand reached out and took it for her.
Ning Qingqing looked up and saw the hazelnut chocolate in Gu Youchen’s hand, asking: “Do you like chocolate?”
Gu Youchen nodded: “I usually eat original flavor.”
“Then get another original flavor.” Ning Qingqing took another box from the bottom shelf and said to Gu Youchen: “Try the hazelnut flavor later, I think it’s pretty good.”
“Do you want to try coconut and sweet orange?” Gu Youchen saw these two flavors on the top shelf.
“Ah? I’ve never tried them. They must be new flavors.” Ning Qingqing looked up.
Gu Youchen took a box of each, except for the dark chocolate, and put them all into the shopping cart.
Ning Qingqing muttered behind him: “Oops, I’m going to get fat.”
“A little fat is just right. You’re too thin now.” Gu Youchen said naturally: “If you’re still thin after marrying me, it’s my fault.”
Hmm, that sounds a little…
The two went home together. Ning Qingqing tidied her clothes and belongings into the guest room, while Gu Youchen put away the groceries and cleaned the ingredients they would eat tonight.
Seeing that Ning Qingqing was finished, he took a stack of property brochures from his briefcase and beckoned Ning Qingqing over: “Qingqing, which one are you interested in?”
Ning Qingqing sat next to him and began to look at the brochures.
Her gaze was drawn to one villa community. The entire community was designed in a classical garden style, and the villas also had pavilions and towers.
Seeing her gaze on it, Gu Youchen said: “We can buy the land first, and then, according to the area of land we purchase, either the construction company or we can design it ourselves, so the appearance of each villa will be different.”
Ning Qingqing nodded. The design examples reminded her of the water towns of the Jiangnan region, where she had lived with her grandmother.
She looked at the address and found that the villa area was not far from the Ningchuang Capital office building, only about 20 minutes’ drive away.
Already having a preference, Ning Qingqing looked at the other properties with little interest.
Beside her, Gu Youchen accompanied her through all the brochures and said: “Qingqing, which one do you like? Let’s both say what we think.”
Ning Qingqing looked up: “Which one do you like?”
Gu Youchen opened the brochure of the garden-style villa: “I think this one is good. I have a friend who is a building designer. If we buy this one, we can ask him for help.”
Ning Qingqing didn’t expect that the one she liked was also Gu Youchen’s favorite. She couldn’t help but brighten up: “I like this one too.”
“Then let’s tentatively decide on this one.” Gu Youchen said directly: “Shall we go and see it in person now?”
Ning Qingqing was surprised by his decisive action: “So soon?”
Gu Youchen smiled, meaningfully: “If you like something, you have to go and get it. Otherwise, you’ll regret it if someone else grabs it.”
He thought of the scene when he met Ning Qingqing in the small town.
He was just a step too late, and then lost contact with her. When he saw her again, she was already Shen Zhiqian’s girlfriend.
Everyone said that she and Shen Zhiqian were deeply in love. He had seen them together, and she laughed very happily, so he didn’t bother her.
It wasn’t until two years later when he returned to China that he drove past the financial street and saw her alone, sad. That’s when he knew that she wasn’t as happy with Shen Zhiqian as everyone said.
If that’s the case, then let’s go for it.
She broke up, he married her.
No hesitation, no regrets left for the future.
