Flash Marriage with My Ex-Boyfriend’s Nemesis chapter 49.2

Part 2

Gu Youchen’s gaze remained fixed on Ning Qingqing. Watching her write with fluid grace, his mind involuntarily conjured up an image of the girl practicing calligraphy in Qingtang Town.

Although he hadn’t seen it, he had seen the small bridges, flowing water, and the tranquil atmosphere of her hometown.

She must have stood by the window, with the murmuring stream below, writing seriously as the light from outside shone through the lattice window, making the young girl’s skin appear translucent and white.

He suddenly really wanted to go to Qingtang Town with her.

When Ning Qingqing finished a sheet, Old Master Tan exclaimed first, “Good! Very good! It has the charm of Elder Zhang!”

Ning Qingqing looked up and smiled. “Grandpa Tan, don’t praise me too much, or I’ll get arrogant.”

Everyone laughed. Someone who received the scroll first looked at Old Master Tan’s handwriting and then at Ning Qingqing’s, sighing in admiration. “The younger generation is to be feared!”

Eight sheets of Xuan paper were completed by their joint efforts. Shen Yeyuan managed to acquire one of them.

Shen Zhiyu looked at the calligraphy on it, her tone sour. “When did she learn this? My brother didn’t even know!”

Shen Yeyuan glanced at his daughter. “Is she like you? All day long you only know how to buy bags and jewelry, refusing to learn anything!”

Shen Zhiyu couldn’t help but retort, “No matter how good she is, it has nothing to do with us anymore!”

Thinking of his sick son at home, and then looking at Ning Qingqing beside Ning Ruojun, Shen Yeyuan felt an indescribable suffocation in his chest.

If he hadn’t hinted at his disapproval back then, would things be…

Sigh, the wood is already made into a boat. I only hope my son can get over it soon.

Over there, after Ning Qingqing finished writing, she packed up the tools with Old Master Tan’s grandson, completely ignoring Gu Youchen.

Just then, Gu Youchen’s phone rang. He picked it up and saw it was a message from Tan Xin—

“According to my observation, your wife is jealous. Congratulations!”

Actually, she hadn’t been sure earlier. Seeing Ning Qingqing chatting and laughing freely, she seemed not to mind at all.

But later she was certain. Ning Qingqing was deliberately ignoring Gu Youchen. It showed their relationship was actually quite good. She just hadn’t expected that Gu Youchen would have moments of such insecurity!

Tan Xin continued sending messages: “I noticed she is deliberately ignoring you. Some girls like to write their emotions on their faces, while others are more introverted, but you can always find clues. Anyway, I can confirm that she cares about you. So, you’ve offended her now. Hurry up and find a chance to coax your white moonlight!”

Gu Youchen finished reading and quickly put away his phone.

Just as he was about to go find Ning Qingqing, she had already turned and walked away.

Gu Youchen hurriedly caught up to her. “Qingqing.”

Ning Qingqing raised her hand, signaling him to move aside, and said coolly, “I have ink on my hands. I’m going to wash them.”

Gu Youchen walked beside her. “I’ll go with you.”

“No need.” Ning Qingqing didn’t stop walking. “Go chat with your old acquaintances.”

Gu Youchen had been half-skeptical of Tan Xin’s words, but hearing this, he was finally sure.

He couldn’t help but quickly curve the corners of his lips up, then tried hard to pull them back down. “It’s okay. I’ll accompany my wife. I don’t want to chat with anyone else.”

Ning Qingqing ignored him and walked straight to the restroom.

Gu Youchen waited for her in the corridor.

When Ning Qingqing came out after washing and tidying up, the man grabbed her hand.

“Qingqing, let’s go outside for some fresh air.” As he spoke, Gu Youchen pulled her towards a small door at the other end of the corridor.

Because everyone was in the main hall, Ning Qingqing didn’t dare make a scene, so she followed Gu Youchen to the garden in the back.

As soon as they stood behind the rockery, seeing no one around, the man lowered his head to kiss her.

Ning Qingqing dodged. “What are you doing? We’re outside.”

Seeing the girl’s puffed-up cheeks, Gu Youchen held her hand and said seriously:

“Qingqing, listen to my explanation. Tan Xin and I are just ordinary classmates. I have never liked her, and she only treats me as an ordinary classmate. Don’t misunderstand.”

Ning Qingqing hadn’t expected Gu Youchen to explain so directly. She huffed, “When did I misunderstand?”

Gu Youchen had to play along with her words. “My Qingqing didn’t misunderstand. I was afraid Qingqing might misunderstand.”

Ning Qingqing turned her head away and ignored him.

Although she ignored him, the anger in her heart inexplicably dissipated by a small half.

Gu Youchen continued to coax her. “Tan Xin told me just now that she has a boyfriend. They are getting ready to marry, and she plans to bring him to meet her parents this time.”

Ning Qingqing actually didn’t know this, so she perked up her ears to listen.

She couldn’t help but grumble internally: If she has a boyfriend, why say all those misleading things?

Gu Youchen pretended not to notice Ning Qingqing softening and continued as if chatting casually, “We met at the restroom entrance earlier. I told her I was married. She thought it was incredible and said she thought I was gay.”

Ning Qingqing couldn’t help but turn to look at Gu Youchen. “Did you act like you were gay before?”

Gu Youchen didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “In what way was I like that? It’s just because I never had a girlfriend and never accepted anyone’s confession, so they speculated privately. Now that I’ve married you, I’ve finally cleared my name.”

Most of Ning Qingqing’s unhappiness dissipated, but she still said haughtily, “Oh, so a lot of people confessed to you before?”

Gu Youchen hadn’t expected that after his long explanation, this would be Ning Qingqing’s focus.

He chuckled low. “So Qingqing is still jealous?”

Is his little wife a little vinegar jar?

Joy and surprise rose in his heart because, for the first time since they got married, he truly felt that Ning Qingqing cared about him romantically.

Unlike the sense of responsibility toward each other in a marriage, this stemmed from an inner possessiveness toward another person.

She wasn’t jealous because he was her husband; she was jealous because she cared about him.

Excitement surged, and the blood in his entire body seemed to clamor!

Caught being jealous, Ning Qingqing felt like a cat whose tail had been stepped on and immediately bristled.

Gu Youchen found it cute but was afraid Ning Qingqing would get truly upset, so he quickly explained, “Qingqing, when others confessed to me, I rejected them before I even saw their faces clearly.”

Ning Qingqing huffed.

Gu Youchen thought of something, and his tone became strange. “On the other hand, Old Master Tan… I saw he liked you quite a bit. He kept greeting you, and when he heard you married me, he even expressed regret on behalf of his grandson!”

Oh, this time it was Gu Youchen’s turn to be jealous.

Thinking of this, his tone wasn’t great. “The Second Young Master Tan just said he had seen your photo before.”

Ning Qingqing was confused. “When?”

I don’t even know him, okay?

Gu Youchen said, “Probably shown to Old Master Tan by your mother.”

Seeing his unhappy look, the last bit of sulkiness in Ning Qingqing’s heart vanished.

She explained, “I don’t know him at all. I’ve never met him before, and I didn’t know Grandpa Tan wanted to play matchmaker.”

Gu Youchen pretended to still be a bit angry, but after a few seconds, he seemed to realize something and asked, “So, Qingqing, don’t be mad at me anymore. The topic I chatted about with Tan Xin just now was entirely about you.”

Ning Qingqing indeed wasn’t angry anymore, but she was too proud to admit it.

But the man in front of her nuzzled her, lowering his head to whisper in her ear, “Qingqing, I’ve never liked anyone else. I only like you.”

Suddenl confessed to, Ning Qingqing’s heart skipped a beat.

Gu Youchen’s kiss had already landed on the tip of her ear.

Instantly, a numbing shiver ran through her, making her draw a sharp breath.

He bit lightly and said, “So, please, Qingqing, only like me from now on too.”

Whatever happened in the past was in the past. He only wanted the future.

As long as Ning Qingqing only liked him in the future, that was enough.

Ning Qingqing’s breath trembled. Before she could speak, Gu Youchen nuzzled her again, kissing her sensitive earlobe.

Ning Qingqing couldn’t help but let out a soft whimper.

She surrendered. “Okay, I promise.”

Note: Someone is plotting every step of the way, even getting an advance on Qingqing’s confession during his own! Qingqing: Some people seem innocent like elementary schoolers on the surface, but are actually calculating old foxes. I’ve been tricked!
