Chapter 16: The Adorable Little Spiky Ball
“What do we do next?”
Qin Xiao looked at Ji Nian. “Should I climb over and carry you over?”
Ji Nian didn’t even look at him. He walked towards the iron plate, reached out and knocked on it. “We’re not infected; we’re here to find family. Open the door.”
Qin Xiao leaned against the car, glanced around, and smiled. “Do you think they’ll listen to you? Don’t dream.”
Then, he aimed at a spot above the iron plate, ran, and leaped. The iron plate was about three meters high. He was agile, used the iron plate for leverage, and grabbed the steel bars above in a few moves.
Damn!
The two burly men standing there were stunned, frozen like statues.
“Qin Xiao!”
Ji Nian looked a little nervous.
The iron plate and steel bars were for defense against zombies. There must be people inside. Was this idiot not afraid of being mistaken for a zombie and losing his head?
“Big brother, stop, stop, stop!!”
“Stop, stop, stop! Big brother, big brother, don’t you recognize me? I’m Lao Qin.”
“You don’t even recognize Lao Qin? Damn, are you still my brother? Two years ago, we went to the trees to get bird eggs together. I fell out of the tree, and you laughed at me for a whole street!”
“Remember?”
Then he heard Qin Xiao chatting casually with the people inside the iron plate.
“Don’t remember? No way, brother, you’re breaking your little brother’s heart.”
“Let me tell you something else. That year, you broke a stack of bowls and your dad chased you half a street. You cried your heart out. You remember that…”
“…Qin Ge?”
Suddenly, a dark-faced boy hesitantly called out his name.
To be honest, Qin Xiao didn’t recognize him at first, but whether he recognized him or not, he had to greet him first. “Ah! It’s you?! That’s great!”
The dark-faced boy was quite excited, his eyes a little red. “It really is you, Qin Ge. I thought I’d never see you again!”
Qin Xiao also looked distressed. “Yeah, I thought I was going to die. It took me a week to get here. I had nothing to eat or drink. I was chased by zombies along the way. My will is in my backpack.”
“I had nowhere else to go, and I wanted to see my grandmother before I died.”
Qin Xiao was quite dramatic, even wiping his eyes to create a pitiful image.
Seeing this, the dark-faced boy patted his chest. “Qin Ge, wait for me. I’ll go get your grandmother!”
“…Okay.”
Qin Xiao jumped down from the iron plate, and the two burly men immediately ran over. “How is it? How did it go?”
“It worked!”
However, his grandmother lived in the mountains in the village, and the mountain roads were difficult to navigate. It would take about half a day to go back and forth.
Qin Xiao walked to the car, opened the door, and got in.
After they got in the car, they rarely got out except to relieve themselves.
They saw two zombies walking together. Qin Xiao patted Ji Nian’s shoulder and said, “Look! Zombies!”
As a result, Ji Nian almost kicked him out of the car to become buddies with the two zombies.
Zombies are excellent at biting people, but they only attack when they see people.
They were sitting in the car; the windows were tinted, and zombies had poor eyesight. They didn’t notice them.
Although the windshield was transparent, the zombies were blind and just walked away.
The iron plate’s defense was also good. There was no sound from that end, and the zombies simply went back where they came from.
However, the two burly men screamed when they saw the zombies, alerting them, and they had a bit of a tussle.
There was still plenty of food in the backpacks.
Ji Nian took out a box of biscuits, tore it open, and put it on the storage box between them. They ate one after another.
The seats were reclined quite a bit. They were lying down, and neither of them looked at each other when they took biscuits. Occasionally, their hands would touch.
The car windows were tightly closed, and Qin Xiao felt a little hot, so he took off his outer jacket and wore only a short T-shirt.
Ji Nian glanced at him. When he bent his arm, his muscles were well-defined; he had that “thin when dressed, muscular when undressed” physique.
Noticing Ji Nian staring at him, Qin Xiao lifted the hem of his short T-shirt, revealing his well-defined abs.
“Look, look all you want.”
Qin Xiao laughed, touching his abs. “I was planning to use this to attract girls, but you’re fine too. You’re so delicate.”
“Delicate your ass.”
Ji Nian cursed.
Qin Xiao didn’t mind; he kept his shirt lifted, showing it off as if he were boasting, lamenting about his nineteen years of life. “I feel quite cheated. I haven’t done anything yet, and the world has become so messed up.”
“I watched Japanese movies before, and I fantasized about what it would feel like to have a girl’s hand touch me. Before I could experience that, almost all the women turned into zombies.”
“That’s fine too,” Ji Nian chuckled. “It feels even better.”
“Better? It’s more like being bitten to death.”
Qin Xiao shook his head. “I don’t know if I’ll ever lose my virginity.”
“…”
Ji Nian ignored him. He didn’t get tired of talking. “I kind of regret it. Back in school, more than half of the girls confessed to me.”
“I thought, for my first time, I had to give it to the one I liked the most. But unfortunately, my standards were too high, and I never found anyone I liked.”
“What about you? Have you ever had a girlfriend?”
Qin Xiao looked at him.
Ji Nian was lying there. From Qin Xiao’s angle, his nose was straight, his lips were rosy, and his eyelashes were long; he looked just like a girl with short hair.
He took out his phone, opened the camera, and took a picture.
The quiet “girl” heard the “click” and, as if her inner demon had been unleashed, turned her head to look at him, her expression icy cold, and reached out to him. “Give it to me.”
Qin Xiao put his phone back in his pocket, feigning ignorance. “What?”
Ji Nian sat up and looked at him. “You’re not giving it to me, right?”
“Yeah, I’m not.”
Qin Xiao admitted it; he wondered what Ji Nian could do to him.
“Delete the picture.”
“You don’t look ugly. Why delete it?”
Qin Xiao asked back, looking at Ji Nian’s cold expression. Tsk, he’s a spiky ball again.
So cute.
Ji Nian couldn’t hear his thoughts, or he would definitely call him a pervert.
Actually, Qin Xiao thought he was quite a pervert himself. Ever since he met Ji Nian, this boy had been adorable, adorable, adorable to him endlessly.
