Forcibly Wooing in the Apocalypse, A Little Clinginess in Brother’s Embrace CHAPTER 17

Chapter 17: Don’t Ever Talk to Me Again

No way…him??

Qin Xiao’s heart sank! Damn it! He felt like he was in trouble!

Ji Nian clenched his fists, cracking his knuckles, and asked Qin Xiao again if he would delete the photo. When Qin Xiao stubbornly refused, Ji Nian pounced on him like a wolf cub, reaching into his pocket to grab the phone.

His hoodie was loose, subtly revealing the youthful curve of his waist. His neck was long and slender, right in front of Qin Xiao’s eyes.

Seeing that his phone was about to be snatched, Qin Xiao’s mind went blank. He didn’t even know what he was doing until he realized his lips were already pressed against Ji Nian’s neck.

For a moment, the world fell silent.

Ji Nian’s eyes trembled, his body stiffening. His grip on Qin Xiao’s phone loosened.

The next moment, he turned his head slowly. Qin Xiao would never forget Ji Nian’s expression at that moment—the look in his eyes, his demeanor—he felt like he was about to die.

Without a word, he opened the car door and ran. Ji Nian chased after him, brandishing his spiked club, looking like it was a fight to the death.

The two burly men in the other car watched them curiously and asked—

“What are they doing?”

“I don’t know, but I guess…they’re flirting?”

Qin Xiao maintained some restraint; he didn’t dare run too far. He was chased by the little wolf cub, Ji Nian, in the vicinity.

Ji Nian had incredible stamina. He chased Qin Xiao for almost an hour. No matter how much Qin Xiao apologized or said sorry, it was useless.

Even the “Just kiss me back, and we’ll be even” didn’t work.

Finally, a few small zombies appeared, and they got back into the car, ending the endless chase.

Both of them were breathless, their chests heaving, and their foreheads covered in a thin layer of sweat.

In the confined space of the car, Qin Xiao said, “I didn’t mean to. I didn’t mean anything by it. Don’t misunderstand.”

Ji Nian took out a water bottle and drank. His jawline was tightly set. As he swallowed, his slightly protruding Adam’s apple moved up and down. A drop of water dripped from his mouth, flowing down the graceful curve of his neck, incredibly sexy.

Putting the bottle down, he casually wiped his mouth with his sleeve and coldly said, “Don’t talk to me from now on.”

“No, you’re really angry…”

“…” Ji Nian’s icy glare came over. Okay, Qin Xiao shut his mouth.

“Hohohoho…”

Several small zombie children circled the car outside.

Finally, on their fourth circle, they discovered someone inside the car.

Calling the zombies “children” wasn’t meant as a compliment to their cuteness; they were really children.

They looked eight or nine years old, wearing clothes with cartoon patterns, but they were tattered and disfigured.

Upon discovering someone inside the car, they immediately rushed to the windows, their mouths gaping open to bite the windows as if starved mad. They were anything but cute.

The car windows were just ordinary material, but the zombies didn’t punch or hammer them, so they were relatively safe inside. Normally, the windows wouldn’t be broken by them.

Qin Xiao was a little annoyed, not only because these zombies wouldn’t leave the windows but also because Ji Nian was ignoring him.

He was handsome too. It was just a kiss; was it really necessary?

He rested his head against the headrest and looked at Ji Nian.

Ji Nian kept staring at the window on his side, at the few zombies, his vigilant eyes never blinking, his thoughts unknown.

Qin Xiao opened his mouth to say something, but the cold words, “Don’t talk to me from now on,” echoed in his mind.

Forget it.

Don’t bother him anymore.

By dusk on the second day, the zombies hadn’t left and a few more adult zombies had arrived. Damn it! Were they all having a party here?

Qin Xiao, constantly ignored by Ji Nian, was getting annoyed. Staring at the zombies outside the window, he really wanted to go out and fight.

“Where’s my grandson?”

Inside the iron plate enclosure, Qin Xiao’s grandmother, Han Qing, arrived and asked the guards.

More than half of the people in the village were still alive because it was remote and not severely affected during the initial virus outbreak.

After seeing the news reports, they immediately took emergency measures.

There happened to be an iron plate factory in the village, and everyone worked together to secure the plates firmly.

Where the iron plates were insufficient, they built walls. Now the village was completely self-sufficient and relatively manageable.

Zombies were attracted by noise, so no one dared to speak loudly.

Qin Xiao’s grandmother’s voice was low as she asked the guard again, “Where’s my grandson?”

“He’s outside,” said a flat-topped guard. “We haven’t confirmed if he’s infected, so we haven’t…”

“Bang.”

Han Qing pushed him aside. “Don’t waste my time. Get me an axe.”

“No, we can’t,” the guard immediately realized what she was going to do. “There are more than ten zombies outside now. Going out is a death sentence…”

“What depressing talk?”

Han Qing dropped the cigarette she was smoking, grinding it out with her shoe, displaying a fierce demeanor. “He’s my only grandson. If those ugly things eat him, are you going to compensate me?”

“…” Seeing her determination, the guard could only give her the axe.

It was a custom-made axe with a handle about a meter long and a sharp blade.

She took it and walked out, saying while waiting for the guard to open the iron plate, “Close the door and don’t come out.”

The dark-faced boy wanted to follow her, but she stopped him. “What are you meddling in? If you die, your father will come looking for me. Should I bring him a zombie’s head?”

Han Qing was just sixty, with a strong body and physique.

She was widowed at twenty-eight and raised her son alone. After her husband died, she was driven out by her in-laws.

The reason was simple: they said she had killed her husband.

Ridiculously laughable.

Even more laughable was that she herself believed it.

Honestly, Han Qing was quite pretty when she was young. After her husband died, countless men tried to get close to her.

It was impossible for a woman with a child to not be afraid.

In those days, returning to her parents’ home would only cause trouble for them, so she stayed away with her son.

Women are naturally gentle, but mothers are strong, especially when she had lost her husband. She was practically invincible.

She had to protect her son. She had to make a life in the village.

Those men didn’t fancy her, did they?

She directly crippled one of them! She became famous after that battle, and no man dared to hit on her again.

Because of this, she got a nickname—Biao Qing (Fierce Qing).

But so what? It didn’t hurt her.

The world is that realistic. Otherwise, you have money or power. If you have one of those two things, no one dares to provoke you.

Actually, there’s another way, which is to be fearless, to fear nothing!

The strong prey on the weak. The strong survive; it’s not only true for wild animals, but also for humans.

Therefore, Han Qing became more and more fierce after being alone, using fierceness to mask her strength. Over time, that disguise had become a part of her being and could not be removed.
