Chapter 17: Kiss
“Eat you.”
Caught off guard by a sneak attack, Qin Huai felt Duan Ke’s hand trembling, causing that place to tremble along with it, shockingly stimulating.
“Let go.” Qin Huai frowned immediately to stop him, his tone not severe but allowing no refusal. “Behave.”
Duan Ke didn’t behave; he continued doing as he pleased.
Qin Huai was made numb. He let out a low gasp, his ears turning red rapidly. But his expression remained faint; looking at his face alone, one couldn’t tell what inhuman endurance he was undergoing.
Qin Huai calmly removed his thumb from Duan Ke’s mouth, reached out to clasp Duan Ke’s hand, and skillfully controlled it above Duan Ke’s head. His eyes were frighteningly dark, but his voice was calm, hiding a hint of indistinct desire for control.
“You have a fever. You’re not lucid, correct?”
This sentence wasn’t a question at all, just him finding a very reasonable excuse for Duan Ke’s actions on his own.
But Duan Ke was rarely disobedient tonight; he didn’t follow his lead at all.
“No… I don’t have a fever.”
The little succubus mumbled with unclear consciousness. Many broken, meaningless syllables squeezed out from his wet, red lips—soft and sticky, tickling Qin Huai’s heart.
A car drove quickly past outside, its headlights briefly illuminating the room. Only then did Qin Huai truly see Duan Ke’s face clearly.
The small, exquisite face was completely soaked by his tears, glistening with water, pitiful to the extreme.
Those eerie, beautiful vertical pupils were dilated and unfocused, as if he had been messed with until nearly losing consciousness. He looked dangerous yet lacked any deterrence.
“I am in… heat.”
The explicit words made Qin Huai’s eyes instantly darken. The hand controlling Duan Ke tightened. Both of Duan Ke’s wrists were clasped by Qin Huai; he could only twist his waist uncomfortably, trying to rub against Qin Huai’s hip bone.
“I feel so uncomfortable… woo woo woo…”
Duan Ke wriggled ceaselessly in Qin Huai’s arms like a wet fish. Qin Huai lifted his lean, powerful waist, dodging upward somewhat wretchedly, but was still caught off guard by Duan Ke’s success, letting out a heavy, muffled groan.
This sound was very low, but Duan Ke seemed to catch the signal emitted by the food. His two imprisoned wrists struggled desperately like crazy, as if he would die immediately if he didn’t eat Qin Huai in the next second.
Duan Ke just has a good temper; he isn’t weak.
Qin Huai finally thoroughly confirmed this point now.
He was negligent for just half a second, and the hand restraining Duan Ke was knocked away by a immense force. Duan Ke’s slender, fair wrists reached straight for him with marvelous speed, completely unavoidable.
In that instant, Qin Huai was prepared to be strangled fiercely by Duan Ke. He calmly and quickly thought of counter-measures that wouldn’t hurt Duan Ke.
But the next second, a soft warmth wrapped around his waist and tightened.
Duan Ke hugged him.
He buried his wet little face in Qin Huai’s chest and cried woo woo.
Qin Huai hugged back with somewhat stiff movements. The size difference allowed him to easily encircle the tiny succubus within his territory. The whole world fell silent, as if only the two of them remained alive between heaven and earth. Qin Huai could only hear his own somewhat heavy panting and Duan Ke’s soft, aggrieved crying.
His heart didn’t dare beat; he seemed to have forgotten how to breathe, staring blankly at the person in his arms.
Just now, he could feel the strength Duan Ke exerted like he was dying—that desperate resistance of a last struggle.
Duan Ke’s hands were so soft. To break free from his restraint, his palms were probably rubbed red and painful, and his wrists might be sore tomorrow from overexertion.
Such a desperate struggle.
Turns out he just wanted to hug me.
After understanding this, Qin Huai’s dark eyes filled with an excitement so calm it was extreme; he was going crazy. But his heart ached from Duan Ke’s crying.
The Inquisitor only had experience dealing with monsters, not crybabies. He didn’t know what to do.
Qin Huai held Duan Ke tightly, thinking. Since I’ve confirmed Duan Ke has no malice toward humans, I need to take responsibility for the identity of “keeper.”
Doing what one promised—this was the standard Qin Huai had practiced all his life. So he wouldn’t leave Duan Ke’s side just because the mission was completed.
Of course, I’m not really unable to leave Duan Ke, nor do I really want to kiss Duan Ke.
Just a sense of responsibility born from this identity, Qin Huai thought.
He felt he had figured it out, so he leaned down with peace of mind. Qin Huai cupped Duan Ke’s wet face, distressingly stroked the tip of Duan Ke’s nose, red from crying, and coaxed in a low voice.
“Duan Ke, would you feel better if we kissed?”
Duan Ke hugged Qin Huai tightly, sobbing intermittently, refusing to let go or speak. Qin Huai looked down at him, knowing he was truly uncomfortable right now. So he patiently rubbed the back of Duan Ke’s head, then reached out to gently scratch Duan Ke’s chin, silently encouraging him to speak.
After being hugged and touched and coaxed for a long time, Duan Ke finally was willing to lift his face from Qin Huai’s chest.
His eyes were wet and bright, his voice very small and soft, his word order jumbled due to unclear consciousness.
“Kissing… will feel very comfortable. Like.”
“But it’s not time yet.”
Duan Ke lowered his eyes disappointedly again. Those vertical pupils appeared unusually bright in the darkness. “And you just got injured… what if you get…” kissed to death by me?
The “kissed to death” Duan Ke meant wasn’t flirtatious rhetoric; it was “kissed to death” in the physical sense, the kind where they’d need to call an ambulance tomorrow to carry the body away.
But he couldn’t finish this important second half of the sentence, interrupted by Qin Huai’s action that allowed no refusal.
A pair of large hands steadied Duan Ke’s chin, and then a soft, cool object pressed against his lips.
It was Qin Huai’s lips.
Duan Ke’s eyes widened abruptly. Qin Huai’s movements were very restrained and gentle. Duan Ke could feel his inexperience; he completely just pressed his lips against his, and then, as if not knowing what to do next, only pecked lightly.
Of course, Duan Ke was also very inexperienced.
He seemed to have no memory of kissing anyone, so he could only follow his instinct, hurriedly invading Qin Huai’s lips.
Their rapid, warm breaths mingled together; the wet sounds were distinctly clear in the quiet, dark bedroom.
Duan Ke anxiously stuck out the tip of his small tongue to find something to eat, but Qin Huai kept his lips tightly closed. Duan Ke’s tongue tip could only feel the soft flesh gradually warming up, but didn’t get the desired fluid.
So the two gnawed at each other for nearly half a minute. Duan Ke felt his lips were about to swell.
But! He!
Didn’t eat a single mouthful of anything!!
Duan Ke felt so aggrieved he was about to explode like a balloon. He was already starving to death, and his keeper still wouldn’t cooperate.
Duan Ke refused to kiss anymore. He pushed Qin Huai away with both hands, looked at him with those amber cat eyes, and complained aggrievedly, “Do you know how to do it or not…”
Qin Huai held Duan Ke’s waist with both hands, encircling the slender waist tightly. His eyelids lifted lazily, looking down at Duan Ke’s slightly red, wet lips.
I did that.
Qin Huai’s expression was restrained and calm, but anyone could see the subtle madness hidden in his eyes that couldn’t be concealed even with extreme restraint.
“I don’t. How can I know if you don’t teach me.”
Right, I forgot my keeper is someone who doesn’t even know how two boys do it.
Duan Ke thought hard with his brain that was already a paste. I want bodily fluids, so for Qin Huai to kiss me, he must give me saliva.
Then, how to get that?
“You have to stick out your tongue.” Duan Ke shook Qin Huai’s hand, like acting coquettishly.
“I have to stick mine out too. Our tongues have to touch together. That way I can eat your stuff into my stomach.”
Qin Huai fell silent again, only the hands wrapped around Duan Ke’s waist suddenly tightened, his breathing becoming two notches heavier.
Thinking he was unwilling again, Duan Ke was dying of anxiety. Suddenly, he had a bright idea, his paste-filled brain opening up another path that was more convenient and easier to coordinate.
“If you’re unwilling, forget it. How about I suck it out for you…”
In less than a second, Duan Ke was lifted up and pinned against the headboard. He shivered all over from fright, looking up to meet Qin Huai’s eyes—eyes sharp as cold knives, looking like they wished to swallow him whole.
“Do you know what you are saying?” Qin Huai enunciated heavily, the hand gripping Duan Ke’s chin using real strength. “Do you have a death wish?”
“Open your mouth.” Qin Huai, having reached the limit of his endurance, pushed his thumb into Duan Ke’s lips, staring coldly at his innocent eyes.
“You brought this on yourself; take it well.”
[Author’s Note] Baby Duan Ke, your butt will really blossom like this. [Crying] Mom really feels sorry for you now.
