Chapter 28: Big Baddie
Duan Ke was a succubus who really disliked fighting and killing.
One could say he had almost no temper at all: if a food delivery was late, he would worry if the rider had been caught in the rain; if he noted “no green onions” but the restaurant added them anyway, he would only silently block the shop. The angriest he had ever been in his life was when the Inquisitor issued the ban that forced him to starve, but even then, he only whispered complaints behind the man’s back.
But right now.
He really wanted the earth to explode.
Duan Ke pressed his forehead firmly against Qin Huai’s shoulder, trembling all over, soaking a patch of the fabric with his tears.
…It felt a bit shameful. What adult monster curled up in their keeper’s arms crying like this?
But Duan Ke simply didn’t have the courage to lift his head and look Qin Huai in the eye.
After thinking for a moment, Duan Ke made a very firm decision. He revealed his fluffy cat tail, wound it around from the back to the nape of Qin Huai’s neck, and gestured against the skin there.
Qin Huai’s voice was lazy and casual, sounding a bit hoarse due to the suppressed, subtle excitement. “…What’s wrong? Is it still uncomfortable?”
“…Mmph, wuwuwuwuwu.”
Hearing this string of unintelligible murmurs, Qin Huai paused for a moment before remembering that Duan Ke’s mouth was currently stuffed with his gloves.
He took a light breath to suppress the frantic restlessness deep in his heart, moved his shoulder slightly with amusement, and silently signaled for the person to lift his head.
But Duan Ke refused no matter what. He just silently pulled the gloves out himself, then buried his head back down.
“…Can I knock you out first, Brother?”
Duan Ke sounded weak and feeble, his tail measuring the angle against the back of Qin Huai’s head. “That way, maybe you won’t remember.”
They were currently in a stall in the restroom. Although the soundproofing was decent, they both kept their voices extremely low, communicating almost in breathy whispers. They were close enough to create the illusion of intimate pillow talk.
Qin Huai let out a muffled laugh, half-coaxing and half-deceiving Duan Ke as he negotiated, “Don’t. I’m a bit afraid of pain.”
The negotiation failed. The cat tail moved closer, attempting a sneak attack. “I’ll be gentle, it won’t hurt, Brother.”
…It seemed he was truly agitated; his determination to assault a police officer was unusually firm.
Qin Huai didn’t dodge the tail attempting to commit the crime. With one hand clasping Duan Ke’s weak waist, his tone carried a hint of subtle teasing.
“Baby, it seems attacking a human is against the law.”
“…How do you know??”
Duan Ke looked up in shock, his voice thick with a nasal tone.
“You… you know about the Administration Bureau too? I thought ordinary humans didn’t know about that evil organization at all.”
…He knew more than just a little.
The head of the Bureau endured with difficulty, barely putting away his mischievous desire to tease. Keeping his expression normal, he found an excuse: “Didn’t they just show it in the movie?”
Okay, that seems reasonable.
Now that he couldn’t find a loophole for a sneak attack, Duan Ke hung his head dejectedly. Water droplets hung from his eyelashes, and the tip of his nose and the corners of his eyes were red as he looked pitifully at Qin Huai.
Although he had lost control…
It hadn’t actually gone so far as to make a mess everywhere. He had only wet Qin Huai’s hand and a small patch of his own trousers.
Even so, Duan Ke felt like he was going to die of shame right there. He apologized in a whisper, filled with guilt and anxiety, not even knowing where to put his hands and feet.
“Didn’t you just drink a beverage? And you’re in a special period; it’s very normal. There’s nothing to be sorry about.”
Qin Huai freed his clean hand, pressing the back of it against Duan Ke’s forehead, observing him from a slight distance. “Feeling better?”
“…Mhm, much better.”
All his anxious emotions were steadily caught and held. Duan Ke felt much better. With a red nose, he hugged Qin Huai tightly. Feeling his cheeks burning, he turned his head and shyly rubbed against Qin Huai’s collarbone.
Having come once, although the estrus period hadn’t ended, it was at least alleviated. He didn’t feel like he was burning up anymore and could converse with Qin Huai relatively lucidly.
“I’ll clean up myself… Brother, you go wash your hands first.”
Duan Ke nudged Qin Huai, signaling him to go outside first. Qin Huai gave a casual “Mn.”
But after waiting two seconds, Duan Ke realized Qin Huai hadn’t moved at all. He was looking at him with a lazy expression, showing absolutely no intention of leaving.
Duan Ke was still damp between his legs, and being stared at like this made him very uncomfortable. He shivered unnaturally, feeling his ears heat up.
“…What’s wrong? If Brother stays here, how am I supposed to… do that.”
He was in a hurry, ahhhh!!
Yet Qin Huai acted as if he didn’t understand his urgency, remaining motionless. Duan Ke couldn’t bring himself to rush him verbally, so he could only look up in confusion, asking with his eyes.
Qin Huai had single eyelids and a cold countenance. He was tall, usually appearing quite unapproachable; only when he smiled at Duan Ke did he soften a little.
Right now, his face was backlit as he looked at Duan Ke, his dark eyes holding a hint of an ambiguous smile.
With mischievous intent, Qin Huai rubbed his fingertips, which were still damp.
The fluid wasn’t entirely clear; it was slightly cloudy. Not thick, giving off a feeling that was both green and very lewd—exactly like the contradiction of innocence and eroticism on Duan Ke.
“What are you shy about?” Qin Huai asked lazily. “Aren’t you quite bold in this regard?”
“Before, you said you wanted to do it with me.” Qin Huai brought up old scores with a straight face. “You also said you wanted to help me…”
Qin Huai only mouthed the word for “blow,” not even making a sound, yet Duan Ke shamefully understood instantly.
“…”
Those few short sentences were earth-shattering.
Duan Ke couldn’t speak. He was cooked through; he felt his body temperature and heartbeat soaring at rocket speed.
…Why is Brother bringing up old history at a time like this!!! Is it necessary to be so explicit???
And… and didn’t he dislike this kind of thing??
Before, whenever I got close, he would frown and refuse. He resisted kissing and hugging even more. How can he say such things without changing his expression now?? I didn’t even use charm magic!!
Also, hearing an usually ascetic person suddenly say such explicit words is just… just…
Duan Ke couldn’t find a human word to describe it. He felt his language system had crashed.
“I was… I was just…”
Duan Ke’s face was exploding with redness, anxious enough to bite his own tongue.
“…That was different from now! Those few times I purely wanted to eat, how could I be shy…”
“And now?” Qin Huai asked unhurriedly. “Where is the difference?”
“…”
Qin Huai’s tone wasn’t aggressive at all, but Duan Ke felt as if he were being gently choked, leaving him speechless.
Yes, I proposed the keeping arrangement, and I asked for the more intimate feeding methods before. What am I shy about now? It’s clearly a normal thing.
But… but I’m just shy! I can’t control myself!
Actually, he had become like this a long time ago—feeling embarrassed about doing intimate things with Qin Huai.
But he clearly just wanted to eat?
With too many commands input at once, Duan Ke’s level of humanization wasn’t enough to support such complex thinking while his consciousness was chaotic. He only felt his left and right brain fighting furiously.
If Duan Ke were a little character in a digital game, his eyes would have turned into swirling mosquito coils, his sanity bar would have dropped to zero, and he would simply spin in circles before flopping face-down.
Qin Huai watched quietly, pleasantly pinching Duan Ke’s chin with his clean hand.
The little guy was physically unwell, so he had intended to quit while he was ahead and just coax him until he was comfortable. But seeing Duan Ke like this, he suddenly found a joy in teasing the cat that he previously couldn’t understand.
He wanted to see more reactions.
He didn’t get to say the word “condom” this time. Because Duan Ke, with speed fast enough to leave an afterimage, wrapped his tail tightly around the lower half of Qin Huai’s face. Qin Huai was forced to eat a mouthful of cat fur.
“…No need!!” Duan Ke’s tail bristled completely, his voice small but fierce. “Say any more and I really will knock you out, Brother…! Stop teasing me!!”
Qin Huai and the bristling Duan Ke stared at each other quietly for a few seconds before Qin Huai turned his head away, unable to hold it back. Just as he pursed his lips, the tail binding him tightened sharply, looking as if it intended to strangle the Inquisitor right there in the restroom.
Qin Huai laughed deeply through the cat fur, turned to look at Duan Ke, and raised both hands in a gesture of helpless surrender.
Duan Ke let him go and turned to run, but was brought back by Qin Huai holding his waist with one hand. The size difference made resistance incredibly difficult.
“I’ll help you,” Qin Huai reached down.
“It’s dirty anyway. Let’s get you comfortable before we go out.”
At first, Duan Ke resisted with great backbone, but after a few touches from Qin Huai, his whole body went limp.
It was as if this body recognized its master. The moment Qin Huai’s skin touched him, it was like an electric shock, and the demon markings on his stomach grew excited.
In the span of three or four rounds, Duan Ke’s tears never stopped. He bit down hard on Qin Huai’s glove to stifle the sound. For the most part, he was manipulated like a piece of soft clay, only finding the strength to arch his back and gasp in shock when the other’s movements became utterly wicked.
Qin Huai drove expressionlessly down the road at night.
He didn’t drive fast, consciously avoiding bumpy sections. In the passenger seat, Duan Ke slept deeply, his head tilted to the side, draped in one of Qin Huai’s jackets. His breathing still carried a nasal sound from crying earlier.
Duan Ke slept restlessly. Even though he had been fed full with kisses when they got in the car, he still frowned slightly as if uncomfortable.
While waiting at red lights, Qin Huai would reach over with his right hand and gently press against Duan Ke’s forehead. Upon contact with his skin, Duan Ke seemed to settle down, his breathing becoming steadier as he unconsciously leaned toward the hand.
It was very late, and the road was quiet. Qin Huai felt as if they were isolated in a space far removed from the world. Just the two of them, hearing each other’s breathing. There was a feeling that even if death were imminent, one would feel at peace; being buried by the world like this didn’t seem to matter.
…It felt very familiar.
He thought of the monster file he saw today—a Dream Demon capable of making people lose their memories. He had a rough idea in his heart.
What kind of memories? Does Duan Ke not remember either?
He thought aimlessly but wasn’t in a rush to come up with a conclusion immediately. The car soon arrived smoothly at their residential complex. Qin Huai got out, lifted Duan Ke from the passenger seat, supporting his bottom with one hand and patting his back with the other.
Duan Ke’s arms circled Qin Huai’s neck, his body a bit hot.
“…I’m sleepy, no class.” Duan Ke’s voice was small and slurred. “Brother, I want to eat fried eggs…”
Qin Huai patted his back to soothe him, responding to the rambling sleep-talk while carrying him upstairs.
Just as they approached the elevator, Qin Huai stopped and looked toward the quiet stairwell.
A blurry human figure stood in the dark doorway.
It wasn’t unclear because of the darkness, but rather the figure itself was blurry, like a broken old TV screen. Its outline was incomplete, and it had no facial features.
Even though it didn’t have a face, Qin Huai was certain: this thing was watching them. And it had probably followed them the whole way.
Qin Huai showed no special reaction, turning his head as if he hadn’t seen anything. Steadily holding Duan Ke with one hand, he pressed the elevator button, seemingly unconcerned about being attacked inside.
“It” observed the young Inquisitor with interest.
“Aren’t you afraid of death?” It asked with a smile. “This time, I want more than just your memories.”
Qin Huai didn’t look at It, speaking indifferently, “I won’t be afraid of a dead person.”
The elevator doors opened. The ding made Duan Ke hum uneasily twice. Qin Huai held him tighter, stepping into the elevator as if nothing had happened.
[Author’s Note]
It’s a sweet little story, not scary or angsty at all. [Panda Head]
Qin Dog is currently mindful of Baby’s body. Once they get more familiar later, he’ll gradually stop pretending.
By the way, does anyone remember Qin Dog at the beginning? “Loathes physical contact,” “Impossible, not interested, won’t accept.” [Clown]
