Chapter 30: Bad Succubus
Little Black Ball hugged its tail, wings clamped tight, curled up inside the hood of its liege’s clothes.
Although it looked like a coward, its words were exceptionally arrogant, its tone completely condescending, practically looking down its nose at people.
“Lord Duan Ke! Please immediately use your most powerful magic to grind the opponent to dust, to prove that our succubus race isn’t just a flashy vase that anyone can bully… Hey hey hey???”
Little Black Ball felt its support suddenly vanish. Before it could spread its wings, it fell to the ground, caught off guard.
Its bouncy, soft body rebounded splat-splat on the ground like a black slime.
“…Lord Duan Ke?? Where did you go?”
Little Black Ball was dizzy. It spun 360 degrees twice but couldn’t find anyone. Suddenly, two short, dark front limbs reached over, grabbed it, and flapped, flying it toward the outside of the academic building.
“What are you standing there for? Run!”
Duan Ke’s voice, due to shrinking, sounded like some kind of digital pet—soft and thin. “This monster is at least A-rank. If it moves a finger, we’re gonna… Ouch!!”
With two neat bonk-bonk sounds, Duan Ke Ball and Little Black Ball simultaneously hit the barrier wall, falling from mid-air to the ground and bouncing apart.
This hit was particularly hard. Duan Ke Ball’s arms were too short to cover his bumped head, so he helplessly reverted to human form. He sucked in a breath and touched his forehead; a bump was forming, and it hurt to touch.
“So painful… Little Black?!”
Duan Ke panicked, looking left and right, then scooped up the motionless Little Black Ball to check carefully.
Little Black also had a bump on the right side of its forehead. Its tail hung limply, and its beady eyes had turned into two “X”s—obviously knocked out.
Duan Ke looked at it, nearly dying of guilt. It was all his fault for not checking for a barrier just now and leading Little Black straight into the wall.
Just as he wanted to quickly use a healing spell on Little Black, a humanoid shadow suddenly appeared, stopping less than half a meter from Duan Ke’s face.
…
Without any warning, it jumped out of thin air like a ghost hitting a wall.
This ghostly figure was a faceless woman with shoulder-length hair. A face as smooth as a sheet of white paper was about to touch the tip of Duan Ke’s nose, scaring him into stiffness.
…Although it had no features, Duan Ke knew it was smiling.
Staring at him teasingly like observing a hamster in a cardboard box.
Holding Little Black Ball with both hands, Duan Ke’s heart pounded wildly. He didn’t hesitate; he decisively chose the fluffy approach.
“May I ask what you want to do? I… I’m very weak, you know. Low-level monsters don’t taste good.”
“And I don’t have much money…” Duan Ke swallowed, trying to retreat while speaking. “If you want to rob me, I can give you all the money in my WeChat… Can you let us go?”
[… ]
[Gulu.]
The black shadow in front of him made a very muddy sound, like some disgusting, sticky liquid flowing. It seemed to be laughing.
Duan Ke was disgusted to the core by this hair-raising sound. His hidden tail instinctively poised for action, assuming an attack stance.
But he knew that with his strength, resisting would probably only lead to being tortured more miserably. After all, monsters were very easily provoked and mostly tyrannical by nature; not resisting was the better choice.
He silently observed the shadow’s reaction, stuffing Little Black Ball into his embrace.
[Hehe, that guy… actually raised you into such a useless piece of trash… Gulu…]
[You… were supposed to become us, become a god…]
[Come to our side… Gulu.]
[Duan, Ke…]
[Forget him.]
Before the shadow finished speaking, a sticky black tentacle struck out with extreme speed, about to touch Duan Ke.
A slit opened on its pure black, shadow-like face. At first, it looked like a smiling mouth, then it ripped wider and wider, resembling a black hole meant to devour people.
…
Too! Disgusting!
Duan Ke was only afraid at first, but now disgust completely overshadowed the panic.
Too terrible. Duan Ke is a super hygiene-loving succubus who bathes immediately upon returning home, scrubs with body wash many times, and only gets into bed after smelling nice!!
This monster… is simply a corpse that has been rotting for who knows how long!!
One sniff and I’m gonna puke!!
“Blegh… Don’t touch me!!! Go away!!”
A deafening boom rang out. Duan Ke, caught completely off guard, was stunned on the spot, his head buzzing.
He hugged Little Black Ball tightly, trembling all over. Yet, as the gravel and grey smoke cleared, he looked to the side stiffly, in disbelief.
…That monster had snapped into three pieces, dead as a doornail.
The shredded corpse quickly turned into wisps of smoke and dissipated, leaving only a pool of black liquid. Obviously just a clone, not the monster itself.
But this wasn’t what shocked Duan Ke the most.
As if his throat were blocked, he looked at the roof of the academic building that had been blown away by him. His pupils vibrated violently, and it took a long time to squeeze out a few extremely quiet, unconscious murmurs.
“Ah, I, I…”
Duan Ke’s tail was still flicking lightly in mid-air, looking soft and harmless. However, the place where he was sitting… had ostensibly turned into an open-air pavilion in the sky.
“You’re really something. Killed a guy and blew up the building directly.”
Heracles stood on the empty ruins, lazily standing with hands on hips, using magic in his palms.
One of his abilities was time regression. Applied to the academic building, it could slowly restore the missing chunk of the structure.
“Luckily it’s the weekend, and there weren’t any people near this building. Just use charm magic to modify the passersby’s memories a bit.”
Heracles rejoiced with hands on hips. “If a brick fell and killed someone, it would be a big deal… Hmm? What’s wrong with you?”
Heracles talked to himself for quite a while with absolutely no response. He turned around displeased, only to freeze the moment he met Duan Ke’s pale little face.
The arrogant dragon hesitated for two seconds, then lowered his head and waved his hand in front of Duan Ke.
“…What is it? Used too much magic and feeling sick?”
Heracles’ tone was haughty, but his green eyes held awkward concern. “Want me to share some with you? Not only am I rich, but I also have a lot of magic… borrow as much as you want.”
“…No.”
Duan Ke shook his head with a pale face; even his lips had lost color. “I’m fine… Thank you, Brother Heracles.”
Although he sensibly said he was fine, Duan Ke’s heart felt extremely unsettled, like stepping on empty air on the stairs. He gripped the hem of his clothes tightly, his palms sweating.
Duan Ke’s light-colored pupils trembled incessantly, his temples soaked in cold sweat. He glanced at the bricks being repaired, then looked down at the ground.
The unidentified black liquid left by that monster was still stuck there.
Even as a clone, that thing’s power shouldn’t be underestimated, yet with just a flick of Duan Ke’s tail, it was destroyed thoroughly.
…Then what if that thing was replaced by a human?
Duan Ke uncontrollably recalled the scene from last night. The estrus period made his consciousness completely unclear, and his emotions were much more agitated than usual.
When Qin Huai was helping him relieve himself, stimulated both physiologically and psychologically, he had wrapped his tail tightly around the other person, using a lot of strength.
…He even said he wanted to knock Qin Huai out.
Just like before, when Duan Ke didn’t know his healing spell had evolved to the point of instantaneous healing, he didn’t know his tail’s attack power was sufficient to instantly annihilate an A-rank-plus monster.
If his consciousness had been unclear then and he had really done it, then Qin Huai…
Duan Ke didn’t dare to think further. Just imagining it made him go cold all over, as if falling into an ice cave.
If that really happened…
“Brother Heracles, you’re right.”
Duan Ke looked straight into Heracles’ green eyes, his pale little face unusually serious. “I must actively use charm magic to erase the classmates’ memories.”
“Huh? Well sure, otherwise do you want the social news to publish ‘Alien Invasion at A University’?”
Heracles was confused. “So that’s why you’re unhappy? Why?”
“You’re right, I should actively expose myself to the Administration Bureau…”
Duan Ke seemed not to have heard him at all, muttering to himself, his eyes tearing up as he spoke.
“Using charm magic on such a large scale is equivalent to turning myself in. I’m too dangerous to humans now… Even if the Inquisitor comes to take me away, I won’t resist wuwuwu…”
Heracles: “.”
How did his thoughts jump there? What does this have to do with the Inquisitor??
“Do you think… do you think the Inquisitor will take me away to be tortured?”
Duan Ke continued. He started auto-filling scenarios in his brain again, so scared he could barely stand, clutching Heracles’ sleeve tightly, his voice trembling.
“I read on the demon forum before that he killed over four hundred A-rank monsters in a single day at most… So scary. He’ll probably kill me without even blinking if he catches me…”
“That incident is true; that guy is indeed ruthless… But you didn’t do anything wrong! Isn’t this self-defense??”
“But I destroyed the building! Almost hit someone! Yesterday I almost blew my keeper into ash…”
“I’m a bad succubus! Wuwu I want to find the Inquisitor and turn myself in…”
“…Oh, no need!! I’ll do it, I’ll do it, okay! I’ll just use money to buy some props to erase memories! If anyone’s getting caught, it’ll be me! You, you, you, don’t cry, I don’t know how to comfort you…”
While panic reigned over there, the Little Black Ball placed on the ground slowly woke up.
Duan Ke had used a healing spell on it, so the big bump on its head had already successfully returned to smoothness.
Little Black Ball rolled twice in a daze and looked to the side. A pool of black liquid stood out prominently on the ground—obviously the corpse of that monster.
Hmm??!!
Little Black Ball’s beady eyes lit up instantly.
Although it fainted before seeing the monster clearly, it could feel that the monster was unusually powerful.
It was crushed into a puddle of meat paste by Lord Duan Ke so quickly?!
As expected of Lord Duan Ke!! The Morning Star of Succubi!! The hope of the clan!!
Little Black Ball swish conjured a camera bigger than itself, snapping furiously click-click-click at the pool of black water on the ground.
“Hehehehehe, I have to post this to ‘Succubus Family’ and the Demon Realm Forum, let all monsters witness our Lord Duan Ke’s heroic posture… Hmm? What’s that?”
Little Black Ball flew confusedly holding the camera toward the place it just glimpsed.
In the pitch-black corner, there seemed to be a glint of cold metallic light, and a killing intent so rich it was hard to ignore seeped out from the darkness.
And there were a few footsteps so low they were almost inaudible, which only a monster could barely hear.
Little Black Ball circled a few times, saw nothing abnormal, and generously ignored it, flying back to continue photographing Lord Duan Ke’s great achievements.
“You used magic for me; what if you get caught? I’m sorry…”
“What’s that matter? Getting caught is getting caught. Worst case, I spend another five hundred bucks. I’m not so weak that I can’t even beat a human.”
Duan Ke’s eyes were slightly red as he walked side-by-side with Heracles through the dim corridor.
Heracles crossed his arms, exasperated. The thought of five hundred bucks made him hurt so much he wanted to blow up the Bureau directly.
But the Inquisitor stationed in City A was indeed a headache, hard to deal with.
However…
A cold light flashed in the depths of Heracles’ ghostly green eyes.
He came to the East to kill the Inquisitor. Making a big scene to get someone to come arrest him, and taking the opportunity to launch a sneak attack, might not be a bad method.
If he dares to show up, I’ll make my move.
The two walked slowly, harboring their own thoughts. The permeating dust made their vision somewhat blurry.
Duan Ke’s phone vibrated lightly with a notification. He opened it to check; it was a message from the errand-running senior.
[Junior, can you not find the classroom? No rush to get it, I reprinted it here [Sunglasses Bean]]
[Thank you for making the trip for me! I’ll find a time to treat you to a meal [Praying Hands]]
Duan Ke paused, realizing that this order wasn’t a trick by that monster, but a real one he had received.
He went back to check the previous message and found it displayed “A406” instead of “A408.” It was the monster who used an illusion.
Having caused a mix-up, Duan Ke felt even more guilty.
Although the other party had reprinted it, Duan Ke still wanted to fetch the documents from A406, in case they were needed later.
“Brother Heracles, I’ll go to the classroom ahead to get something… You go back first.”
“Hmm? It’s fine, I’ll wait for you. Go ahead. We can grab lunch together afterwards.”
Duan Ke nodded and went toward the classroom ahead by himself.
The monster’s barrier had dissipated, but the corridor was still gloomy. Faint demonic energy drifted out from the classroom, giving a gloomy chill.
The moment Duan Ke stopped at A406, a tall human figure appeared behind him, the man’s shadow completely enveloping him.
The succubus with keen senses immediately detected the anomaly. Just as he was about to bristle, his bottom was supported by a large hand.
The man’s other hand quickly covered Duan Ke’s mouth. The action was forceful, carrying undisguised possessiveness, yet not enough to make him feel uncomfortable.
“Shh, don’t make a sound.”
Qin Huai leaned close to Duan Ke’s ear, his voice very low. “That dragon will hear.”
The leather of the glove touching Duan Ke’s soft cheek was a bit rough.
Duan Ke instantly recognized whose gloves these were; after all, not long ago he was forced to hold them in his mouth, the sweet saliva soaking the leather wet.
…What is Brother saying? Why is he afraid Heracles will hear?
Duan Ke was confused, unable to figure out what Qin Huai wanted to do. Even so, he cooperated very well, giving up the struggle and obediently grabbing Qin Huai’s strong arm, squeezing it lightly to show he understood.
Qin Huai swept a cold glance at Heracles who was still waiting in the distance, withdrawing his gaze expressionlessly. Using a little force, he picked Duan Ke up like carrying a child and walked into the classroom.
In Heracles’ blind spot, the classroom door closed silently.
[Author’s Note]
Qin Huai: Bullying my wife? I’ll find time to kill him. [Rolls eyes]
Heracles: Not returning the five hundred bucks and slandering me? Sick in the head? [Rolls eyes] The one bullying Duan Ke is someone else.
[Small Theater]:
After marriage, Qin Huai will often be flung to the floor by his wife’s unruly sleeping tail.
(But sometimes Little Ke does it on purpose, because he’s often bullied so much he can’t sleep well and cries endlessly, so he uses military suppression [Pitiful])
