HIS PHEROMONE SMELLS LIKE CATNIP chapter 10

Chapter 10

The disturbance was not small, indicating that he was really hit hard.

Bai He slowly squatted down and curled up with his head buried.

Qin Yao got up from the high chair, took a few big steps over, and helped Bai He up: “Are you alright?”

Bai He shook his head slowly, not uttering a word.

From the situation, it did not seem like he was alright. Qin Yao leaned over, leveling his gaze with Bai He’s, and saw Bai He’s vacant eyes, those beautiful eyes seemed to be shrouded in a layer of mist, the iris lustrous and hazy, adding a touch of gentleness.

“You… ” Qin Yao naturally saw his condition: “Have you been drinking?”

“… Huh?” Bai He murmured in a dull tone, the voice sticky, very obviously, not only had he been drinking, but he was also drunk.

Seeing his dazed appearance, Qin Yao was helpless yet amused. He didn’t let go of the hand supporting Bai He, looked around, the trainees had more or less finished their work handover, and there were not many people in the club at the moment. Qin Yao gave up the idea of finding someone to help, after all, he didn’t feel comfortable letting someone else take care of him.

He led the dazed Bai He to the sofa nearby, reached out and pressed on the other’s shoulders, the hazy-eyed Bai He sank into the soft sofa.

“Do you have anyone at home who can pick you up?” the alpha asked.

Bai He looked up at him, and after a moment, slowly shook his head.

Qin Yao hissed, thinking that Bai He’s current state was a rare sight, getting drunk and becoming more docile.

He squatted down in front of Bai He, and this time it was Bai He who buried his head and looked at the alpha.

When the alpha was standing, he was very tall, even when squatting, his superior physique was still exceptionally outstanding. Qin Yao had let his hair grow a little longer, a wolf-like ponytail, pure black, with a barely noticeable small bun, he seemed to have a naturally relaxed posture, but he also had a face that captivated people’s hearts, especially those upturned eyes, the lazy aura he inadvertently exuded was like flirting.

Bai He stared intently at Qin Yao’s eyes, seemingly lost in thought, until his eyes became a little sore, his eyelashes fluttered, and his dazed gaze became a little dazed, but he still remained motionless, as if under a spell.

“Where’s your home? I’ll take you back.” Qin Yao was worried about Bai He going home alone, his family and the Bai family still had some connections, and now Bai He should be considered his friend, so it would be appropriate to send him back.

Qin Yao knew where Bai He lived, but to avoid blunders, he still asked for the address, but Bai He just stared at him without speaking.

Qin Yao was amused by the other’s stare, so he simply propped his head and smiled: “What are you looking at?”

Bai He continued to gaze at his eyes.

Qin Yao raised an eyebrow: “My eyes?”

This time he got a response, Bai He nodded slightly, Qin Yao saw this, the corners of his eyes raised, and he was in a good mood: “Do you think my eyes are good-looking?”

Bai He nodded again.

Qin Yao was taken aback, then gently laughed. He didn’t pay much attention to his appearance, as for his eyes, he only occasionally heard others mention that his iris color was a bit deep blue, a little lighter than indigo, if you didn’t look closely, you couldn’t tell.

This wasn’t a big deal, the eye color of their family was a bit unusual, it was a characteristic of the Maine Coon bloodline, his younger sister even had a subtle heterochromia.

Qin Yao stood up, reached out and gently ruffled Bai He’s hair, and Bai He looked up at him again.

“Alright, I’ll take you home.” Qin Yao sent a message to Zhang Wenyi, put away his phone, looked down and met Bai He’s gaze, smiling: “If you don’t tell me where you live, shall I take you back to the Bai family?”

This sentence successfully made Bai He’s face show an unhappy emotion, Qin Yao reached out and pulled the person towards the exit: “Don’t want to go back to the Bai family? Then where are you living now?”

Qin Yao could guess that Bai He didn’t want to go back to the Bai family, some details had revealed this, but it wasn’t his business to pry too much into other people’s affairs, and there was no need to insist that Bai He tell him the address right now.

Holding the person’s hand to the parking lot, Bai He obediently followed behind him, step by step, very carefully.

In the car, after fastening the seatbelt, Bai He held the strap in front of his chest tightly, staring blankly ahead, Qin Yao, who was about to help him fasten the seatbelt, paused for a moment and smiled: “Still remembers to fasten the seatbelt.”

The alpha turned the steering wheel, backed up, and made a smooth turn, driving out of the garage. Qin Yao drove towards the direction of Bai He’s rented apartment, halfway there, he pretended to ask which way to go, and Bai He would nod or shake his head in response, which saved a lot of trouble.

Qin Yao actually knew where Bai He’s rented apartment was, he asked in advance, but just to be on the safe side in case Bai He remembered everything that happened when he sobered up, and if this good student really remembered everything, how would he explain that he knew where Bai He’s apartment was? So he left room for that.

After sending the person downstairs, Bai He sat in the car and didn’t move, Qin Yao smiled, unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car, walking around to the passenger door, leaning in with his left hand resting on the car door frame, smiling at the wooden-faced Bai He: “Alright, Bai He, time to get out of the car.”

Bai He looked at him, and after a few seconds, slowly unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car.

Qin Yao closed the car door, pressed the car key, the car lights flashed, the alpha turned and looked at Bai He: “Come on, I’ll take you upstairs.”

Bai He walked very slowly, Qin Yao walking behind him could clearly see his face, it wasn’t really dazed, but rather drunk and confused, but even when drunk, Bai He never revealed any extra emotions, his face still remained expressionless, the only indication of his drunkenness was the mist-shrouded eyes.

This person, although a beta, was taller than the average beta, almost as tall as some alphas, but he was too thin, visibly this. He always wore simple clothes, just like now, a simple white T-shirt, simple straight-leg pants, these clothes were not big, in Qin Yao’s eyes they even looked small, but on Bai He’s body they looked like adult’s clothes that he had stolen, not too loose, but indeed too big, with the help of the light, you could vaguely see the frail body inside.

How could he be so thin? Qin Yao remembered the moment he hugged Bai He at the hospital, he easily lifted the person up.

Arriving at the door, Bai He used the only key to open the door, trying to aim at the lock for half an eternity before finally succeeding in opening the door, the alpha standing outside had no intention of going in.

It was already late at night, the sky outside had darkened, the person was safely home, Qin Yao should be leaving.

But seeing Bai He come in, change his shoes, and then turn around, his eyes unblinkingly looking at the alpha at the door.

After a while, Qin Yao sighed and smiled: “I’m going back, you rest well.”

He turned and took a few steps, then turned back, Bai He was still standing there, the door still open, staring at him intently.

Qin Yao ultimately didn’t leave, he went in and changed his shoes: “I’ll just stay for a while, is that okay?”

Bai He remained silent, turned and went to the kitchen to get water for Qin Yao, but found there was no hot water, so he started looking for the kettle again. Sitting on the sofa, Qin Yao glanced at the cat tower in the corner, and for a moment felt an indescribable and inexplicable annoyance, he averted his gaze, then carefully examined the house he had once stayed in.

It’s not big, many things are new, there are several political theory books and the dictionary piled on the coffee table.

He shifted his gaze again, the strange and inexplicable irritation was suppressed. He didn’t know why, but he didn’t want to see these things. These objects represented Bai He’s serious attitude towards him as a Maine Coon, he left silently, Bai He was clearly anxious for a long time, and seemed to have become even thinner because of his disappearance. He was the culprit, and the guilt made him irritable, so he could only avoid looking at the physical objects.

There were a few noises from the kitchen, Qin Yao hurried over and found that a bowl had been broken, he quickly squatted down to check Bai He’s hand. Fortunately it was fine, the alpha sighed in relief, gently pushed Bai He out of the kitchen: “You sit here, I’ll clean up.”

Qin Yao thought for a moment, they both hadn’t eaten yet, he decided to cook something. The sitting Bai He struggled a bit, the alpha lightly gripped the Bai He who was trying to stand up: “I’ll go, you listen.”

Seeing Bai He obediently stay put, Qin Yao let go of his hand: “What do you want to eat?”

Bai He’s eyes flashed with bewilderment, Qin Yao sighed: “Okay, I’ll cook what I think you’ll eat.”

He found a book for Bai He to read, then turned and went to the kitchen.

The fridge was full of ingredients, although Bai He couldn’t even fry an egg properly. He would buy things to keep the fridge full. Qin Yao stood in front of the fridge and thought for a moment, took out a broccoli, then found a box of frozen shrimp, thinking it might not be enough, he also took out a cabbage and three eggs.

After washing and cutting the ingredients, he started cooking, the whole process was smooth.

Qin Yao had learned cooking at home with his father, and sometimes lived alone in an apartment outside, so he would self-teach cooking, his culinary skills were not particularly outstanding, but he knew many dishes, and he felt the taste was not bad.

Qin Yao spent half an hour in the kitchen, and Bai He had been staring at the book outside for half an hour, until the dishes were served, the alpha untied the apron, his gaze falling on the person on the sofa.

Still looking, Qin Yao put his hands on his hips and smiled, went over and brought Bai He to the dining table to eat.

Stir-fried broccoli with shrimp, stir-fried cabbage, egg soup, two dishes and one soup, a simple home-cooked meal, Qin Yao filled two full bowls of rice.

Bai He ate slowly and quietly, not showing any signs of drunkenness, but it was very clear that he was still drunk, after finishing the meal, Qin Yao casually washed the bowls, came out of the kitchen and saw Bai He still sitting on the sofa without moving.

The alpha leaned against the kitchen doorframe and watched Bai He for a while, then walked over and squatted down: “My time as a guest is over, can I leave now?”

Bai He lowered his head and looked at him, without speaking.

It was obvious that this beta young man rejected his suggestion, Qin Yao smiled bitterly, reached out and tapped the back of Bai He’s hand: “Why are you so unreasonable?”

Qin Yao stood up, he bent over to pick up the book that had fallen beside Bai He, put the book back on the coffee table, then sat down next to Bai He, leaving a distance between them.

“Shall we chat?” Qin Yao asked.

Bai He turned his head to look at the alpha, he hadn’t spoken all evening.

Qin Yao naturally knew that he could not have a normal conversation with a drunkard. He sat up straight, raised his index finger in front of Bai He’s eyes and gently waved it: “I’ll ask, you just nod or shake your head, okay?”

Bai He’s eyes were hazy.

Qin Yao smiled, he leaned back into the sofa, playing with the throw pillow and thinking for a moment: “Have you not been eating well lately.”

Bai He didn’t respond, Qin Yao rested his head on the pillow and looked up at this little drunkard: “No response? Then that means you haven’t been eating well, how can you not even take care of yourself?”

Bai He still didn’t speak, Qin Yao looked into Bai He’s eyes, his gaze inadvertently fell on the beta’s fair neck, the skin there was almost glowing white, the long and beautiful neck, he unconsciously ground his canines.

“Bai He, are you unhappy?” the alpha asked.

Bai He remained silent, the mist in his eyes seemed to have thickened even more.

“Why are you unhappy?” Qin Yao probed further, he didn’t even realize that he had lowered his voice, almost like soothing: “Because the cat is gone?”

Bai He’s tightly pursed lips moved slightly, a hint of moisture flashed in his eyes, he finally responded, his voice soft and hoarse.

“Mm.”
