HIS PHEROMONE SMELLS LIKE CATNIP chapter 65.2

Part 2

“Xia You’s brother, Xia Tian said it.” Yi Chen stood straight, sighing with emotion: “This world is really small, right? You know all three Xia family treasures. I also just heard Xia You say he has two brothers. And Xia Tian also said all three of them know you. The funniest thing is Xia You didn’t know his other two brothers knew you.”

Bai He smiled awkwardly: “I sent a resume to a publishing house this morning, haven’t received a reply yet.”

“What publishing house?” Yi Chen was instantly surprised: “So you had an intention, Xiao Bao?? I was wondering why you studied literature after transferring to the omega school. So you like literature a little bit more than ideological and political education?”

A series of questions made Bai He pause for several seconds. He held Yi Chen’s hand: “I do like literature.”

“Then—” Yi Chen blinked, brainstorming quickly: “The text planning group next door, interested in coming?”

“Yeah, come to our planning group. Much better than going to CORONET.” Zhao Linyue wasn’t playing games at this time. He hugged a box of biscuits over, opened the lid and handed it to Bai He: “We know everything about you here. Just intern here.”

Bai He looked at their eyes, suddenly understanding. He smiled: “I helped modify the copy for [Tiandi] just to earn credits. I didn’t plan to go to CORONET after graduation.”

Yi Chen breathed a sigh of relief. He stood straight: “Do you know, Little Bai He? When I saw [Tiandi] won the best plot award this session, I wasn’t as shocked as seeing you in the [Tiandi] copy planning list. Not that I’m badmouthing the neighbor, but that company is really going downhill recently. I was afraid you wouldn’t look at the company’s future and get cheated in.”

Bai He caught the biscuits Zhao Linyue kept handing over: “I understand, thank you guys. But, [Tiandi] won the best plot award?”

“Uh-huh.” Yi Chen nodded: “Let CORONET take away the best plot award. For others, how can it compare with our [Xingchen]? Little Bai He, seriously, come to FREE. The copy you wrote really has something. If you come here, our company will be invincible!!”

Bai He laughed: “That wasn’t copy written by me. There was a first draft; I just modified it. And it wasn’t just me modifying; friends were involved too.”

“Then call your friends to come together.” Zhao Linyue bit a biscuit: “I remember our company still has several internship spots. You guys can form a group exactly. I’ll arrange the interview.”

“Don’t jump to conclusions so fast. Little Bai He hasn’t decided whether to come or not.” Yi Chen nudged the chatting Zhao Linyue with his elbow. The latter oh-ed and shut his mouth.

Immediately after, both of them looked quietly at Bai He.

Bai He: “……”

He smiled bitterly: “I actually quite like copywriting. But I’ve already submitted a resume. Let me wait for the response from that side first, okay? As for the other two friends, I’ll inform them. Thank you for the opportunity provided.”

“We don’t say these things between us!” Yi Chen was happy, hugging Bai He’s arm and swaying: “Then it’s settled, we wait for your news!”

The chance of getting an interview at the literary publishing house wasn’t high. Bai He originally planned to apply to several more publishing houses. After hearing Yi Chen and Zhao Linyue say this, he was really somewhat moved.

Bai He didn’t dislike copywriting planning. In fact, being a game planner was quite interesting, just that he thought he wasn’t qualified enough, not being a professional.

But many things have to be tried eventually. Liking surpasses everything. Opportunities are hard to come by.

Coming out of the government affairs office, Bai He went straight to Qin Yao’s office. The door wasn’t closed. He knocked twice, was told to enter, pushed the door open and saw a familiar person.

“That guy Guan Jiayu has been crazy lately. Heard Bai Lu hasn’t been found yet. The Guan family seems to not trust him much anymore.”

Zhou Sheng leaned against the bookshelf, flipping through a book while speaking: “You say, how could a person like him bear to let go of even the Guan family’s power? His dad looked for that guy surnamed Zhang several times recently…”

Bai He’s appearance interrupted Zhou Sheng’s words. The expression on this alpha’s face changed instantly, greeting Bai He with a smile: “Yo, long time no see, Bai He.”

Bai He nodded to Zhou Sheng, preparing to go to Qin Yao’s desk, then paused: “How’s Zhang Yao recently?”

“Ask about him for what?” Zhou Sheng raised an eyebrow.

“Debt collection.” Bai He said calmly: “He should learn a lesson.”

“Then rest assured, I absolutely disciplined him to be totally convinced.” Zhou Sheng said, squinting, taking out his phone: “There are photos, want to see?”

Bai He glanced at it. At this time, Qin Yao walked over and embraced Bai He’s waist, smoothly pushing the phone back: “Forget about dirty things; my Xiao Bao’s eyes are precious.”

Bai He: “……”

He turned his head away: “Not looking. What were you chatting about just now?”

“Guan Jiayu.” Qin Yao settled Bai He on the sofa beside him. He actually knew somewhat about the original work: “That guy seems to be giving up the company.”

Now the original work didn’t count. No need to worry about being hijacked by the plot, nor care about the original characters’ matters. Bai He nodded upon hearing this, changing the topic: “I want to eat the cake from that shop outside the school.”

Haven’t eaten for a long time, indeed craving a bit.

“I’ll take you to buy it after work.” Qin Yao cupped Bai He’s face and rubbed it, making Zhou Sheng beside them click his tongue.

“Alright, I have to go back too.” Zhou Sheng put his hands in his pockets, waved back to them, walked out of the office and then came back, squinting at Bai He, voice full of playfulness: “Bai He, I really took Zhang Yao as a gift from you guys. Don’t ask for him back later. As thanks, I’ll send a big gift when you get married. Bye bye~”

The person left. Bai He lowered his eyelids, looking back at Qin Yao: “What’s their situation?”

Qin Yao laughed: “Zhou Sheng isn’t picky about food.”

Bai He: “……”

He was quiet for a moment, licking his teeth: “When do you get off work.”

“Right away, Xiao Bao.” Qin Yao opened the last document: “Two minutes. We’ll go eat cake after finishing.”

“Oh.” Bai He silenced himself, asking again after a while: “Do you want me to come to FREE?”

Qin Yao lifted his eyelids: “I want to tie you to me every day.”

“……”

Bai He observed Qin Yao’s shining eyes. That was the excited gaze a hunter has when targeting prey. But Bai He didn’t like being prey. He got up and walked around, leaning against the edge of the desk beside Qin Yao, reaching out to pinch Qin Yao’s earlobe: “You can’t tie me. An obedient cat should learn to beg.”

Qin Yao’s Adam’s apple moved. He had seen Bai He like this. With no one else in the office, Bai He would get bolder. He capitalized on the fact that Qin Yao wouldn’t dare do anything to him in the company.

After a long time, Qin Yao pulled out a mysterious smile: “Xiao Bao, there’s a compartment here.”

Bai He’s fingertips stiffened. Immediately after, he saw Qin Yao quickly finish reading the last document, take out a sticky note, write a few words on it and stick it on, then call the department head to come get the document.

Bai He suddenly felt bad. He saw Qin Yao hang up the phone. Immediately after, Bai He’s feet left the ground. The sudden suspension made him subconsciously panic, having to hug Qin Yao’s neck tightly.

The compartment was behind the office chair, very hidden. Bai He watched helplessly as the door opened, and he was carried in by Qin Yao.

The door closed. The situation outside could be seen from inside.

Bai He was pressed against the door, breathing heavily. In his line of sight outside, the department head came to the empty office to get the document.

“Eh? The boss isn’t here?”

Voices from outside could even be heard from inside. Separated by a wall, Bai He was pinned to the wall, flushed all over. Qin Yao’s voice was right in his ear, and said ambiguously: “Do you like it, Xiao Bao?”
