Chapter 23: Then Give Me My Phone Back
Little Wen Ling’s eyes slowly looked into the distance, murmuring: “…Clearly it was a green light.”
“Hurts…” Little Wen Ling struggled trying to get up but failed, getting up halfway and falling back down.
Wen Ling kept failing to get up. Blood flowed more and more. The banknotes in his hand could hardly be held. He became more and more anxious, gradually crying out, “Ugh, hurts…”
“So hot… Woo…”
“Save me…”
Gradually, a few passersby gathered around, sighing, gossiping, some wanting to extend a helping hand but hesitating to move forward, forming a circle, casting a shadow.
But the light only shone on Little Wen Ling.
Such a hot road, such a fierce sun.
Cheng Ge seemed to be a step closer to understanding what despair was.
“Woo-wah woo-wah woo-wah.”
“Woo-wah woo-wah woo-wah.”
The high-frequency urgent sound of the ambulance came from afar. The crowd dispersed. Shadows constantly passed through Cheng Ge and Wen Ling. Cheng Ge’s consciousness was suddenly extracted, exiting the dream.
Cheng Ge snapped open his slightly moist eyes, looking at the person shivering in his arms, only feeling trance-like. An endless sorrow locked him tight.
It turned out there were reasons Wen Ling hated heat and didn’t like sunbathing.
He didn’t understand, really didn’t understand why it was like this. How could someone’s experience be like this?
Cheng Ge even wanted to ask why for Wen Ling.
“So hot… hurts so much…” Wen Ling curled up, tears flowing onto his cheeks, binding himself and struggling constantly.
“Clearly it was a green light…”
Cheng Ge’s mouth, which usually spoke all kinds of nonsense, didn’t know how to coax the person for a moment. He simply couldn’t say things like “doesn’t hurt anymore” or “not hot.”
The heat was real, the pain was also real, and the green light too. Wen Ling wasn’t wrong at all in this matter.
Cheng Ge helplessly wiped Wen Ling’s tears, stroking Wen Ling’s forehead, palm, arm, and every place that was hit and scraped.
When Wen Ling’s tears dried up and he stopped shivering, Cheng Ge very carefully hugged the person tight, gently patting Wen Ling’s back.
Cheng Ge prayed silently in his heart, hoping the ambulance would arrive faster, hoping the medical technology Wen Ling received was better.
Hoping Wen Ling wouldn’t have nightmares again…
The air conditioner temperature in the room had always been low. When Wen Ling woke up, he felt a bit stuffy, overheated, but the touch was very comfortable.
He rubbed unconsciously, sniffing. It was a familiar light mint scent, clean and refreshing, very nice smelling.
Wen Ling felt a bit strange. Cheng Ge seemed to be hugging him too tight, the tightest ever. Before, he only hugged him loosely.
But it didn’t matter if it was strange. He just liked this. He wouldn’t remind Cheng Ge.
Taking advantage of the remaining sleepiness, Wen Ling also hugged Cheng Ge, squinting his eyes again, similar to dozing off.
Cheng Ge’s biological clock used to be very punctual, waking up around 6:30. After transmigrating here, he was really too idle, gradually waking up later, around 7:30.
After Cheng Ge woke up, he carefully let go of Wen Ling, moved Wen Ling’s hand circling his waist away, then got out of bed lightly to wash up.
After washing up, Cheng Ge came out of the bathroom and saw Wen Ling lying flat on the bed, rubbing his stomach constantly.
“Stomach ache again?” Cheng Ge walked quickly to the bedside to get medicine.
“No,” Wen Ling frowned, “not stomach, it’s the middle of the belly, and the waist. Hurts when applying force.”
Cheng Ge put down the pills and went over to help Wen Ling up. Wen Ling continued, “Not pain either, just a very uncomfortable feeling.”
Cheng Ge suddenly realized. After Wen Ling exercised yesterday, he seemed to have forgotten to tell Wen Ling to stretch, nor did he help rub him.
According to the little noob’s usual exercise volume, doing so many non-standard exercises, he was bound to have soreness in his waist and abdomen.
“Not pain, it’s soreness,” Cheng Ge rubbed Wen Ling’s abdomen, then kneaded his waist for a while: “Is it that it feels especially sour and refreshing when just pressed, but gets better after pressing for a long time?”
Wen Ling felt it for a while and nodded: “Mn.”
“Wait.” Cheng Ge left the room, found two mineral water bottles in the living room, filled them with warm water, tightened the caps, and returned to the room with the bottles.
“Applying this will make it better.” Cheng Ge lifted the corner of Wen Ling’s clothes. Just as he was about to apply it, he suddenly remembered yesterday’s dream, moved away again, and asked: “You touch first to see if this temperature is too hot.”
Wen Ling touched as told and said honestly: “It’s okay.”
Cheng Ge put the mineral water bottle on Wen Ling’s abdomen, “Can you accept it?”
“Yes.” Wen Ling watched Cheng Ge’s movements and called him: “Cheng Ge.”
“Hm?” Cheng Ge’s attention was on the water bottle.
“You are a bit strange today.”
Cheng Ge: “?”
What’s wrong with him now!? He is using absolutely no acting skills right now.
“You speak softly today, and hugged me very tight in the morning.”
“…” Cheng Ge was instantly a bit embarrassed.
Have to get scolded a bit to be comfortable, right!?
“But I really like you like this.” Wen Ling said finally.
Cheng Ge’s hand froze. His tone was neither good nor bad: “Stop chattering.”
“Oh.”
Cheng Ge hadn’t noticed before, but looking carefully now, Wen Ling’s waist was especially thin. The mineral water bottle placed horizontally was about the same width as Wen Ling’s waist.
Could it be achieved in one day? The effect shouldn’t be so significant, right?
With such a thin waist, can abs be trained?
Need to supplement more nutrition.
“Cheng Ge!” Wen Ling shouted Cheng Ge’s name loudly.
In fact, this was the third time Wen Ling repeated calling him.
“What?” Cheng Ge didn’t realize at all that he was distracted just now.
“I’m hungry.”
Cheng Ge was speechless, “…Understood.”
“Apply it yourself.” Cheng Ge put the mineral water bottle in Wen Ling’s hand and got up to go to the kitchen.
Wen Ling looked at the mineral water in his hand, then looked at Cheng Ge’s back, tilting his head slightly.
When frying eggs, Cheng Ge suddenly considered that calculating by time, there were probably about twenty days left before school started for him and Wen Ling.
He had been locked up for so long, like disconnected from the world. That certainly wouldn’t do.
Also about school starting, Cheng Ge had to find a way to make Wen Ling agree to let him go to school.
One, he would go crazy if locked up any longer. Two, Wen Ling’s conquest value was stuck at 69% and wouldn’t move; it would only drop, not rise again. He had to expand new territories.
And wanting Wen Ling to become a bit more normal, Wen Ling himself couldn’t be detached from society either, otherwise how could he become normal.
Cheng Ge scooped the noodles and egg from the pot, put them in a bowl, and carried it to the dining table in front of Wen Ling, “Can eat now. Careful hot.”
“Thank you Cheng Ge.” Wen Ling said.
Every time Wen Ling said thank you, Cheng Ge would find it a bit funny. The little lunatic seemed to have learned to say thank you from him, imitating strictly, appearing dorky.
“Wen Ling,” Cheng Ge drank a mouthful of soup, asking seemingly casually: “Do you want to play games?”
“Don’t want.” Wen Ling answered crisply.
Otaku doesn’t like playing games!?
“You don’t like playing games!?”
Wen Ling shook his head.
Really strange.
Cheng Ge changed the phrasing, “Do you want to play games with me?”
Wen Ling bit the poached egg, paused for a while, seemingly thinking, finally saying slowly: “Okay.”
Cheng Ge was secretly excited: “Then give me my phone back, I’ll carry you to play.”
