How Did the Promised Yandere Villain Become a Clingy, Obedient Dog? Chapter 38

Chapter 38: Sleep Together?

“…Nothing.” Wen Ling carried his luggage, twisted the doorknob, and went in.

Only after dealing with Wen Ling did Cheng Ge have time to be nervous for himself. He actually wasn’t that calm. In a moment, he would have to face the roommates the original host had lived with for over a year. It would be a disaster if he blew his cover.

Cheng Ge took a deep breath and twisted open the door to his own dorm. Two people had already arrived.

“Hello.” Cheng Ge smiled at the two boys who were still organizing their beds. The tall and thin one was called Lin Hai, and the chubby one was called Wang Lei. They both looked quite friendly.

“Hi.”

“Hello, arriving so late.”

“Went to the cafeteria to eat first.”

“Oh, oh.”

Then there were no superfluous words.

Cheng Ge walked to his own bed, nimbly made his bed, arranged his daily necessities, and then went to the bathroom to take a shower. Afterward, he lay on the bed, spacing out.

After the initial excitement of arriving at school passed, Cheng Ge felt an inexplicable emptiness in his heart, though he didn’t know where this subtle feeling of loss came from.

Cheng Ge yawned and accidentally fell asleep. When he woke up again, he found the last roommate of the dorm, Zhang Fan, had arrived. The three of them happened to agree to go to the cafeteria for dinner together.

“Cheng Ge, coming along?” Wang Lei asked with a smile.

“Huh?” Cheng Ge paused, and after a moment, smiled along: “Sure, okay. Wait a moment, I’ll be right there.”

“Sure, no rush. Zhang Fan is still packing things.”

The four of them went to the newly renovated staff cafeteria for this semester and ate Malatang together. The conversation at the table was all about summer vacation experiences. Cheng Ge found it interesting and was responsible for listening seriously, rarely joining the discussion.

Wang Lei suddenly directed the conversation to Cheng Ge: “Cheng Ge, what did you do this summer? You didn’t pop up in the group chat or post on Moments.”

The topic was suddenly led to Cheng Ge. He gave a light “Ah” and said, “I… sort of worked a summer job.”

Lin Hai was excited: “You went to work a summer job too? I worked for a month too, tired to death for only three thousand five. How much was your salary?”

Cheng Ge fully immersed himself in the summer job narrative: “No salary, room and board included.” And he had to pay out of his own pocket.

“What? Where is there such black labor! What did you do?”

“Serve a little emperor. Served him tea and water, cooked for him, amused him, coaxed him to sleep, and had to prevent him from crying when he was unhappy… Mn, pretty much these things.”

The other three opened their mouths slightly, words stuck in their throats. After imagining for a while, they figured he probably had to help take care of a child from his own family or a relative’s family, which was why Cheng Ge said “sort of,” and had no salary but room and board.

“Then didn’t you have to help change diapers?” Wang Lei frowned, thinking of one of the hardest tasks in raising a child.

Cheng Ge was drinking soup and almost sprayed it out. He coughed several times and then suddenly started laughing, scaring the three people next to him into thinking Cheng Ge was possessed by some evil spirit.

“Cough, not to that extent,” Cheng Ge raised one hand and waved his elbow to deny it, holding back laughter. “Not to that extent, not to that extent, past that age.”

The three seemed to understand but not quite, assuming it was a seven or eight-year-old child, and nodded.

Cheng Ge swallowed several mouthfuls of rice but still found it hilarious. The image in his brain wouldn’t go away.

A tiny little Wen Ling, bare-legged, wearing a diaper, holding a brand new diaper in his hand. His eyes were moist from just crying, eye rims and corners red, big eyes revealing a pure innocence, pitifully commanding: “Cheng Ge, help me change it.”

Zero sense of violation.

After eating, the four returned to the dorm together. Cheng Ge sent a message asking if Wen Ling had eaten lunch. Getting no reply, he guessed the person might be showering, so he compassionately decided to buy Wen Ling dinner, or it could count as a late-night snack.

“You guys go back first, I’m going to buy something else.” Cheng Ge gestured to his three roommates and walked towards the Central Garden living area.

Looking at Cheng Ge’s back, Wang Lei said abruptly: “Why do I feel Cheng Ge seems much more extroverted? Wasn’t he very shy and quiet before?”

The three looked at each other. Zhang Fan joked: “Maybe he practiced it to amuse his family’s little emperor.”

In the end, Wang Lei and Lin Hai actually nodded in agreement, speaking in unison: “Makes sense.”

Zhang Fan: “…”

Cheng Ge arrived at the living area and bought sushi and tangshui (dessert soup). He remembered Wen Ling saying last time that the sushi tasted pretty good.

Passing by the dessert shop, Cheng Ge glanced at the small cakes in the display case. Remembering he didn’t seem to have seen Wen Ling eat small cakes and not knowing if he liked them, he bought a small one for Wen Ling to try.

Returning to the dorm building, Cheng Ge knocked twice on the dorm door. After a while, he twisted it open and poked his head in: “Hello, looking for Wen Ling.”

“Wen Ling?” Bed No. 1 replied, voice gentle: “He just went out. Might be a while before he comes back.”

Went out? Then why didn’t he reply to the message?

“Did he not take his phone?” Cheng Ge asked.

“Not sure, but he doesn’t play with his phone much usually. Do you need him for something?”

“Oh,” Cheng Ge handed over the late-night snack. “Can you help me put these on his desk?”

“Sure.” Bed No. 1 took it.

“Thanks.”

Cheng Ge took a rough look at their dorm. One bed was empty. Wen Ling was in Bed No. 3. The curtains weren’t closed tightly, and with a casual glance, one could see the big bear lying on the bed, seemingly covered with a quilt.

Like a child treating a doll as a friend.

Cheng Ge took out his phone again and messaged Wen Ling: “Where did you go? Why didn’t you reply to the message?”

“Bought you a late-night snack, put it on your desk.”

Cheng Ge lowered his head and twisted open his own dorm door. Inside the dorm were eerie eyes. Cheng Ge looked up and met four pairs of eyes. Why four pairs?

Because the Wen Ling who “just went out” was sitting on his chair, looking at him eagerly.

“Cheng Ge…” Wen Ling called him obediently.

Cheng Ge’s chest trembled. He paused for two seconds and walked over: “Why are you here?”

“Oh, this little brother was waiting for you at the door just now. We saw the wind outside was quite cool, so we let him come in first,” Wang Lei explained with a smile.

Cheng Ge nodded and walked to Wen Ling’s side. “You didn’t bring your phone?”

“I didn’t look.” Wen Ling tilted his head up.

“Did you eat dinner? I bought you a late-night snack, it’s on your desk,” seeing Wen Ling staring at him constantly, Cheng Ge asked: “What’s wrong?”

Wen Ling pursed his lips and said in a muffled voice: “I want to sleep with you, mmph…”

Cheng Ge hurriedly covered Wen Ling’s mouth and hastily dragged the person into the bathroom.

Leaving the three observing roommates in the dorm looking at each other in dismay.

Wang Lei frowned and scratched his head: “…Sleep?”

Lin Hai: “…Sleep, probably. Is it Cheng Ge’s younger brother? He looks so quiet and introverted, maybe he’s clingier.”

Zhang Fan waved his hand, “Don’t know, never heard him mention it.”

“He’s so handsome too,” Wang Lei had already assigned Wen Ling the identity of Cheng Ge’s younger brother. “Their family genes are so good.”

When Wen Ling sat quietly in their dorm just now, he raised the class of the entire dorm. That tranquil atmosphere made the three of them afraid to break it; even their breathing was light.

Inside the bathroom.

“I want to sleep together with you.” Wen Ling reiterated.

In your dreams.

Cheng Ge rejected firmly: “No, it’s a bad influence.”
