How Did the Promised Yandere Villain Become a Clingy, Obedient Dog? Chapter 48

Chapter 48: Teacher, Someone Fainted

So, Lin Yuchen grabbed the person even tighter, his tone full of concern: “Wen Ling, don’t be sad. It’s not worth it for someone like him.”

On the other side, seeing Wen Ling’s resistance to the boy holding him, Cheng Ge realized something was wrong.

Especially when he heard the boy spout such nonsensical words, Cheng Ge knew there had to be a misunderstanding.

“Let go.” Cheng Ge stared at Lin Yuchen’s hand gripping Wen Ling, his gaze gloomy and sharp.

Lin Yuchen got even more worked up, standing on the moral high ground: “What exactly do you want to do? Can’t you see he’s crying? You’ve hurt his heart like this, and you still won’t let him go? If you have any conscience at all, let go immediately!”

“Is there something wrong with you?” Cheng Ge felt this guy’s brain definitely had issues. His voice was louder than a duck’s quack, seemingly intentionally attracting the attention of everyone around them.

Cheng Ge sensed Wen Ling’s unease; Wen Ling hated being stared at by so many people the most.

Separated by the desk, it was hard for Cheng Ge to make a move without risking accidental injury to Wen Ling. He could only reach out directly to pry Lin Yuchen’s fingers apart, his voice dropping low: “Let go.”

“You scum, it’s you who should stop pestering Wen Ling…”

“Are you sick?!” Wen Ling interrupted Lin Yuchen. His voice was very small, even carrying a crying tone, but the anger was audible. “Cheng Ge told you to let go, but you’re still holding onto me. Is there something wrong with your brain? You keep saying illogical things. Who allowed you to say my name? Who allowed you to speak to Cheng Ge like that? If you’re sick, go get treated!”

Lin Yuchen was stunned by the scolding. He didn’t expect Wen Ling to curse. Cheng Ge was also dazed for a moment, mainly because it was the first time he had heard Wen Ling speak such a long paragraph, and seemingly the first time he had heard Wen Ling curse at someone.

Realizing the boy was indeed being unreasonable, Cheng Ge took advantage of the boy’s shock to quickly throw his hand off and pull Wen Ling closer to himself.

“Cheng Ge, he blocked me and wouldn’t let me leave,” Wen Ling looked at Cheng Ge with teary eyes. As if the floodgates had opened, Wen Ling found an outlet for his bellyful of grievances and anger.

Like a helpless child who finally found an adult to back him up, Wen Ling complained to Cheng Ge: “He kept following me just now. I wanted to go out, but he grabbed me. No matter how I shook him, he wouldn’t let go. He even smiled at me on purpose to provoke me. I hate him.”

Cheng Ge had never seen Wen Ling this aggrieved. His heart ached terribly. He frantically wiped away Wen Ling’s tears, only to find Wen Ling’s body temperature was frighteningly hot. His forehead was even hotter. The tears pooling in his eye sockets seemed ready to evaporate from the scorching body heat.

“Don’t cry, don’t cry. Your fever is too high; we need to go to the infirmary first.”

“You slut, what nonsense are you spouting!” Lin Yuchen hadn’t expected Wen Ling to say he hated him so bluntly, or to smear his name in front of so many people. Rage rushed up from nowhere. “Do you know who I am?! You look like a seductress and you blame others? You go around hooking people, and I bet you’re quite proud of it. Don’t play the victim and spit blood here! I— Ah!”

Cheng Ge bent Lin Yuchen’s finger backward, his eyes terrifyingly cold. Fury was about to burn Cheng Ge’s reason to ashes; he even wanted to snap this person’s finger off.

“Pain, pain, pain, pain! Are you crazy? Let go! Do you know who I am?!”

Cheng Ge showed no sign of letting go. “You can try saying one more sentence.”

“Student, the teacher is here.” He heard classmates around them reminding him, but he didn’t want to care about the rules and regulations he usually followed most strictly. He just felt that Wen Ling had been insulted for no reason and suffered such a great grievance; he had to retaliate somehow.

“Cheng Ge,” Wen Ling’s burning hand gently grabbed Cheng Ge’s arm, his voice drawn out and weak. “I seem to…” Before he could finish, Wen Ling’s body suddenly swayed. As if losing all support, his head almost planted directly onto the desk, but Cheng Ge’s quick hands caught him.

“Wen Ling? Wen Ling?” Cheng Ge shook him twice, but apart from weak breathing, Wen Ling gave no other reaction.

Cheng Ge hadn’t expected Wen Ling to suddenly faint. He guessed he had passed out from the high fever. Burning with anxiety, he shouted at Lin Yuchen: “Move! He needs to go to the infirmary.”

“Hey, stop pretending, will you? What are you acting weak for? Do you think becoming a victim will win you sympathy?” Lin Yuchen didn’t believe Wen Ling would faint out of nowhere, right when the teacher came in. He assumed Wen Ling was acting out of fear of the teacher.

But Wen Ling fainting like this indeed attracted the attention of the teacher and the whole class.

“Someone fainted.”

“Teacher! Someone passed out.”

Loud voices, quiet voices, worried ones, curious ones—they all added to the anxiety in Cheng Ge’s heart.

He didn’t waste any more words on the idiot blocking the way. He quickly shouldered Wen Ling’s backpack, pulled Wen Ling into his arms, bowed his back, and with one hand supporting Wen Ling’s back and the other under his thighs, he carried the person straight out.

Once he had a firm hold, he truly felt how high Wen Ling’s temperature was. Holding Wen Ling was like holding a furnace.

The teacher came over worriedly to ask about the situation. “Student, you…”

“Teacher, I’m taking him to the infirmary.” Cheng Ge was worried to death and couldn’t care about anything else. After speaking, he rushed out of the classroom.

“Hey! Student…”

Wen Ling’s brain was operating sluggishly. He felt like he was on the edge of magma, the ground beneath his feet shaking and collapsing. His throat was strangled, unable to speak; even swallowing was torture.

Struggling for a long time, he dazedly opened his eyes. Through the haze, he saw the sharp outline of Cheng Ge’s jaw, his tight lips, and his long eyelashes that weren’t blinking.

Cheng Ge was holding him tightly.

He and Cheng Ge were so close.

Wen Ling could clearly smell the pleasant mint scent. It was refreshing. Cheng Ge’s body was also cool; pressing against it slightly alleviated the scorching heat on his own body. It was very comfortable.

Wen Ling didn’t have much strength left, but he just wanted to press even closer to Cheng Ge. They had to fit together seamlessly. This impulse felt like instinct.

Using his last shred of strength, Wen Ling wrapped his arms around Cheng Ge’s neck and buried his entire face into Cheng Ge’s cool neck and shoulder.

The taut string in Cheng Ge’s mind was plucked by Wen Ling’s sudden movement. His steps paused, and he looked expectantly at the person in his arms, only to find Wen Ling was still unconscious. The sudden movement just now seemed like an illusion. The strength circling his neck disappeared after a brief moment of tightness; Wen Ling was now only loosely hanging onto him.

Only the scalding temperature on his neck indicated that Wen Ling had probably woken up just now. Cheng Ge hefted him up to adjust Wen Ling into a more comfortable position, his steps flying fast.
