Chapter 6: Can’t I Care About You!?
Cheng Ge and Wen Ling were both sophomores. If he remembered the book’s timeline correctly, it was probably just after the start of summer vacation.
Because Cheng Ge’s social circle was narrow, plus he only had a grandfather in the countryside as kin, with Wen Ling’s simple manipulation, no one discovered Cheng Ge had been imprisoned.
He hadn’t finished reading the book before he transmigrated here; he had only read up to the time approaching the start of school. So he didn’t know exactly what happened afterward, nor did he know if Wen Ling let Cheng Ge return to school.
But he definitely had to return to school. Staying with this lunatic Wen Ling for a few days was driving him crazy, let alone two or three months. As for how to get Wen Ling to let him back to school, he would have to think of another way.
Although Cheng Ge was a sports student, his academic grades were very good. He quite liked studying; studying sports was purely because he liked it, plus intense exercise was just a legitimate way to vent his violent factors.
Anyway, there was nothing to do now. It wouldn’t hurt to use the vacation to learn the content he needed to study in that timeline in advance.
Only, he had no phone and no textbooks. How to get learning materials was another problem.
After hesitating for a long time, Cheng Ge held the wall and left the room. He searched around the floor but didn’t see Wen Ling.
It wasn’t until he passed the bathroom that he heard the faint sound of flushing inside. Cheng Ge turned his head and locked eyes with Wen Ling, who had just opened the door.
Wen Ling’s complexion was even paler than the previous two days. There was not a trace of blood on his face. Long hair covered most of his eyes. The whole person looked like a piece of shredded paper, light and drifting. Anyone would feel he was pitiful.
But Cheng Ge also saw Wen Ling’s fingers twitch slightly. There was a fine needle reflecting light in his hand. One careless moment and it would stab into any part of his body.
“What’s wrong with you?” Cheng Ge asked with concern.
Wen Ling looked at Cheng Ge, stayed silent for a few seconds, and was about to speak when he suddenly covered his mouth and turned back into the toilet.
Seeing the little lunatic like that, Cheng Ge wasn’t stupid. He guessed this sickly invalid probably ate too much at once this morning, leading to indigestion and vomiting.
He didn’t want to meddle at all, but he couldn’t waste this opportunity to farm favorability. Besides, if he didn’t explain himself, that psycho Wen Ling might think he deliberately poisoned the noodles.
When Wen Ling came out after washing his face, Cheng Ge limped closer: “Uncomfortable?”
Wen Ling watched Cheng Ge’s movements and spoke the truth: “I don’t know.”
Cheng Ge lifted the hem of Wen Ling’s clothes, placed his large hand on his abdomen, rubbed for a while, and asked softly: “Feel any better?”
Actually, Wen Ling really had no concept of his physical condition. At this moment, he only felt Cheng Ge’s hand was too hot. Wen Ling didn’t like such a hot touch, but he really liked the way Cheng Ge spoke just now. For a moment, he actually didn’t know what to answer.
“Next time, don’t eat so much at once. You’ll get indigestion,” Cheng Ge frowned slightly, his expression serious: “Like now.”
“Why are you doing this?” Wen Ling asked suddenly.
Cheng Ge was baffled: “Doing what?”
Wen Ling looked down at Cheng Ge’s hand rubbing his stomach: “Rubbing my stomach.”
Was the bootlicking too much?
Cheng Ge’s heart skipped a beat, but on the surface, he remained self-righteous: “Can’t I care about you!?”
He quietly observed Wen Ling’s demeanor, and finally, hearing Wen Ling whisper “Mn,” he quietly sighed in relief.
When his hand got a bit sore from rubbing, Cheng Ge let go and asked Wen Ling: “Were the noodles I cooked tasty?”
Wen Ling had no concept of tasty or not either, so he said: “I like eating them.”
“Then do you want me to cook lunch?”
Wen Ling suddenly lifted his eyelids to look at him, answering with a question: “You want to go buy groceries?”
Cheng Ge felt Wen Ling’s train of thought was really jumpy, but felt this jump made sense for once. So he nodded: “Yeah.”
Cheng Ge hadn’t fully raised his head when Wen Ling’s hand had unknowingly touched the back of his neck. The back of his neck went cold, and Cheng Ge twitched in a stress response.
“And then run away while buying groceries.”
Unbelievable! Cheng Ge wanted to vomit blood. Even being attentive was wrong; the little lunatic convicted him with one sentence.
“Then you order takeout,” Cheng Ge frowned and stared at Wen Ling, bending his waist to step away from Wen Ling. “I won’t cook.” After speaking, he limped to the sofa in the living room and sat down.
Wen Ling looked at Cheng Ge’s back and narrowed his eyes.
Cheng Ge was actually quite worried Wen Ling would find trouble with him. Fortunately, he didn’t. Wen Ling didn’t talk to him about cooking or buying groceries again.
Lunch and dinner were takeout. Actually, the taste was passable, but watching Wen Ling, he didn’t eat much. Unknown if it was because he was greasy or some other reason.
Night fell. It was quiet inside and outside the house. Cheng Ge didn’t want to make noise, and Wen Ling only rounded his eyes, silent.
Calculating and being calculated, he still knew how to choose.
And compared to the original book, Cheng Ge still had places he could be relieved about. Ten thousand steps back, at least he wasn’t the one getting screwed.
And because Cheng Ge’s mind was clear, plus Wen Ling didn’t know how to hide it, his every look was easily guessed. Wen Ling’s preferred actions were also within his calculations.
Cheng Ge stroked Wen Ling’s back. The distance between the two closed a little.

Although it was a good thing, Cheng Ge really wanted to curse his mother.
Putting aside other feelings, Cheng Ge’s leg was bent, and the wound really hurt.
Cheng Ge wasn’t the type to look for suffering. Although very unwilling and ashamed, the facts being what they were, he still stood up and deliberately made Wen Ling’s back press against the cold wall.

Cheng Ge: “…”
Abnormal, abnormal. Cheng Ge suspected Wen Ling had masochistic tendencies.
Steam filled the bathroom. Because there was no mirror, Cheng Ge couldn’t see the scenery on his back clearly, but there probably wasn’t much.
Wen Ling really appeared stupid in this regard.
Knowing nothing, only knowing how to round his eyes.
The book wrote about how crazy he played, but that wasn’t necessarily true. He was simply a contradictory psycho.
And compared to the previous two days, aside from his thinking still being very jumpy, today’s Wen Ling inexplicably showed a bit of a good temper.
Cheng Ge exited the bathroom and saw Wen Ling curled up lying on the edge of the bed, eyes closed. The light shone through his eyelashes, casting shadows under his eyes like dark circles.
Wen Ling’s hair was still a bit wet.
Cheng Ge finished blowing his own hair, dragged the fake sleeper closer to him, yawned, and carelessly blew Wen Ling’s hair dry.
By the time everything was done, it was already late at night. Cheng Ge, with his good living habits, was already so sleepy he couldn’t open his eyes. He simply packed up his things and lay on the bed preparing to sleep.
Cheng Ge had a habit of hugging a quilt when sleeping, but it was summer, and there was no thick quilt on the bed. He couldn’t possibly take the initiative to hug Wen Ling now, so he curled up like the little lunatic to fall asleep.
Halfway between dreams and waking, Cheng Ge felt a cool object added to his embrace. He was sleepy and annoyed at being disturbed. He couldn’t help frowning, his hand unconsciously patting the restless guy a few times.
“Be a little good.”
The thing in his arms suddenly quieted down. After a while, Cheng Ge gradually drifted into his dream.
