How Did the Promised Yandere Villain Become a Clingy, Obedient Dog? Chapter 7

Chapter 7: I’m Shy!

Cheng Ge seemed to have drifted into a space, pitch-black and empty, when suddenly the familiar mechanical voice echoed from all directions.

001: [Congratulations, Host. The conquest value has reached 5.5%. For every five percentage points the conquest value increases, you gain one point. Points can be used to redeem corresponding items.]

[Items?]

Just as Cheng Ge was feeling puzzled, a glowing panel appeared in the pitch-black space.

  • One-Point Items: Relive a Memory (Once), Negate Injury (Once), Lie (Once)…

Cheng Ge saw the last item and the corner of his mouth twitched. He resisted the urge to roll his eyes and continued reading.

  • Two-Point Items: Time Reversal (20 Minutes)
  • Three-Point Items: Feign Death (3 Days)

[Reminder to Host: New items will be stocked periodically, please look forward to them.]

[Wait a minute,] Cheng Ge hurriedly called out to 001. [Wasn’t Wen Ling’s conquest value only at 5% before I went to sleep? When did it go up by another 0.5%?]

001: [When Wen Ling burrowed into the Host’s arms, and the Host coaxed him to sleep.]

Cheng Ge felt baffled: [When the hell did I coax that psycho to sleep!?]

[001 does not know. The Host can ask the party involved.]

Cheng Ge: […]

001 added: [Actually, it rose by 1%, but later it dropped by 0.5%.]

[It can drop too!?] Cheng Ge felt like the sky was falling.

[Yes.]

[Why would it drop?]

[001 does not know. The Host can ask…]

[…Get lost.] Cheng Ge cut 001 off huffily.

[Okay.]

This was going to be difficult. It turned out the conquest value could drop. What if that little lunatic Wen Ling got unhappy and cleared the value back to zero? Wouldn’t all his work be for nothing?

Cheng Ge was annoyed to death. The item redemption board in front of him kept flashing, which was incredibly irritating. He was just about to close the panel when he noticed a red “Recommended” tag under the “Lie (Once)” item.

Marking it red was meant to draw attention to its importance, right? Since Cheng Ge happened to have one point, he followed the hint and bought the “Lie (Once)” item.

Unexpectedly, the moment he clicked redeem, the entire space went black, and he passed out.

That night, Cheng Ge had nightmares again—bizarre and grotesque dreams he couldn’t remember clearly, but they were all about that psycho.

When he opened his eyes, everything was black. Cheng Ge felt that his eyes were covered by something.

Cheng Ge was stunned for a long while. He couldn’t figure out how his situation had suddenly turned into this. Wasn’t everything fine yesterday!?

“What do you want to do?” Cheng Ge asked, holding his breath.

Hearing Cheng Ge’s question, Wen Ling thought for a moment. He actually didn’t know why he wanted to do this, but he just wanted to.

Wen Ling recalled the strange thing from yesterday and asked, “You were very strange yesterday.”

Cheng Ge didn’t know how the little lunatic shifted the topic to this. “How was I strange?”

“You wanted to leave?” Wen Ling leaned in close, bringing a chill with him. “I said I wanted you to stay with me forever.”

“When did I say I wanted to leave!?” Cheng Ge was truly speechless. When did he ever try to leave!? Could he bear to leave before tearing this little lunatic into eight pieces!?

“Because you were acting off,” Wen Ling answered.

Cheng Ge: “…”

“What was off about it? Wasn’t I staying with you the whole time?” Cheng Ge’s tone wasn’t bad; he even sounded quite patient.

“But you will leave.”

Cheng Ge really didn’t want to talk to someone so stubborn and unreasonable. “You locked me up just because you’re afraid I’ll leave?”

Wen Ling didn’t say yes or no. He simply pressed something on Cheng Ge’s neck, which emitted a “beep” sound.

Fuck. Only then did Cheng Ge realize there was a collar on his neck. Damn it, that dead pervert Wen Ling!!! When had he ever suffered such humiliation?

But after cursing, a jolt went through his brain as he recalled the plot in the book. Motherfucker! That collar is a lie detector!!! If I lie, I get electrocuted!!!

He finally knew why the “Lie (Once)” item had been marked red last night…

“You won’t leave me?” Wen Ling’s voice was very gentle, yet it revealed a groundless paranoia.

Cheng Ge thought for a moment, then spoke to reiterate, “I won’t leave.” Not until you get your punishment.

The lie detector didn’t go off.

Wen Ling’s tone seemed to lift slightly. “You will stay with me forever.”

Cheng Ge immediately used the “Lie (Once)” item, smiling with a hint of smugness. “Of course, I will stay with you forever.”

It didn’t go off.

Wen Ling was silent for a good while, his tone becoming somewhat urgent and excited. “Say it again.”

Cheng Ge: “!!!???”

“I already said it once,” Cheng Ge pretended to be angry, acting a bit shy as well. “I’m not saying it again.”

“Say it, quickly!” Wen Ling pressed a small knife against Cheng Ge’s abdomen, his voice actually sounding a bit childish.

Cheng Ge was truly fucking speechless. Why did this dumbass carry a knife with him!?

Startled, a shiver ran through him. “I’m shy!”

After saying it, he felt utterly disgraced, but in the face of life and death, what was face in front of a psycho? Cheng Ge decided to go all out, his tone sounding aggrieved: “Don’t scratch me with the knife, it hurts.”

Wen Ling’s movements paused, and he actually moved the knife away. Before Cheng Ge had time to be happy, his whole body suddenly went numb, and he twitched uncontrollably.

Pain! His whole body hurt. The root of his tongue tasted salty, and his entire mouth was bitter.

The whole process probably only lasted about ten seconds, but to Cheng Ge, it felt like a century.

Screw this! If he doesn’t cut me, he switches to electrocution!? Psycho! Lunatic! If I ever say Wen Ling has a good temper again, I’m a dog.

Before he could think clearly or finish his internal cursing, Wen Ling pressed the knife against his knee.

“Lying puppy,” Wen Ling’s hand moved slowly. “If I chop them off, you can’t run.”

Cheng Ge went cold all over. He pulled the person into his arms. He really couldn’t care about anything else; one step too late and his lower legs would truly be gone.

And to have them slowly sawed off by a small knife… no one could endure that.

Cheng Ge’s eyes were blindfolded, so what he could do was very limited.

The knot loosened. Wen Ling tilted his head slightly, watching Cheng Ge slowly leave his field of vision.

[Conquest Value 6.5%.]

Cheng Ge felt absolutely disgusted. He could only hypnotize himself that everything was for the mission.

Cheng Ge wanted to lock lips with Wen Ling. His true purpose was to let the little lunatic taste how disgusting he himself was, but unfortunately, Cheng Ge couldn’t see.

He missed and kissed Wen Ling’s cheek…

[Conquest Value 7.5%.]

Cheng Ge: “?”

Only then did Cheng Ge remember—this seemed to be the first time he and the little lunatic had any procedure involving kissing.

Before, because he was facing Wen Ling, this nervous wreck, it was purely for the mission—acting on occasion, a disgusting act. How could he possibly have done any other intimate actions?

And Wen Ling probably didn’t understand anything. He didn’t know there could be a kissing procedure, so he never found fault with him in this regard, nor did he initiate intimacy.
