Chapter 2: Is There Any Other Way for an Antidote?
The man’s expression was cold; he didn’t look like he was joking.
Fu Yue looked up, meeting Ji Hanmo’s bottomless, ink-dark eyes. His mind roared, as if he had been hit hard.
“I was drugged?”
The burning body temperature and rapid breathing—under the flush of cold water, his physical state felt very obvious.
Fu Yue instinctively recalled everything at the banquet.
He had only had one glass of champagne; other than that, there was nothing unusual.
And that champagne had been handed to him by Shen Junnian!
Any normal person would understand what this kind of drug meant.
If he hadn’t slipped away just now, if he had really been taken away by Shen Junnian…
The words “teach you how to use your tongue to taste wine” floated back into his mind.
Shen Junnian had used this method to trick him into the lounge. He probably wasn’t going to teach him to taste wine, but to taste…
Thinking of this, Fu Yue’s already hot body became even hotter.
Something’s not right!
Fu Yue was startled.
He clearly didn’t like men. Thinking of those images, he should feel disgusted and repulsed. Why did he have a—shy feeling?
[Host, because you have transmigrated into a Danmei novel, the body you are using now actually likes men, ho ho ho!]
The system read his thoughts and immediately jumped out to answer.
[Host, last night when you were reading the novel and saw those R-rated segments, didn’t you notice you had a reaction?]
Fu Yue: “…”
Ji Hanmo looked at Fu Yue’s suddenly pale face and ignored him.
After turning the water temperature up a few degrees, he turned around. Before leaving the bathroom, he only left one sentence: “Take off your clothes and soak. Come out once you’ve calmed down.”
The bathroom door was closed, isolating everything outside.
Fu Yue sat blankly in the cold bathtub, the sound of flowing water rushing in his ears.
Ji Hanmo had adjusted the water temperature for him before leaving, so the water wasn’t bone-chillingly cold anymore.
Fu Yue grit his teeth and struggled to undo the buttons of his soaked suit jacket, then his shirt.
As those clothes were tossed into the laundry basket, he seriously examined this body for the first time.
This was a young and beautiful shell—tall, with long legs, wide shoulders, and a narrow waist. It was practically a model’s physique.
The muscle lines were a thin, smooth, and firm layer covering a well-proportioned skeleton, filled with the strength and flexibility of youth.
In the bathroom’s misty steam, his skin was white with a rosy tint.
He instinctively glanced below the water’s surface, which made his face turn red once again.
Under the waves of cool water, his physical state had indeed subsided by more than half.
He took the chance to organize his thoughts.
He had been set up by someone, then rescued by an even more mysterious and dangerous man.
What was this? Out of the wolf’s den and into the tiger’s lair?
But he had no choice right now.
Compared to being taken away by that lunatic Shen Junnian, staying here with Ji Hanmo was… at least safe for now.
After an unknown amount of time, just as Fu Yue was soaking until he almost lost sensation, there was a knock on the bathroom door.
“Are you okay?” The man’s voice was cold and emotionless.
The door was pushed open a crack.
“I’m fine.” Fu Yue immediately grabbed a bath towel alertly to cover himself.
Ji Hanmo did not enter.
A soft, white silk bathrobe was tossed through the crack in the door, landing on the clean vanity.
“Change into this.” Ji Hanmo’s voice came from across the door, sounding somewhat muffled.
After that, the door was shut tight again.
Fu Yue hesitated for a moment, stood up, dried his body with the towel, and put on the bathrobe.
The robe carried a faint, crisp scent of cedar. It was a bit too big for him, hanging loosely on his frame. Once the belt was tied, it made his figure look even more slender.
After doing all this, Fu Yue took a deep breath and pushed open the bathroom door.
Only one floor lamp was on in the living room of the presidential suite, emitting a dim, amber light.
Ji Hanmo was sitting on the sofa, wearing a dark gray silk robe. The collar was open, revealing his handsome collarbones and chest.
He had clearly bathed as well. His blow-dried black hair was fluffy and soft against his forehead, and his posture was lazy. A tablet was on his lap; he seemed to be handling business affairs, lacking the sharp pressure he had shown in the ballroom.
“Finished washing?”
Hearing the movement, Ji Hanmo raised his eyelids, his gaze landing on Fu Yue.
His gaze moved from Fu Yue’s damp hair to his steam-flushed cheeks, then to his partially visible chest under the robe and his straight calves, scrutinizing him inch by inch.
Fu Yue felt uncomfortable being looked at like that and instinctively tightened his collar, which earned him an unreadable light chuckle from Ji Hanmo.
“Thank you, Chairman Ji.” Fu Yue forced himself to speak, his voice a bit raspy. “It’s late, I’ll be going now…”
“Where are you going?” Ji Hanmo interrupted him, putting down the tablet with elegant movements. “Are you going to walk onto the street wearing my bathrobe?”
Fu Yue was left speechless by that single sentence.
Just then, the suite’s doorbell suddenly rang.
Ding-dong— Ding-dong—
The urgent doorbell sounded particularly piercing in the quiet room, breaking the eerie atmosphere between the two.
Fu Yue’s heart skipped an uneasy beat.
Ji Hanmo, however, acted as if he had expected it. Without a ripple of emotion on his face, he stood up and walked slowly toward the door.
With a “click,” the door opened.
“Ji Hanmo! I know Fu Yue is with you! Hand him over!” Shen Junnian’s voice came through, laced with fury.
When his gaze swept across the living room and finally locked onto Fu Yue—who was wearing only a large bathrobe with dripping hair—and then looked at Ji Hanmo, who was also in a robe, the rage on his handsome face instantly turned into overwhelming jealousy.
“Fu Yue!” Shen Junnian strode toward him with large steps.
Ji Hanmo, however, unhurriedly extended an arm, blocking Shen Junnian’s path.
“Young Master Shen,” his voice was authoritative, “My room is not a place for you to act wildly.”
Seeing that Fu Yue had clearly bathed, Shen Junnian questioned Ji Hanmo: “He’s my person! What did you do to him?!”
“What did I do?” Ji Hanmo’s tone was calm but tinged with sarcasm. “Why don’t you ask yourself what you did first? Using low-class methods like drugging wine—is this how the Shen family teaches their children?”
Shen Junnian’s face turned pale. He hadn’t expected Ji Hanmo to expose him directly.
Knowing he was in the wrong, his momentum weakened instantly. He turned his beautiful peach blossom eyes toward Fu Yue, looking pitiful as he said:
“Fu Yue, come with me. I promise I won’t force you. Trust me this once.”
Fu Yue, however, shook his head.
A man’s promise, especially regarding that sort of thing, had a credibility level that was basically zero.
He hadn’t gotten his hundred million yet; Fu Yue had to stay in this world and do his missions properly. But he absolutely couldn’t lose his virginity for no reason!
At this moment, he stood behind Ji Hanmo. At an angle Shen Junnian couldn’t see, he gently tugged on the sleeve of Ji Hanmo’s robe and pleaded in a low voice: “Chairman Ji, I don’t want to go with him! Can you let me stay?”
In this moment, dignity and reserve were all thrown out the window by Fu Yue.
Preserving his purity and his life was the most important thing!
“Fu Yue…” Shen Junnian showed a hurt expression.
“Did you hear that?” Ji Hanmo looked at Shen Junnian, his eyes turning cold. “He wants to stay with me.”
“You…” Shen Junnian was unwilling, but he couldn’t bring himself to force Fu Yue.
After a moment of silence, he finally made a compromise: “Fine, he can stay with you. But don’t forget, the Ji family and the Fu family still have cooperation talks to discuss. If Fu Yue doesn’t agree, you are not allowed to touch him!”
Shen Junnian handed the power of initiative back to Fu Yue.
Hearing this, Ji Hanmo nodded directly and agreed readily: “Fine.”
Having received the promise, Shen Junnian took one last deep look at Fu Yue. In his eyes, there was regret, apology, and an obsessive possessiveness.
“Fu Yue, I’m sorry about tonight.” Shen Junnian was referring to the drug in the wine. “I was terribly wrong.”
After saying this, seemingly afraid that Fu Yue wouldn’t forgive him, he turned and left quickly without waiting for a response.
The door shut with a “thud.”
Fu Yue finally let out a long sigh of relief, his hand that had been gripping Ji Hanmo’s sleeve dropping to his side.
“Thank you,” he said to Ji Hanmo.
However, the “you’re welcome” he expected didn’t come.
A light chuckle came from above him, filled with playfulness.
Fu Yue looked up and met Ji Hanmo’s half-smiling eyes.
“It’s ‘Chairman Ji’ when you’re begging me, but it’s just ‘thank you’ when you’re done with me?” Ji Hanmo took a step forward, pressing against him. “Young Master Fu, your skill at ‘burning the bridge after crossing’ is becoming more and more practiced.”
Fu Yue’s heart thudded.
He caught the deeper meaning in Ji Hanmo’s words.
Sure enough, Ji Hanmo continued: “Last year, for that piece of land in the south of the city, you took the initiative to find me and offered to trade your body for it. Then you stood me up. Did you forget so quickly?”
Fu Yue’s mind exploded.
He knew his character in the book was a playboy who didn’t do anything productive. Relying on his family background and a beautiful face, he often flirted around, and it was a daily occurrence for him to run away after teasing someone.
The original novel didn’t write it in such detail; he didn’t expect the original owner to have actually provoked Ji Hanmo.
Thinking of this, Fu Yue’s scalp felt numb.
Ji Hanmo “saving” him tonight was likely just him coming to settle the old score!
“I… I used to…” Fu Yue tried to explain, but found that anything he said would be hollow.
Ji Hanmo didn’t give him a chance to explain.
He reached out his arm, hooked it around Fu Yue’s waist, and cupped the back of his neck with his other hand, pulling him entirely into his embrace.
Their bodies were pressed tightly together. Through the thin silk robes, Fu Yue could clearly feel the strong heartbeat and burning body temperature of the other man.
The heat in his body that had just been suppressed seemed to show signs of a comeback.
Ji Hanmo was, of course, well aware of the slight changes in Fu Yue’s body.
“The effects of your drug haven’t worn off yet.” Ji Hanmo stated, his dark gaze falling on Fu Yue’s slightly parted, glistening lips. “If you take another cold shower, you’ll be in the hospital tomorrow.”
Fu Yue’s breath hitched. He could feel his body getting hotter and softer, and his reason was starting to blur.
He instinctively tried to lean back, but Ji Hanmo pressed closer.
He took a step back, and Ji Hanmo took a step forward.
Finally, Fu Yue’s calves hit the edge of the sofa, and he lost his balance, falling backward.
Amidst the dizziness, the expected impact didn’t come.
Ji Hanmo supported the back of his neck, using his arm to cushion his head.
“Then what should I do?” Fu Yue’s voice trembled. “Besides a cold shower, is there any other way?”
When he asked this, his mind was a complete blank.
Ji Hanmo pressed down on him, looking at his dazed and helpless appearance, the darkness in his eyes deepening.
He slowly leaned down, his warm breath fanning across Fu Yue’s ear, his voice carrying a fatal temptation.
“What do you think?”
