He went upstairs, took a hot bath, and then went downstairs to sit on the sofa.

Mother Shen looked at him a few more times and sighed. “Coming back this time, you seem to have grown up a lot.”
Shen Shuyu smiled and changed the subject. “Mom, let’s open presents.”
Mother Shen rubbed his head. Father Shen huffed aside and went to sit on the sofa.
Father and Mother Shen bought a lot of gifts, mostly rare items that looked expensive at a glance.
But Shen Shuyu’s heart finally settled. Father and Mother Shen weren’t as difficult to get along with as he imagined.
However, he still had to ask what needed asking.
Shen Shuyu sat cross-legged on the floor. Glancing at Mother Shen, who was happily helping him open gifts beside him, he asked, pretending to be casual, “Mom, Brother said you and Dad were traveling around the world. Why come back suddenly?”
Mother Shen’s hand paused. Her expression remained normal. “Didn’t we hear from your brother about your performance? Your dad and I decided to come back early, but didn’t expect you to give us a big scare.”
“Sorry,” Shen Shuyu said. “Made you waste a trip and worry.”
Mother Shen turned sideways, reaching up to pinch his cheek. “As long as you’re healthy. Mom and Dad just care about you. Your dad cares too; he looks fierce, but actually, he didn’t sleep well all last night.”
Shen Shuyu turned to look at Father Shen. Father Shen was on the phone with a friend. Sensing the gaze, Father Shen looked at him and asked gently, “What is it?”
Shen Shuyu shook his head and happily continued opening gifts with Mother Shen.
He continued, “You didn’t even tell me you were coming back.”
“If we told you, wouldn’t the surprise be gone?” Mother Shen sighed. “Your recent changes, your brother told me all about them. And about Chi Yanxun, your brother told us too.”
Mother Shen put down the box in her hand. She reached out and rubbed Shen Shuyu’s head. “Baby, Mom and Dad are like your brother; we support you liking anyone. But you must know, your affection shouldn’t be trampled on by others at will. There are many people in this world; there will always be someone you like who also cherishes you, understand?”
Shen Shuyu nodded. He actively shook his head, rubbing his soft hair against Mother Shen’s palm. “I know, Mom. I don’t like him anymore.”
“Oh? Really?” Mother Shen was surprised.
Shen Shuyu nodded seriously. “Yes. I just want to study hard now and become an excellent mecha mechanic in the future. I will work hard to realize Brother’s dream for him.”
Mother Shen didn’t speak, just stroked his head repeatedly. Shen Shuyu smiled at her and lowered his head to continue opening gifts.

Father Shen got up from the sofa. “Since everyone is back, let’s eat.”
The housekeeper served the dishes. Mother Shen sat with Shen Shuyu, piling food into his bowl until it formed a peak.
Shen Shuyu said helplessly, “Mom, eat yours. Don’t worry about me.”
Sitting opposite, Shen Yisi said, “Mom, you have to treat us equally, right?”
He signaled his empty bowl with his eyes. Mother Shen couldn’t help laughing. “How old are you, still jealous over this.”
Although she said that, she still put Shen Yisi’s favorite dishes in his bowl.
The family of four was harmonious. Toward the end of the meal, Father Shen suddenly spoke up. “Little Fish.”
Shen Shuyu put down his chopsticks and looked at Father Shen. “Dad, what is it?”
