Chapter 13
Back home, Shen Shuyu tossed and turned, still unable to sleep.
Wen Jiafei didn’t look like someone with money. Where did he get so much money in one night?
Soon, Shen Shuyu searched out a place in his mind.
In the second half of the novel, an underground boxing place seemed to be mentioned. The Protagonist Shou fought there once for livelihood and got seriously injured. After Chi Yanxun found out about this, he was heartbroken for quite a while.
Money came fast, and it was paid in cash.
Wen Jiafei definitely went there too.
Shen Shuyu immediately woke up Xiao 1: [Quick, search a place for me, underground boxing.]
Xiao 1’s indicator light flashed twice, and it said very awkwardly: [Master, my energy is already overloaded today. And underground boxing doesn’t contain Master’s plot points, so Master doesn’t need to go.]
Of course he knew there was no plot for him; he was going for the designated survival plan! As the saying goes, know the enemy to defeat the enemy.
Underground boxing was actually the hardest place to gauge Wen Jiafei’s combat power! Although he could fight too, he couldn’t guarantee he could really beat him.
However, this system had quite a bit of energy issues, running out or overloading at the drop of a hat. Shen Shuyu couldn’t help complaining: [Xiao 1, can’t your Master Mind give you guys a bit more energy? It’s hard to proceed with some plots like this.]
Xiao 1 made an electronic heart gesture to Shen Shuyu and didn’t speak again.
Great, this cheat is done for today.
Without the address for the underground boxing, Shen Shuyu couldn’t go find Wen Jiafei. Looks like he could only probe again tomorrow.
The next day.
Shen Shuyu arrived at school early. He looked at the schedule; today was Mecha Simulation Class.
He went to the virtual classroom but didn’t see Wen Jiafei. He waited patiently, but even until class started, he didn’t see him.
What’s going on?
Did he just not come today?
But soon, Shen Shuyu’s attention was attracted by the Mecha Simulation Class. The simulation class involved students entering custom pods where machines connected to their mental strength to enter another screen.
It was a bit like the VR from his past life, but the difference was that this custom pod allowed them to design mechas themselves and add combat, defense, and other skills to the mechas.
The simulation teacher held up a dedicated storage key and said, “Insert the key into the connection port when you go in to save all information. Our final assessment for this semester is to create your own mecha. At the end of the term, find a partner or someone from the Reserve Department to fight against. The winner gets an A; the loser retakes the course next semester.”
Shen Shuyu received his own storage key. It was called a key, but it didn’t have the shape of a key. Everyone’s shapes were similar but distinct; his was in the shape of a crescent moon.
He quite liked it.
In this class, the teacher spoke about some precautions. He listened very seriously, and when it ended, he was still left wanting more.
Shen Shuyu couldn’t wait to lie in that mechanical pod and try it out, but the teacher said they could only go in next week. He was slightly disappointed, but on second thought, he could use this week to find some mecha-related knowledge to study on his own. Lay a good foundation to amaze everyone with a single feat!
Shen Shuyu stretched, preparing to follow the main group to the next classroom, but caught a glimpse of a familiar figure coming out of the office.
Mn?
Wen Jiafei appeared!
He looked closely. Wen Jiafei was wearing the uniform school uniform, looking listless, his complexion not looking too good either. Wen Jiafei’s slender fingers grasped a chain, a star key swinging back and forth in the air with his walking movements. He went into the office just for that storage key.
He didn’t notice Shen Shuyu, walking silently toward the next classroom alone.
Shen Shuyu followed behind him. Wen Jiafei’s movements were obviously not nimble. It looked like he really went to the underground boxing place last night.
[Master~ Why do you care so much about Wen Jiafei?] Xiao 1 suddenly popped a sentence in his head. Logically speaking, he should care more about the protagonists Chi Yanxun and Shen Xili now; after all, these two were the core characters of the novel world.
Shen Shuyu rolled his eyes: [Wen Jiafei concerns whether I can live or not later. If it were you, would you care?]
He had already died once due to an accident and barely picked up another life. Moreover, he was confident he could achieve a 90% completion rate for this world. Since he was going to die of old age in this world naturally, he definitely cared more about this life.
Xiao 1 had nothing to say.
Soon Shen Shuyu arrived at the classroom. This class was fine; it was a theory class, so he just needed to sit.
As soon as he entered the classroom, he saw Wen Jiafei sitting in the corner. His popularity in school wasn’t very good; precisely because he was a loner, he was bullied by the original host.
Feng Xing called out to Shen Shuyu; he had saved a seat in the middle. Shen Shuyu walked over, and Feng Xing said, “Shuyu, why have you suddenly been listening to lectures so seriously these past two days?”
Shen Shuyu looked at him. Feng Xing hurriedly waved his hand. “I didn’t mean that. It’s just that before, you wouldn’t listen even when told to. President Shen even asked my parents last night how you were performing in school.”
Shen Shuyu raised an eyebrow lightly. “Then how did you reply?”
“Of course I replied truthfully. President Shen must be very happy that you’re studying so seriously.” Feng Xing chuckled twice. “By the way, I’ve agreed to play Fierce Battle with friends tonight. Are you coming?”
“We’ll see.” Shen Shuyu actually wanted to play the games of this world too, to see how they differed from his past life, but he had more important things to do.
Yesterday Wen Jiafei said he would go to the hospital to pay after school. He wanted to go check again.
The theory class ended, and it was time for lunch break.
There was a cafeteria in the academy. As soon as the bell rang, Feng Xing left with other classmates. Everyone left quickly, only Wen Jiafei remained sitting in his original spot, then fished out a small bun from his schoolbag and ate it slowly, his eyes still staring at the book.
No wonder he was so thin. Does he only eat this for lunch?
Watching him, Shen Shuyu remembered his past life. When he was studying, although there were poverty subsidies and some scholarships, he lived very poorly, often eating steamed buns and porridge in the cafeteria to save money. As a normal developing male, it wasn’t enough at all, but without money, he could only endure. When hungry, he drank water; the water in school was free.
His thoughts drifted, and he unknowingly walked in front of Wen Jiafei.
Wen Jiafei had silently swallowed the last bite of bread. He looked up at Shen Shuyu and didn’t speak.
Shen Shuyu discovered that Wen Jiafei had a mute personality, especially when dealing with him; he belonged to the type who wouldn’t make a sound if he didn’t have to.
Shen Shuyu didn’t mind. He said, “I’m hungry.”
Wen Jiafei frowned.
Sure enough, Shen Shuyu said in the next second, “Go cook for me.”
He sat in his seat without moving. Shen Shuyu suddenly reached out and pinched his chin, lifting his face up. “You’d better not provoke me, or I’ll make it so you can’t. Survive. In. This. School.”
