I Became a Heartthrob After Transmigrating into an ABO World chapter 182

Chapter 182

Shen Shuyu asked tentatively, “By the way, about Black Robe…”

“The ocean is too wide; he couldn’t be found,” Shen Xili said. “Actually, this is for the best. Not finding him means he might still be alive.”

Shen Shuyu looked at him in confusion. Shen Xili explained, “He failed his mission and let so many people know about the existence of the interstellar pirates. If he goes back, it’s a dead end.”

Shen Shuyu opened his mouth, thinking: True.

“What about the three people we caught?”

“They’re also dead.” Shen Xili spoke while tucking the blanket in for him. “Ten minutes before the colleagues from the special cases unit arrived, all three died.”

Shen Shuyu was shocked. “What?”

“So, Black Robe kidnapping you was actually for his own survival,” Shen Xili said. “In front of so many people, he was stabbed by you, hit by a bullet, and finally swept away by the sea. To the organization, he is a dead man.”

The organization’s people could come to Amor, but they couldn’t send a massive crowd just to search for Black Robe’s whereabouts. That would be too conspicuous. Black Robe had counted on this; he was certain the organization wouldn’t send people to find him. Besides, the ocean was so vast that a search wouldn’t be finished in a day or two.

So he took that massive risk.

Shen Shuyu nodded. “So that’s how it was.”

No wonder. That fight Black Robe had with him on the beach—he had felt even then that Black Robe didn’t truly want to kill him, not to mention that final “thanks.”

With this explanation, everything made sense.

Black Robe faked his death, the Unlocking Core the interstellar pirates wanted back was now under the care of the special department, and Shen Xili had a new, safe path. More importantly, he no longer rejected the Shen family.

Things were roughly moving in a good direction.

Shen Shuyu exhaled a breath, feeling much more relaxed.

Just then, Shen Xili suddenly asked, “By the way, does Wen Jiafei know about me and the Shen family?”

Shen Shuyu shook his head. “He doesn’t.”

Shen Xili raised an eyebrow slightly. Shen Shuyu explained, “I felt this was between you and the family, so I wanted to wait for you to tell him yourself.”

Shen Xili looked thoughtful and gave a slight nod. “Then please tell him for me. I’ve already moved out of the apartment; we probably won’t see each other for a short while.”

Shen Shuyu nodded, thinking that Shen Xili truly was a member of the Shen family—his efficiency was exactly the same.

Shen Xili glanced at his watch. “Doctor Yue said it’s best for you to stay in the hospital for observation tonight. Brother Yisi will come to pick you up tomorrow morning. I won’t be coming; I have to go to school to handle some procedures.”

These procedures could actually be left to Shen Yisi. With just a word from him, all the necessary documents would be on the desk within ten minutes.

But Shen Xili refused. Some things were better handled by himself.

Shen Yisi didn’t insist either.

Shen Xili explained, “He had a mountain of work left from yesterday, so he’s been at the company all day. Aunt and Uncle came this morning, but Aunt didn’t sleep well last night, so I had them go back first.”

Shen Shuyu nodded. “Okay, I understand.”

Shen Xili stood up. “Then I’ll go take care of my own business. Doctor Yue will be over in a bit. If you need anything, just tell him.”

Shen Shuyu hummed. “Okay.”

Shen Xili looked down at him, seemingly letting go of something. “See you at home.”

After Shen Xili left, the room became quiet again. Before leaving, he had opened the curtains for Shen Shuyu. The sunlight outside was quite nice today, and some of it spilled in, making the hospital room very bright.

Shen Shuyu took a deep breath. Shen Xili’s matter was officially settled.

[Master, do you think Shen Xili will become a General?] The System popped up again.

Shen Shuyu withdrew his gaze and said: [He will.]

When Shen Shuyu was discharged the next day, the family driver came to pick him up. Shen Yisi had an emergency meeting and called to tell him to wait at the hospital until he was finished.

Shen Shuyu declined. He wasn’t a child, after all. Once the discharge procedures were done, he could just wander back himself. But Shen Yisi wasn’t at ease, and since he couldn’t resist Shen Shuyu’s desire to leave immediately, he sent the driver.

The driver took him directly back to the Shen residence. Shen Xili had left for school early in the morning, so only Father and Mother Shen were home.

Mother Shen held Shen Shuyu’s hand and said, “Don’t go to strange places anymore. Come home as soon as it gets dark. You’ve been in the hospital for two days, and your face has grown so thin you’re barely recognizable.”

While his meals had been a bit irregular during his stay, he hadn’t grown that thin. Shen Shuyu held Mother Shen’s hand. Shen Yisi and the others had spoken to him in advance; they hadn’t mentioned the interstellar pirates, only saying he had been kidnapped by a thug while out wandering.

Shen Shuyu said gently, “Okay, Mom. I’ll be careful when I go out from now on. This was just an accident. Next time, I won’t go to places with few people.”

Mother Shen nagged a few more times. Father Shen, who had been silent, finally spoke up: “Didn’t you say you simmered some soup for Xiao Yu? Is it ready? If it is, have someone bring it out.”

“Right, right,” Mother Shen said. “Sit for a bit. I’ll go check the kitchen to see if the soup is ready to nourish you.”

With that, she got up and left the living room.

Shen Shuyu sat obediently. “Dad.”

Father Shen wasn’t as easy to fool as Mother Shen. He glanced at Mother Shen’s retreating figure, and once he was sure she couldn’t hear, he said, “The wound on your body—it’s nothing serious, right?”

Shen Shuyu shook his head. “It’s fine.”

“The police station already told me,” Father Shen said. “You kids were too reckless.”

Shen Shuyu lowered his head to listen to the lecture humbly. However, Father Shen only said a few words before Mother Shen personally brought out a bowl of soup. “Baby, this soup is incredibly delicious. Drink more.”

Shen Shuyu hurried to take it. “Okay, Mom.”

Since Mother Shen was there, Father Shen naturally couldn’t say more to avoid scaring her. The father and son shared a look, and Shen Shuyu lowered his head to drink the soup.

Indeed, home was the most comfortable place.

After finishing the soup, since Father and Mother Shen had to visit a friend today, they called for a car and left. Shen Shuyu went upstairs alone. Just as a maid finished cleaning the room next to his, she came out and said, “Young Master.”

Shen Shuyu nodded and peeked through the crack in the door. The room next to his had been empty before, but overnight, a lot of furniture had been added, making it a cozy bedroom. This must be Shen Xili’s room.

After the maid left, Shen Shuyu stood at the door for a moment, then reached out to pull the door shut for him before returning to his own bedroom.

Once back in his room, Shen Shuyu checked his terminal and realized that Wen Jiafei had sent him a message this morning. He had been in the car at the time. After staying in the hospital for so long, he had been staring out the window for fresh air and hadn’t noticed the terminal. Upon returning, he was busy talking with Father and Mother Shen, so he naturally hadn’t had time to check it.

[Wen Jiafei: Are you coming to class today?]

Last night, he had told Wen Jiafei why he hadn’t gone to class. Shen Shuyu looked around, sat on the sofa chair in his room, and replied: [Not coming, just got home. See you tomorrow.]

It should still be class time. Just as Shen Shuyu was about to put the terminal down to take a shower, Wen Jiafei replied: [Mn, see you tomorrow.]

Shen Shuyu was puzzled: [Are you not in class?]

Wen Jiafei: [The teacher let us do self-study.]

So that was it. Shen Shuyu replied “Study hard” and mentioned he was going to shower.

The other side didn’t reply again.

Feng Xing looked at the teacher on the podium, then at Wen Jiafei. Today’s Wen Jiafei was truly a rare sight—he was actually playing with his terminal in class! Even the top student couldn’t resist the boredom of the curriculum?

Feng Xing already imagined how many people would fail this course after the exam. Suddenly, he wasn’t worried anymore.

Shen Shuyu came out of the shower half an hour later. A soak had definitely made him feel much better.

He dried his hair with a hairdryer. Just as he put it down, he heard a knock on the door.

Shen Shuyu walked over. Upon opening the door, he found Shen Xili standing outside.

“Finished?” Shen Shuyu asked first.

Shen Xili nodded. “Mn, wasn’t much to do. What do you want for lunch?”

Shen Shuyu had just gulped down a bowl of soup and was still full. He said, “Let the chef cook whatever. I just had a bowl of chicken soup, so I’m not very hungry yet.”

Shen Xili said, “Mn, then let’s eat later. It’s just the two of us today, and I’m not very hungry either.”

“Sure.” Shen Shuyu had no objections.

He looked at Shen Xili and, after some thought, advised: “Don’t be stiff. This is your home too.” He, the fake one, was perfectly at ease, after all.

Shen Xili understood his meaning and reached out to flick his forehead. “I’m truly not hungry. I ate a roasted sweet potato on the way back.”

Shen Shuyu clutched his forehead where it had been flicked and let out a long “Ah!”

“Eating alone makes you gain a hundred pounds!”

Then, a split second before Shen Xili could retaliate, he cleanly and quickly shut the door.
