I Became a Heartthrob After Transmigrating into an ABO World chapter 21

Chapter 21

Shen Shuyu fell asleep unknowingly.

Outside in the corridor, on the bench provided for patients to rest, Shen Yisi was sitting upright. The hospital was very quiet; at this late hour, it was so silent that one could easily hear a pin drop.

The back of his head rested against the wall behind him. Unknown thoughts occupied his mind as he sat there, quiet and silent.

The next day.

Shen Shuyu slept until nine in the morning, waking up only when the doctor came for rounds. He sat up in bed and stretched his neck. The doctor took his temperature and checked various data. Once confirmed, he told Shen Shuyu he could be discharged.

As soon as Shen Yisi and his doctor friend stepped into the ward, they saw Shen Shuyu looking at them, eyes shining like a puppy.

A trace of a smile appeared on Shen Yisi’s face. He asked, “What did the doctor say during rounds just now?”

Shen Shuyu said, “I’m fine. I didn’t lie to you, right? I’m really fine.”

Shen Yisi looked at his friend. “Yue Cheng, is Xiao Yu really okay?”

In Yue Cheng’s hand were all the results from Shen Shuyu’s examination the previous night. He mumbled, “Physically, there’s nothing wrong.”

What does ‘physically nothing wrong’ mean?

Both Shen Shuyu and Shen Yisi looked at him. When Yue Cheng looked up, he met the gaze of the two brothers. He said, “Why are you two looking at me?”

But he quickly added, “It’s just that there’s a slight issue with Xiao Yu’s pheromones. I suggest doing a re-test in a bit to analyze it.”

“A problem with pheromones?” Shen Yisi frowned.

Shen Shuyu didn’t quite understand. He asked, “Is it serious?”

After all, he had crammed knowledge on this subject. Pheromones were very important for both Omegas and Alphas; the slightest carelessness could lead to disorders, endangering one’s life.

Yue Cheng said, “I can’t tell specifically right now. We have to test and analyze it to know. There’s a machine in the inpatient department on the eighth floor. Just go draw some fluid and test it.”

“Okay, let’s go now.” Shen Yisi placed the bag he was holding by the bed: “Go change your clothes.”

Shen Shuyu gave an “Oh,” got out of bed, and took the bag into the adjacent bathroom.

After he left, Shen Yisi’s expression instantly became heavy. He asked, “What exactly is going on?”

Yue Cheng shook his head. “I really can’t tell right now, but rest assured, it shouldn’t be a major problem.”

Shen Yisi pursed his lips, his mood not improving because of those words.

The three of them went down to the eighth floor. Shen Shuyu’s gaze subconsciously went to the door of the Intensive Care Unit. He wondered if Wen Jiafei’s mother was any better. Speaking of which, would Wen Jiafei come to see his mother today?

“What are you thinking about?” Shen Yisi asked, seeing him zone out.

Shen Shuyu snapped back to reality. “Nothing.”

Yue Cheng led Shen Shuyu into the testing area, while Shen Yisi waited outside.

Extracting pheromones was simple; a specific needle pierced the gland to draw a little blood.

However, the gland was too sensitive. Usually, Shen Shuyu wouldn’t blink at an injection, but now, with just a little blood drawn, it hurt so much his eyes filled with tears, and he couldn’t help but let out a scream.

Fortunately, the process wasn’t long.

He came out of the room clutching his gland. Shen Yisi coaxed him and patted his head. “Good job.”

He used to cry even harder.

The analysis would take some time. Shen Shuyu and Shen Yisi sat on the bench waiting. Once his gland felt a bit better, Shen Shuyu couldn’t help but look toward Wen Jiafei’s mother’s hospital room.

But he couldn’t see it from this position.

Shen Shuyu thought for a moment and said, “Brother, I’m going to the bathroom. I’ll be right back.”

Shen Yisi was on a call with someone from the company. Hearing this, he moved the phone away and instructed, “Don’t run around, come back soon.”

But Shen Shuyu walked extremely fast and didn’t hear Shen Yisi’s words.

Shen Yisi watched his back, shook his head helplessly, and then went back to listening intently to the phone call.

Shen Shuyu took a detour before reaching the door of Wen Jiafei’s mother’s room. He looked inside through the glass window on the door. The doctor was currently doing rounds. Through the gap, he could see a bit of her face.

It was Wen Jiafei’s mother. It seemed she hadn’t improved yet.

But judging by the looks of it, she should be on that special medication. He rubbed his nose, stopped looking, and swaggered off to find the public restroom.

By the time he came out of the restroom and returned to the pheromone testing room, Yue Cheng was already holding the test sheet and talking to Shen Yisi. Neither of them looked relaxed, but they didn’t look too grim either.

Shen Shuyu walked over and asked, “Brother, Brother Yue Cheng, how are the results?”

Yue Cheng looked at him and said, “There are no other problems, it’s just that the pheromones changed.”

“Mn? Pheromones changed?” Shen Shuyu didn’t quite understand. What did it mean that pheromones changed?

Yue Cheng handed the test report to him. Shen Shuyu looked down. There was a bunch of terminology he didn’t quite understand, so his gaze moved to the last line of small bold text.

Pheromone: Floral Series.

Floral Series?

It didn’t specify exactly what flower.

Shen Shuyu looked up at Yue Cheng again and asked, “Will it cause any bad factors for my body?”

Yue Cheng shook his head. “That won’t happen. However, everyone’s pheromones usually don’t change after differentiation, and you don’t look like you’re undergoing secondary differentiation, so it’s quite strange.”

Pheromones generally began to nurture in the body from birth. Even Betas with naturally atrophied glands actually had extractable pheromones in their bodies.

Even with secondary differentiation, pheromones wouldn’t change too drastically.

Previously, Shen Shuyu’s pheromone was White Peach in Snow. This time, it differentiated directly into a Floral Series. It was the first time Yue Cheng had seen such a thing in his life.

“As long as there are no physical problems,” Shen Yisi said. “Let’s not complicate this matter.”

Yue Cheng pouted. He had wanted to find someone to research this, but since Shen Yisi said so, he could only let it go. He nodded. “Understood. But Little Yu, you should take time to come over once a month for a test to check the stability.”

Shen Shuyu first glanced at Shen Yisi, then nodded. “Okay.”

Shen Yisi said, “Since everything is fine, we’ll leave first.”

Yue Cheng said, “Together. It’s time for me to get off work too.”

The two of them walked in front, with Shen Shuyu following behind. When passing Wen Jiafei’s mother’s room, Shen Shuyu pretended to be curious and asked, “Brother Yue Cheng, can the illness of the person living in here still be treated?”

Yue Cheng took a look and said, “Late-stage pheromone disorder. It can be treated, but the medical costs are exorbitant. It’s not something an average family can bear, so usually, after treating it for a while, the family voluntarily gives up. But the person in here has been staying for quite a long time. I participated in a consultation for her with my teacher before. She and her son depend on each other for survival. The son is still studying, working part-time while studying to save for medical expenses. Honestly, my teacher said that kid is someone who can achieve great things.”

Shen Shuyu pursed his lips slightly and nodded. “That’s really impressive.”

He was starting to understand a bit why Wen Jiafei would become so crazy in the end.

If it were him, he would also want to blow up this world.
