At the same time, Shen Yisi, who was on a business trip, was woken up by a phone call. He looked; it was his good friend.
He turned on the night light, sat up in bed, answered the call, and said, “You better have something important to say.”
It was already 2:00 AM. Since his business trip started, he had been working until eleven or twelve at night every day, sometimes even until dawn. Tonight, work finally ended early, and he could rest early, but a phone call messed it up.
His friend said, “You can actually still sleep? Your brother is about to encounter danger!”

The friend paused. “You don’t know?”
“Speak quickly!” Shen Yisi frowned deeply. He had been busy recently, waking early and sleeping late. His schedule didn’t match Shen Shuyu’s at all. Plus, due to Shen Shuyu’s studies, Shen Yisi hadn’t contacted him for a few days.
The friend said, “Your Little Yu bribed an Alpha and followed the Chi family kid to participate in the Survival War. I’ll send you a link; look for yourself. I couldn’t sleep tonight either, so I clicked in out of boredom and discovered it.”
The Survival War organized jointly by eight academies was the most discussed topic recently. During work this afternoon, the partners even mentioned it. He only echoed a few sentences but didn’t expect Shen Shuyu to actually go!

Shen Yisi exited the link and dialed another number on his phone.
The phone rang for a long time before being picked up. Shen Yisi said, “Sorry to disturb you, Principal. This is Shen Yisi, Shen Shuyu’s brother…”
Shen Shuyu sneezed, then rubbed his nose and sniffled, hugging himself tightly with both hands. He raised his head and looked around. He didn’t feel cold while moving earlier, but now that they had rested for less than half an hour, the real temperature became apparent.
Shen Shuyu rubbed his arms, muttering, “This temperature difference between day and night is too huge.”
It was even more exaggerated than outside.
Lin Xuyi was next to him. Hearing Shen Shuyu, he explained, “The Survival War simulates the four seasons outside. It’s very likely tonight is cold like winter, and tomorrow night will be hot like a furnace. This is actually why everyone is unwilling to leave the Safe House at night.”

Chi Yanxun, He Mingyue, and Shen Xili were discussing the next strategy. Shen Shuyu looked to the other side; Wen Jiafei was leaning quietly against a tree, eyes narrowed in a nap.
He looked like he wasn’t cold at all.
Lin Xuyi asked, “What are you looking at?”
Shen Shuyu voiced his thought. Lin Xuyi said “Oh” and added, “Maybe he’s naturally gifted.”
Shen Shuyu nodded in agreement. Protagonists were always more formidable than cannon fodder like them.
Soon, Chi Yanxun and the others finished their discussion. Chi Yanxun said, “Rest for another half hour, then we’ll head straight to the next level in one go. Otherwise, we won’t make it in time.”
He looked at Shen Shuyu, who was constantly breathing on his hands while staying with Lin Xuyi. He frowned but still opened his own bag and took out a windbreaker.
Shen Shuyu was still breathing on his hands when a jacket filled with the scent of Strong Liquor fell from the sky, covering his face directly. He took the jacket down and heard Chi Yanxun say, “Put it on yourself. If you get sick, no one has time to take care of you.”
Shen Shuyu’s brows relaxed. “Thank you, Brother Yanxun!”
Why is this Protagonist Gong suddenly acting un-straight? This is covered in his pheromones; it’s kind of embarrassing.
Although Shen Shuyu thought this, his speed in putting on the clothes didn’t slow down a bit.
Chi Yanxun’s build was much larger than Shen Shuyu’s. After zipping it up, he looked like a child who stole an adult’s clothes. The hem of the jacket reached below his butt, and the two sleeves were long too. He rolled them up twice before revealing his hands.
Wrapped in Chi Yanxun’s pheromones, Shen Shuyu instantly felt much less cold.
This jacket is too freeze-proof. I’ll note down the brand later and buy one for myself in winter.
Lin Xuyi helped him adjust the collar, laughing, “It fits the Captain perfectly, but why does it look like you’re wearing a dress?”
Shen Shuyu made a zipping motion at him. If you can’t speak nicely, just don’t speak.
Chi Yanxun only felt it was somewhat inappropriate after Shen Shuyu put it on. Although he kept this jacket as a change of clothes, Alphas had strong territorial instincts. Even a piece of clothing would unconsciously be tainted with pheromones to warn others not to touch. Why did I just lose my head and throw it over? Shen Shuyu is probably going to overthink again.
Chi Yanxun felt a headache coming. He simply did something unnecessary!
But if it were the original host without the core switch, putting on Chi Yanxun’s clothes, he would definitely be so happy he’d wish never to take them off for days. But the current Shen Shuyu was alright; he didn’t have too many thoughts, only thinking the Protagonist Gong finally did something human.
The two parties involved had their own thoughts. Instead, unnoticed by them, Wen Jiafei, who was leaning against the tree branch napping, opened his eyes at some point. He watched Shen Shuyu talking with Lin Xuyi, thoughts unknown. A few seconds later, he closed his eyes again.
Half an hour later, the group set off on time again.
