Chapter 70
As soon as the Sky Voice finished the countdown, the two of them rushed toward the weapon rack at high speed. Shen Shuyu’s stamina had increased rapidly after days of ‘physical training’ within the survival station.
The two arrived at the weapon rack almost simultaneously. However, Bai Wei was a top-tier Alpha after all; he drew the staff faster and thrust it toward Shen Shuyu’s heart.
Shen Shuyu dodged and fluidly pulled out a wooden sword from the rack to block, preventing the staff from poking the clothes over his heart.
Bai Wei clicked his tongue lightly. “Not bad reaction speed.”
Shen Shuyu nodded slightly. “You’re not bad either.”
He lifted his foot and kicked sideways toward Bai Wei. Bai Wei dodged, and the two separated.
Bai Wei looked at him. “It’s rare to meet an Omega like you. You trained before?”
Shen Shuyu flourished a sword flower. “Trained a little bit.”
Bai Wei raised the staff and rushed up again. He didn’t care about anything else; he only knew he had to eliminate Shen Shuyu.
Shen Shuyu managed to block a couple of times. In all his time in this world, the only time he had fought properly was that one time he saved Wen Jiafei. Aside from that, it was just inside the survival station, but in reality, even in team fights there, he was just an auxiliary mascot.
Blocked twice and unable to find an opening to stab Shen Shuyu, Bai Wei couldn’t help asking, “Is your major ‘Escaping’?”
Shen Shuyu laughed softly. “Can’t stab me so you start making excuses for yourself? In that case, just put the staff down there and I’ll poke you three times myself. That way you win too, although it’s a bit… tsk.”
In their brief exchange, Bai Wei realized Shen Shuyu wasn’t weak. It completely overturned his perception of Omegas. He couldn’t help but think distractedly that Amor Planet was indeed their strongest rival—even their Omegas could fight this well, and were this sarcastic to boot!
Bai Wei’s expression gradually became serious. “No need. I’ll finish you within ten moves.”
Shen Shuyu made a ‘please’ gesture. Bai Wei rushed up again. This time, it felt distinctly different from before; he was genuinely trying to insta-kill Shen Shuyu.
Shen Shuyu rejoiced. In his past life, he had secretly learned a few moves for self-protection. Coupled with the fact that the Mecha Department the original owner belonged to had combat classes and special physical training, it was enough to wear down Bai Wei’s stamina.
He only dodged, never attacking. As they fought, Bai Wei began to realize this too. He shouted angrily, “Fight back!”
Shen Shuyu sidestepped. Taking advantage of the gap while Bai Wei was speaking, the wooden sword in his hand stabbed toward Bai Wei’s heart quickly and ruthlessly, without a shred of hesitation. Because Bai Wei was distracted for a few seconds, he was stabbed squarely.
Shen Shuyu retracted his hand and smiled. “I got lucky.”
In the Misty Forest, the group’s eyes were glued to the Sky Screen, watching Shen Shuyu’s practiced movements and that unhesitating strike at Bai Wei’s heart.
“Heavens…” Lin Xuyi was a bit dazed. “Is the Little Young Master this good at fighting? If we knew he could fight like this, we wouldn’t have needed to protect him all the way…”
Chi Yanxun also felt complicated. He had always thought Shen Shuyu was an Omega who only knew how to eat, drink, and have fun, chasing behind his butt every day, looking fragile and unable to take care of himself. If he accidentally got a microscopic cut, he would cry with red eyes for half the day.
He was the type of Omega Chi Yanxun disliked the most; he liked Omegas who were stronger. Now it seemed… had Shen Shuyu been pretending all along? To pretend for so many years, that was truly difficult for him.
He couldn’t help looking at Shen Xili sitting beside him. Shen Xili, on the other hand, had a look of appreciation on his face.
Chi Yanxun pursed his lips and turned his gaze back to the Sky Screen.
Watching the screen, Wen Jiafei’s expression grew increasingly confused. He remembered that when he was beaten off-guard back then, he had hazily seen the person who saved him strike out to deal with Yellow Hair and the others.
Shen Shuyu’s back looked more and more like that person.
He felt his thinking beginning to split. Half his mind was thinking how could it be Shen Shuyu? Shen Shuyu was someone who only liked watching drama, not becoming the drama. And if Shen Shuyu had seen him in such a predicament, he would have struck even harder than Yellow Hair’s group.
But the other half of his mind was saying: It is Shen Shuyu.
Ever since Shen Shuyu was induced into heat, he had changed a lot upon their next meeting. Although his mouth was still unforgiving, his behavior had largely been reined in. When he heard Shen Shuyu wanted tutoring, he thought it was some new method of torture, but unexpectedly, he really studied honestly, and his progress was visible to the naked eye.
Moreover, he finally remembered where he had seen Shen Shuyu’s handwriting before.
At the hospital, that kind-hearted person had overpaid his medical fees. When the nurse refunded him, she showed him the slip. It had Shen Shuyu’s signature, but just a ‘Y’ and a small dot.
Wen Jiafei raised his hand to touch his gland. His gland was damaged; he could only smell but not sense. Could an induced heat bring about such a huge change in an Omega?
On the PK stage, the battle between Shen Shuyu and Bai Wei was underway. In the blink of an eye, both had been poked twice. For the final hit, whoever was faster would win the match.
Shen Shuyu and Bai Wei were both panting heavily. The wooden weapons in their hands had long since broken during the PK. Shen Shuyu looked toward the weapon rack again; he needed a new one.
Bai Wei had the same thought. The two exchanged a glance and sprinted toward the weapon rack. Seeing Bai Wei was about to reach it, Shen Shuyu simply took the broken half-weapon in his hand and smashed it forcefully at the weapon rack.
Like a bowling ball, the weapon rack went clang and fell, weapons and all, directly into the water.
Bai Wei’s footsteps came to an abrupt halt. Shen Shuyu’s eyes also widened. His goal had only been to hinder Bai Wei; he didn’t expect the weapon rack to be so flimsy that it fell into the water.
It was hard not to think the people outside were rushing the progress. The two of them had been entangled for nearly an hour. It would be fine if the fight was exciting and watchable, but right now, they were mostly dodging.
Bai Wei felt like he was going to die of anger at this Omega on the PK stage. “Are you sick or something?”
Shen Shuyu pressed his lips together and shrugged lightly. “If I said I didn’t mean to, would you believe me?”
Now without weapons, eliminating the opponent meant either beating them until they couldn’t stand or pushing them directly into the water.
Bai Wei felt himself going crazy. Although Shen Shuyu could tangle and fight, the opponent was an Omega, so he could only choose to push him into the water.
Shen Shuyu walked over slowly. He said, “How about we switch to a different game? Fighting back and forth is exhausting. Besides, the rules didn’t say we have to use violence on the PK stage. We’re both tired, why bother?”
Bai Wei took a deep breath. “Speak.”
“How about we play a game of luck?” Shen Shuyu said seriously. “Alpha Integrity Game. Dare to play?”
Bai Wei muttered, “Who wants to compare integrity with you?”
Then he asked, “How do we play?”
Shen Shuyu walked over, looked around, and raised his voice to ask, “Can you give us two dice cups?”
Very quickly, a robot delivered two dice cups.
Shen Shuyu tossed one to him and opened the other himself, revealing two dice inside.
Shen Shuyu said, “Compare size (high or low roll). We start right here. High wins or low wins, either works. But let’s agree in advance: the loser takes one step forward. Whoever enters the water first is eliminated.”
Shen Shuyu shook the dice, making a crisp clattering sound. “Us continuing to tangle like this is a waste of time. Better to end it early and make room for others.”
Bai Wei hesitated. He turned his head to look at the distance between them and the pool. It was only a few steps.
He bit his lower lip. His stamina had indeed been heavily consumed, and the other teams should have arrived by now. He had to last until the next round, and he would have to face several opponents later. If he continued to waste time with Shen Shuyu, even if he won, he couldn’t guarantee a complete victory in the subsequent rounds.
Thinking it over, Bai Wei nodded. “Fine.”
The two faced each other and shook the dice. After a countdown of three, two, one, they stopped.
Shen Shuyu asked, “High or low?”
Bai Wei replied, “High.”
Revealed: Shen Shuyu high, Bai Wei low.
Shen Shuyu smiled. “Sorry, a small victory.”
Bai Wei was a bit unconvinced, but he took a step toward the edge of the pool.
The game continued.
“Low!”
Shen Shuyu lost.
Unknowingly, both of them reached the edge of the pool. Shen Shuyu glanced sideways. “Deciding round.”
Both were one step away from the water.
