Chapter 99
Shen Shuyu spent a very pleasant vacation at home. These few days were truly a rest in the real sense—no urging from the System, no need to meet anyone from the protagonist team. He only needed to eat and sleep every day, occasionally playing a few games when Lin Xuyi asked.
Simply awesome!
But happy days are always short.
In the blink of an eye, it was Monday. Shen Yisi even personally drove him to the school gate. After bidding farewell to Shen Yisi, Shen Shuyu hummed a little tune and walked inside. After a few steps, he noticed many gazes falling on him again.
The gazes this time were different from before. Even when he looked toward the source of the gaze, those students didn’t dodge like before; instead, they met his eyes with a very fanatical and excited look.
…Why was this so strange?
Shen Shuyu shivered. Stopping his humming, he used his fastest yet still dignified speed to ‘sprint’ toward the Mecha Department.
Arriving at the Mecha Department, he happened to bump into Feng Xing.
Feng Xing said cheerfully, “Shuyu! Good morning!”
“Good morning.” Looking at Feng Xing, Shen Shuyu couldn’t help asking strangely, “Everyone is acting a bit weird today.”
Feng Xing laughed twice. “You’re viral now.”
“Viral?” Shen Shuyu was puzzled. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“You are the only Omega in the survival battle, and those words you said at the awards ceremony have gone crazy on social networks.”
Feng Xing never expected that the Shen family’s Little Young Master, who usually looked like he only knew how to bully people, would have a day where his reputation reversed. This feeling was truly marvelous.
And there was another thing. He looked left and right and said, “Shuyu, Chi Yanxun found his destined Omega. What are you going to do?”
Shen Shuyu glanced at him. “You know too?”
Feng Xing said, “The video of you and him from two days ago has also gone crazy in the circle.”
Everyone knew in their hearts. Although the video changed hands several times, it mostly circulated within their circle. If this video leaked out on a large scale, the Shen family would send people knocking on doors.
But the amount of information this time was indeed too big. Chi Yanxun actually matched with a destined Omega so early!
Seeing Shen Shuyu’s lack of interest, Feng Xing added, “But don’t be too sad. Actually, I also think that with your excellent conditions, you can have any Alpha you want. Why hang yourself on Chi Yanxun’s tree?”
Shen Shuyu gave two perfunctory “En”s. Seeing he had no interest in chatting, Feng Xing tactfully shut his mouth.
Shen Shuyu and Feng Xing entered the classroom. At a glance, they saw Wen Jiafei sitting in the corner reading quietly.
Here quite early.
Feng Xing was just about to ask where Shen Shuyu planned to sit when he turned his head and saw Shen Shuyu walking toward Wen Jiafei. He couldn’t help sighing for Wen Jiafei; after all, everyone knew the Little Young Master hated him.
But on second thought, in the survival battle, the Little Young Master and Wen Jiafei seemed to get along quite well. Shen Shuyu even saved him!
Watching Shen Shuyu walk over carrying his bag, Feng Xing shrugged and went to find familiar classmates himself.
Wen Jiafei had actually noticed Shen Shuyu since he entered the door. Only, seeing Feng Xing standing next to him, he thought they would sit together. Unexpectedly, Shen Shuyu walked toward him again.
Shen Shuyu lifted his chin. “You sit inside.”
Wen Jiafei moved his things to the inner seat without a word. Shen Shuyu plonked down and took out his books.
Shen Shuyu yawned, lying on the table. “Call me when the teacher comes. I got up too early; sleepy.”
Wen Jiafei pursed his lips. “En.”
Shen Shuyu buried his face in the crook of his arm with relief. But just as he closed his eyes, he heard Wen Jiafei say, “You went to find Chi Yanxun that day too?”
Shen Shuyu turned his face sideways, exposing one eye to look at Wen Jiafei. “How do you know?”
Logically, Wen Jiafei shouldn’t know about this matter, and he didn’t seem like the type to read gossip.
“Lin Xuyi sent it to me.” Wen Jiafei confessed honestly.
No wonder Lin Xuyi had been dragging him to play games for the past two days. So he was afraid he’d be sad.
Shen Shuyu gave an “Oh.” He said, “I did go find him to give him a gift, but he threw it in the trash can.”
Wen Jiafei’s gaze fell on Shen Shuyu’s face, seemingly unable to figure out why he was so calm when he clearly liked Chi Yanxun so much.
Shen Shuyu sighed. “My brother knows about this too.”
Wen Jiafei blinked. “President Shen scolded you?”
“En.” Shen Shuyu scratched his head. “Not really scolding. What could my brother say to me?”
It wasn’t a secret that Shen Yisi was a bro-con.
Wen Jiafei had nothing to say. He lowered his head and continued reading the book in his hand. Shen Shuyu, however, lost his sleepiness now. He leaned his whole body toward Wen Jiafei and asked, “How has Auntie been these two days?”
“Okay,” Wen Jiafei answered.
“Is she awake?”
“No.”
…
Shen Shuyu asked several questions in a row, and Wen Jiafei answered them all very patiently.
Shen Shuyu was quite satisfied. If it were in the past, Wen Jiafei would have turned mute by the second question.
Was this the power of friendship?
Shen Shuyu was really, very, very touched.
10:00 AM. Everyone in the academy gathered in the grand auditorium, just to present awards to the few of them.
Shen Shuyu and Wen Jiafei gathered with the main group following the teacher. Chi Yanxun hadn’t arrived yet, which made Shen Shuyu feel slightly better. Naturally, the later he saw him, the better.
Lin Xuyi greeted them enthusiastically as soon as they met. Shen Shuyu looked at He Mingyue, who was obviously lacking energy, and asked, “What did you do?”
“Don’t mention it. Rushing homework.” He Mingyue had a look of hopelessness on his face. He didn’t expect that the first thing he faced after coming out of the survival battle was that mountain of homework.
Clearly all students, the other five didn’t have this worry at all. And him! Made up homework until eleven last night!
Simply inhumane!
Shen Shuyu patted his shoulder. “So hardworking.”
He Mingyue shook his head. “Don’t want this suffocating hard work.”
Shen Xili glanced at the watch on his wrist. “Starting soon.”
One person hadn’t arrived yet.
However, the others tacitly remained silent.
Shen Shuyu also glanced at his watch. “Indeed. Wonder what kind of rewards we can get today.”
“Do you still lack this bit of reward?” Lin Xuyi asked. “I thought you lacked nothing, Little Young Master.”
“Who would complain about having too much stuff?” Shen Shuyu smiled. “Quite looking forward to the prizes. I’ll put them at home and let my brother enshrine them.”
Lin Xuyi gave a thumbs up.
The atmosphere among the five was very harmonious.
Wen Jiafei, who had been silent, suddenly spoke up, interrupting them: “Here.”
Although he didn’t say who directly, everyone knew clearly. They all looked toward the entrance. Chi Yanxun, arriving late, was walking toward them step by step.
Not only him, but a petite boy was also following beside him.
It was an Omega.
Shen Shuyu pursed his lips. Could this be Chi Yanxun’s destined Omega?
