Synopsis

A fearsome ghost-beater and charmingly oblivious Shou vs. an arrogant, protective sugar baby (not really) Gong.

Jiang Si was born with the ability to see ghosts and spirits. To avoid being seen as a weirdo, he immersed himself in the world of art. The good news was, the people he met there were artistically-minded; the bad news was, psycho capitalists are everywhere. So, after a few years of working, he decided to beat up his boss, quit his job, and go home to run his family’s joss paper store.

Every day, he watched a group of ghosts and monsters drool over the joss paper and incense sticks in his shop, and a brilliant idea hit him—he had found his new calling. He didn’t have the money to hire human actors, but ghosts don’t need real money!

The domestic horror film market was in a slump until a short horror film suddenly appeared and went viral across the entire internet. Viewers raved: “The viewing experience is incredibly immersive. It’s fantastic—a must-see for a cool-down in the summer!”

On the nth day of his career change, Jiang Si found a wandering spirit. The spirit was handsome and tall, but had no memories and was a total mooch. His heart softened, and he kept the spirit around like a little pet for company. But gradually, he realized things weren’t that simple. This spirit wasn’t just content with being a freeloader; he also wanted to climb into his bed.

“They say you should offer yourself in exchange for a kindness. It feels wrong for me to just keep eating your incense, so how about I warm your bed instead?”

Jiang Si’s face was blank. He responded with disdain, “Are you kidding? A ghost warming my bed? Do you even have a body temperature?”

Later, in an act of repayment, the spirit was torn to shreds by a malevolent ghost. Jiang Si’s hands trembled as he fed his own blood to the spirit, just to save its life, and he ended up in the hospital himself due to blood loss.

When he saw the spirit again, it had returned to its own body, a well-respected figure in Ning City’s high society. To his dismay, Jiang Si discovered that the other person remembered everything—except for him.
