I Don’t Want To Smell Your Pheromones Chapter 26

Chapter 26 – The Older, The More of a Bastard

Shen Yan was a person with an open mind; even if he knew someone was looking for trouble, he was fearless.

Upholding the mindset of “let the soldiers block and the water cover,” Shen Yan continued going to and from school as usual.

But Gu Zhuoran was not that kind of person.

He was naturally someone who was sensitive and thoughtful.

The place where he used to work had rules; he had already left, so logically they shouldn’t have been able to find him.

Why was Wu Youbin able to find him accurately, and even more accurately find Shen Yan?

Not to mention that this matter also involved Shen Yan’s secret.

Gu Zhuoran was even less likely than Shen Yan to leave it alone.

He just didn’t want this matter to interfere with Shen Yan’s normal life, so he acted in secret.

At midnight, the streets and alleys of the D9 District gradually fell silent.

The bustling street market of the day slowly turned into a deep and dangerous zone.

The lights in Shen Yan’s house finally went out, and Gu Zhuoran, leaning in a corner, extinguished a cigarette he had only half-finished.

The cigarette butt fell with sparks onto the muddy ground at his feet, where many cigarette stubs were already lying scattered about.

“Phew…”

He’s finally asleep. Gu Zhuoran let out a light breath, feeling at ease.

The things that happened during the day were always lingering in his mind. After much thought, he had come up with a possibility.

However, going there would take some time, and he was worried that Shen Yan would run around without considering the consequences, so he could only wait until he was asleep before setting off.

Gu Zhuoran waited a bit longer. After finding that there was no more movement in Shen Yan’s room, he turned and left reluctantly.

But at the moment he turned, a small corner of the curtain in the small house behind him was gently lifted.

Shen Yan, who hadn’t slept at all, stood there silently with pursed lips, watching Gu Zhuoran leave.

The person named Wu Youbin during the day was very strange.

He was obviously coming for Gu Zhuoran.

With him and Gu Zhuoran being almost inseparable since childhood, he had never seen that person named Wu Youbin.

And that person clearly wasn’t an ordinary student; he had an indescribable dark aura about him.

How did Gu Zhuoran know such a dangerous person?

But Gu Zhuoran wouldn’t say, so Shen Yan knew he was hiding it from him on purpose.

Combined with some previous events, Shen Yan finally realized something was wrong.

Where did Gu Zhuoran’s money come from? What was with that familiar doctor he mentioned? And what was with Wu Youbin?

With a series of questions, Shen Yan didn’t show anything on the surface, but he had long taken these matters to heart.

Aside from his mother, the only person he currently trusted was Gu Zhuoran.

But Gu Zhuoran was hiding things from him, which made him feel very uncomfortable.

Since the other party didn’t want to say, he would investigate himself.

He followed his usual habit of turning off the lights and “going to bed” early, and sure enough, he saw a flickering red dot at the corner outside his window.

“Bastard, this brat actually dares to smoke.” Shen Yan spoke with gritted teeth.

Smoking—that stuff wasn’t good for the body, and those who presented as Alphas needed to be even more careful about it, because their bodies would become very susceptible to infection. Smoking would accelerate the reduction of an Alpha’s lifespan, yet this brat Gu Zhuoran dared to smoke.

“Truly, the older he gets, the more of a bastard he becomes.” Shen Yan was so angry his chest hurt, yet he could only suppress his fire and wait for the person to leave.

Sure enough, after waiting for a while, Gu Zhuoran left quietly, but he didn’t know that Shen Yan also came out of the house afterward, tailing him from a distance.

Under the heavy moonlight, two figures, one in front and one behind, walked rapidly through the alleys of the D9 District.

Gu Zhuoran’s speed was fast, and slowly, Shen Yan found that he actually couldn’t keep up.

At a certain corner, suddenly… Gu Zhuoran vanished!?

A long time later one day, Gu Zhuoran was hiding in the shadows smoking to ease his worries, when he heard Shen Yan looking for him.

“A-Ran, get out here! Where are you? Don’t hide whenever something happens; are you still an Alpha or not?” Shen Yan scolded while searching.

Gu Zhuoran, hiding in the shadows, took a deep last drag of the cigarette, extinguished it, and walked out.

“I’m not hiding; I’m thinking about things.” Gu Zhuoran said.

“It was just a truthful word; what are you overthinking?” Shen Yan poked him unhappily.

But as he got closer, Shen Yan smelled a scent of cigarettes on his clothes and immediately became even more unhappy.

“So stinky!” Shen Yan frowned and dodged, throwing away Gu Zhuoran’s clothes in disgust.

“…Didn’t you not want to smell my pheromones? Then I’ll use the cigarette smell to suppress them, alright?” Gu Zhuoran felt aggrieved~

“Go wash it off, it stinks to death~ Good kids don’t smoke, understand?” Shen Yan dragged him to take a bath in disgust.

“I’ve long since stopped being a kid…” Gu Zhuoran sighed… what he was thinking in his head was 108,000 miles away from being a “good kid”~
