I Don’t Want To Smell Your Pheromones Chapter 29

Chapter 29 – This Brat is Extremely Wicked

In the early morning, Shen Yan—who hadn’t slept well all night—opened the door with a “creak.”

Gu Zhuoran, curled up by the door, opened his eyes alertly and looked up at the person walking out with a school bag.

“Yan…” Gu Zhuoran hurried to stand up.

After pondering tactics all night, his mental state wasn’t great. He swayed slightly as he rose.

Seeing him like this, Shen Yan instinctively supported him, but the words that came out of his mouth were laced with anger.

“There’s a bed you didn’t sleep in, why sleep at the door!”

Gu Zhuoran was slightly stunned, looking at Shen Yan as innocently as a child who had done something wrong.

Shen Yan knit his brows irritably, slammed the door shut with a “bang,” and walked toward school without looking back.

He cursed Gu Zhuoran for being an idiot in his heart.

Gu Zhuoran didn’t even know what he had done wrong, and he didn’t dare ask too many questions. Even more worried about Shen Yan being alone, he hurriedly followed behind.

Hearing the “tap-tap” of footsteps behind him, Shen Yan’s heart was filled with conflicting emotions; he was both relieved and angry.

Relieved because this brat Gu Zhuoran, despite hiding things from him, had ultimately come back obediently.

Angry because this kid looked submissive but was indeed hiding very important matters from him.

This contradictory, tangled mood made Shen Yan wish he could just grab Gu Zhuoran by the collar and give him a sound beating.

But he also knew that with Gu Zhuoran’s “stuffy gourd” personality, he wouldn’t say anything even if he were beaten.

Sometimes Gu Zhuoran was so stubborn it left one with nowhere to start.

He was like a clam; once he shut his mouth, no external force could pry it open.

Shen Yan walked ahead with his head down, contemplating in his heart that he still needed to investigate that clinic.

Following behind him, Gu Zhuoran frowned solemnly, looking at the Shen Yan in front of him with confusion.

What could possibly make Shen Yan so angry?

The two remained silent the whole way, arriving at school together.

Even with the previous challenge incident, the school remained as usual.

Shen Yan walked into the classroom and took his seat, taking out his theory books and completely ignoring the Gu Zhuoran following beside him.

Gu Zhuoran pursed his lips and stopped beside him for a moment, then suddenly slammed his school bag onto the seat behind Shen Yan with a “bang.”

The school building in the D9 District was old, but the classrooms were large. This “bang” startled the entire class.

Everyone turned together to look at the School Bully Gu, thinking: although he’s fierce, he never causes trouble in class. What’s wrong today?!

The boy sitting behind Shen Yan was even more bewildered, frightened out of his wits by Gu Zhuoran’s behavior.

The other student was also a presented Alpha and could very clearly feel a boundless, deep-sea-like force looming over his head.

That kind of over-the-top, powerful pheromone immediately triggered the other’s instinctive defensive awareness. An Alpha’s nature made him fear the Gu Zhuoran before him. The classmate clenched his fists, his pupils shrinking, not daring to move an inch.

Gu Zhuoran closed his eyes to let the agitation in his heart pass. When he opened them again, his cold blue eyes looked at the boy chillingly.

“Get up. Swap seats.” Gu Zhuoran’s voice held no trace of emotion, as cold as ice shards.

The boy nodded instinctively, quickly packed his personal belongings, and his legs were even trembling as he turned to leave.

Once the other person left, Gu Zhuoran didn’t sit down immediately. Instead, he took out a tissue and wiped down the desk and chair before sitting.

This fastidious germaphobia was exactly the same as when he was a child.

Shen Yan turned his head to look, muttering inwardly.

Gu Zhuoran caught the moment Shen Yan looked back and raised a shallow smile. “He swapped voluntarily. I didn’t force him.”

“…” Shen Yan looked at him weirdly and rolled his eyes hard. He wasn’t blind.

I’ll believe your ghost, you brat is extremely wicked!

[Legend of the Bad Boy – Mini Theater]

In the D9 District campus, the legend of the School Bully Gu always persisted.

Supposedly, he beat the previous year’s boss into a cripple.

Supposedly, he flattened the school bullies of other districts.

Supposedly, when he was thirteen or fourteen, he could take down four or five adult Alphas alone.

There were many such legends, but Shen Yan didn’t see it that way.

“This only proves he’s strong; it doesn’t prove he’s bad,” Shen Yan said.

“Then in your eyes, what counts as bad?” the crowd asked curiously.

Shen Yan looked at the submissive and well-behaved Gu Zhuoran standing to the side, thought for a bit, and said:

“Probably him doing dangerous things behind my back~~”

“Or him smoking~”

“Or him being disobedient~”

“Or the food he makes tasting too bad~”

“The most, most detestable thing is… he forces me to smell his pheromones!” Shen Yan frowned in dissatisfaction.

“Yan-ge, I haven’t forced you yet!” Gu Zhuoran said with a beaming smile.

“Hmph, now you’re forcing seat swaps. Who knows what you’ll force me to do later~” Shen Yan said.

“True… some things are better when forced a bit.” Gu Zhuoran gave a faint smile, looking quite proud.

Crowd: …Fuck, is this ‘bad’? This is clearly spreading hidden dog food~

Translator’s Note:

  • D9 District (D9區): The district where the characters live and go to school.
  • School Bully (校霸): A term for a powerful/delinquent student.
  • Dog food: Chinese slang for a public display of affection (xiu engan). Gu Zhuoran is so “white lotus” (pretending to be innocent) in front of Shen Yan! He literally scared that poor kid half to death just to sit behind his “Yan-ge,” and then has the audacity to say it was voluntary. Shen Yan sees right through him!
