I had a child with the main lead chapter 49.2

Part 2

“And ended up scamming yourself into the deal?” Tang Yue asked.

Liu Xichao smiled. “I’m not doing too badly now.”

He and Tang Yue looked affectionate with their arms around each other, a sight Jiang He found novel from across the way.

The little tyke walked up to Jiang He and asked, “Uncle, what are you looking at?”

Jiang He had looked like this since he was a child.

Handsome but unlikable. His appearance gave the complete opposite impression of Jiang Shulu; even his smile seemed calculating.

He wasn’t popular with animals either; Liu Xichao’s cat ran whenever it saw him.

Let alone children.

Toddlers in the Jiang family wished they could detour around him, acting as if Jiang He would randomly quiz them on advanced calculus.

Tang Mian was exceptionally cute, with curly hair and blinking eyes when he looked up. Even people who didn’t like kids would be moved.

Now, looking at those eyes and curls that were identical to Jiang Shulu’s, Jiang He suddenly felt he was going crazy. Why did the child look like Tang Yue gave birth to him for Jiang Shulu?

Livestream variety shows really go to your head. Is this self-brainwashing?

“Just looking,” Jiang He said.

“Is my daddy better looking, or Uncle Liu?” Tang Mian asked.

Jiang He: “…”

“But since you’re Uncle Liu’s boyfriend, you definitely think Uncle Liu is better looking,” Tang Mian added.

How is there a kid like this? Stealing the words right out of an adult’s mouth before they can speak?

“Do you know what the relationship is between your dad and your Uncle Shulu?” Jiang He asked.

After saying it, Jiang He felt he shouldn’t ask such a thing to a five-year-old who had lost his mother. It was rude.

But Tang Mian answered nonchalantly, “A relationship where they’re going to get married.”

“Huh?” Jiang He was stunned.

Across the way, Tang Yue listened blankly as Liu Xichao recounted his love-hate history with Jiang He, emphasizing that his inappropriate thoughts only started after he became an adult, fitting moral standards, so Tang Yue shouldn’t worry about the details.

He added, “I didn’t tell him Xiao Mie is your biological child.”

The five-year-old leaned closer to Jiang He. “Uncle, your romance isn’t passionate enough. My daddy and Daddy Shulu aren’t like that.”

Jiang He: “…”

Is this kid really five?

Why is he so competitive? Is this Tang Yue’s personality?

Though I heard Jiang Shulu was like this before he was brought back to the Jiang family.

Wait, that’s not right. Can men have children now?

And what does he mean by ‘passionate’? Aren’t those two dramatic enough?

“Our Little Yue really made something of himself,” Liu Xichao said. “So the music for that drama of mine was composed by you. I knew it.”

“Falling in love with someone you like is a very happy thing. Congratulations. Don’t worry about Jiang Shulu’s side of things. I’ve said it many times, he has eight hundred schemes up his sleeve. Just be yourself.”

He waved his hand. “See you tomorrow.”

He let go and started walking toward Jiang He, but unexpectedly, Jiang He walked over leading the two kids and a dog.

Yao Lixin was still on the phone, waving at them.

Liu Xichao couldn’t even stand to walk that short distance. He turned back and hurriedly stuffed a red envelope into Tang Yue’s pocket, shouting, “This is a make-up gift for Xiao Mie’s birth and first birthday. Don’t refuse it.”

Tang Yue didn’t know how much was inside, but it was bulging.

Liu Xichao ran over and, under the surprised gazes of passing staff, hung onto Jiang He, causing the big boss to stumble and take a few steps back to keep from falling.

Tang Mian ran over, called out “Daddy,” and looked at the red envelope Tang Yue was holding. “What’s this?”

“A meeting gift from your Uncle Liu,” Tang Yue said.

Tang Mian opened it and dumped it out. Aside from cash, there was a card with the password written on the back. It looked like enough to buy the kid a lot of ghost story books.

“Wow,” Tang Mian said. “Compared to Uncle Shulu, Uncle Liu is so direct.”

“What?”

Tang Mian shook his head and pulled a longevity lock from under his collar. “Uncle Jiang gave me this.”

“When did he give it to you?”

“Yesterday when you weren’t in the tent. Uncle said he was many years late and apologized to me.”

The child’s voice was milky and sweet, but he didn’t hide his affection for Jiang Shulu.

Tang Yue always felt his son didn’t act like a five-year-old; he seemed to know everything.

Just then, Yao Lixin walked over.

He first looked at the longevity lock, then at the red envelope in Tang Mian’s hand. Liu Xichao had even written a blessing on it, which Yao Lixin found incredibly irritating.

His competitive spirit flared up instantly. “Xiao Mie, whatever you want, Uncle will buy it for you!”

Knowing Tang Yue had things to do, Tang Mian sweetly called out “Uncle Yao” and opened his arms for a hug.

“Can Xiao Mie stay with Uncle for the next few days?”

Yao Lixin: “That’s too easy. Ask for something harder, like a house, a car, or something delicious…”

Tang Mian made a thinking sound. “Let me think…”

Tang Yue stood there for a while. Liang Yi called to urge him to pack and leave.

Tang Yue looked at his phone for a long time before finally sending a message to Jiang Shulu—

[Shulu-ge, I have something I want to tell you.]

Jiang Shulu replied quickly: [If it’s about Xiao Mie, tell me in person.]

Tang Yue: [Then I’ll say something else.]

Jiang Shulu: [Okay, go ahead.]

Tang Yue sent a four-second voice message. Jiang Shulu didn’t even have time to put on headphones; he clicked it instinctively.

Tang Yue: “I love you so much.”

Jiang Shulu froze for a moment.

Driving the car, Song Chen wished he were deaf.

It took a long while before Jiang Shulu replied—

“Me too.”

Tang Yue left with Liang Yi that night.

The car driving to the airport was driven by Jiang Xiujun. Seeing Tang Yue, he handed him a painting.

The man was indeed the same age as Tang Yue. If counted from the start of his career as an artist, Jiang Xiujun could be considered famous from a young age.

It wasn’t the horror manga Tang Yue expected, but a rather warm landscape oil painting. The frame wasn’t big, depicting a view from behind at sunrise.

You could tell it was Tang Yue and Jiang Shulu.

Liang Yi hadn’t expected Jiang Xiujun to give a painting on this occasion. She clicked her tongue, but before she could speak, she heard Tang Yue say, “Thank you, Brother-in-law.”

His voice was naturally pleasant. The words “Brother-in-law” probably thrilled Jiang Xiujun to death. He smiled brilliantly. “You’re welcome. I’ll frame it for you when we get back.”

Jiang Xiujun paused. “Are you going back to live in the mountains? You should be moving out, right?”

Tang Yue had entrusted Tang Mian to Yao Lixin, but he regretted it only two kilometers into the drive.

He had never been apart from Tang Mian since the boy was born. Halfway through the trip, he called Yao Lixin again, asking if he could pick Tang Mian up.

The result was a rejection from his own son.

Yao Lixin’s wife happened to be on a business trip at the next location, so he planned to take Yao Xuanyu and Tang Mian there to play for two days first.

Hearing they could go to an amusement park, Tang Mian was ecstatic and refused to leave no matter what.

The conversation between father and son made Liang Yi laugh out loud.

It seemed like Tang Yue was the son.

Tang Yue felt incredibly wronged. In the end, he sent a message saying, “S City has amusement parks too,” only to receive a blunt reply from Tang Mian—

“I need to make friends too! I can’t always be with Daddy.”

It was heartbreaking. Tang Yue looked utterly desolate for a moment.

Seeing his prolonged silence, Jiang Xiujun handed him the painting he had put in the car earlier.

The smell of paint was a bit strong, but Tang Yue liked it and was already thinking about where to hang it.

Jiang Xiujun’s words stunned him for a moment before he nodded. “I’m moving out. I bought an apartment in S City before.”

Liang Yi had someone contact a stylist, pondering which outfit to choose for the banquet at the Jiang house tomorrow.

She nodded too. “That apartment is still there. Are you sure you want to move there? There aren’t any suitable schools for Tang Mian nearby.”

“Have you picked a school for Tang Mian yet?” Jiang Xiujun asked.

Tang Yue shook his head. “I haven’t yet…”

The next second, Liang Yi handed him a file. “These are alternative school options.”

Tang Yue hadn’t expected Liang Yi to be so thorough. Just as he was about to thank her, Liang Yi waved her hand. “Jiang Shulu made it. I just had someone print it out.”

“When did…”
