Chapter 57 part 1

Tang Yue was currently without an agent. If Sister Lin were still around from back in the day, she would probably be having another headache right about now.

Jiang Shulu watched as Tang Yue sat in the car replying to comments and asked, “Is it really okay to say that?”

Tang Yue wasn’t actually looking at the Weibo page, but the WeChat interface. He seemed to be eagerly anticipating Tang Mian’s opinion on the egg burger.

He had never been separated from Tang Mian before, and Tang Mian had never felt the need for a phone.

Now, Uncle Yao Lixin had bought Tang Mian a phone so he wouldn’t have to act as a messenger anymore. However, Yao Lixin insisted on fairness and demanded that Jiang Shulu buy the latest model for his nephew as well.

Perhaps because Yao Lixin complained too much, Liu Xichao took a screenshot of their private chat and posted it in the group, specifically tagging Jiang Shulu.

Implying that if he didn’t buy it, plenty of other people would.

Tang Yue asked, “What problem?”

A second later, he let out an “Oh” and said, “Are you talking about my reply to the fan?”

Tang Yue looked at Jiang Shulu. “Did you not want to sleep with me?”

Jiang Shulu didn’t speak. Tang Yue tilted his head slightly. “I didn’t mean it like that… ah.”

Saying it out loud made him feel a bit guilty. His eyes darted around as his fingers tapped the screen, muttering, “Xiao Mie really doesn’t care about me at all.”

Jiang Shulu asked, “Really?”

Tang Yue: “Really, not at all.”

Even if there was something, he had to pretend there wasn’t. Otherwise, wouldn’t that be… a bit too much?

It was dim inside the car, but the streetlights outside were bright.

Tang Yue didn’t realize that his reddened ears were clearly visible to Jiang Shulu.

Jiang Shulu asked, “Then what should I do?”

Tang Yue let out an “Ah,” subconsciously turning his head to meet Jiang Shulu’s gaze.

Tang Yue stammered, “Is… is that so?”

Jiang Shulu leaned closer to him. “Does Xiao Yue really not have any thoughts?”

Perhaps because this feeling was so fresh, Jiang Shulu pushed his luck a little and asked, “Is there something I’m not doing well?”

Tang Yue: “N-no, Captain, you’re super good.”

Jiang Shulu: “Then in what way am I not to your satisfaction?”

This question was far too deliberate. Tang Yue exclaimed, “You’re playing me!”

Jiang Shulu laughed out loud and nodded. “Wasn’t this your request?”

Tang Yue felt like his whole body was about to catch fire. He hadn’t expected Jiang Shulu to have moments like this.

He seemed… a little bad.

But Tang Yue couldn’t help looking at him.

The face he had once dreamed of day and night was close at hand, saying things that made Tang Yue’s imagination run wild.

It made Tang Yue so dizzy he forgot all about waiting for Xiao Mie’s reply and hugged Jiang Shulu directly.

Jiang Shulu asked, “Does Lord Tang Yue have any other orders?”

His enunciation was different from his usual noble arrogance in front of others; the intimacy mixed between the words was enough to captivate Tang Yue completely.

Tang Yue: “Yes, go home quickly.”

Jiang Shulu: “In such a hurry to get back? We haven’t eaten dinner yet. Didn’t you say you wanted to eat chestnut duck?”

Tang Yue couldn’t be bothered to pretend anymore. “I just want to go back and sleep with you. Is that not allowed?”

He was usually silent, but easily became animated with a little teasing. Just like now, glaring at the other person with righteous indignation. “It was clearly you who hinted at it, Shulu-ge.”

Jiang Shulu: “When did I hint?”

Tang Yue: “You kissed me like that in the house just now!”

Jiang Shulu: “You kissed me first.”

Tang Yue: “I was helping you wipe your tears.”

Jiang Shulu laughed. “Who wipes tears like that?”

Tang Yue: “I didn’t have any tissues.”

Jiang Shulu: “But you just handed a tissue to a fan.”

Jiang Shulu was never easy to fool. Back then, when Yao Lixin skipped training, Jiang Shulu made him make up for it double.

Even Liu Xichao, who appeared gentle and obedient on the surface, found that throwing tantrums was useless. Tang Yue, on the other hand, was physically weak after his “car accident.” No matter how much he exercised, that was his limit, and the doctor said it might be a sequela.

So when Tang Yue said he couldn’t practice anymore, Jiang Shulu wouldn’t say much, though there was still a baseline amount of practice required.

Tang Yue couldn’t slack off even if he wanted to; if his movements weren’t up to standard, he had to start over.

Coupled with his unspeakable feelings for Jiang Shulu, being alone in the practice room with him made Tang Yue’s heart rate go haywire every time. Yet, on the surface, he pretended to be calm while his limbs flailed about—it was quite comical.

Liu Xichao stood outside like a parent picking up his son from school, complaining to Yao Lixin through the glass door: “It’s too brutal. If Tang Yue blinked at me like that, I’d want to kiss him to death.”

Yao Lixin: “Your motherly love isn’t turning weird, is it?”

Liu Xichao: “Of course not.”

Yao Lixin: “Then the Captain’s fatherly love won’t turn weird, right?”

Liu Xichao: “Even if it did, it would be unrequited. Look how scared Tang Yue is of him.”

Now, Tang Yue wasn’t so scared anymore. Since the unspoken tension from back then had been broken, he enjoyed the warmth of clinging to Jiang Shulu.

At this moment, he learned to act coquettishly without a teacher: “I just wanted to try what they do in TV dramas…”

Jiang Shulu: “Kissing away my tears?”

After saying it, he also felt it was incredibly cheesy and sighed.

Tang Yue was unhappy. “If you don’t like it, you can push me away.”

Jiang Shulu: “How could I push you away?”

He took Tang Yue’s hand, leaned over to fasten the seatbelt for him, and kissed the back of his hand in the process. “I liked it to death.”

Tang Yue: “True, you kissed me like this yesterday too.”

He reminisced for a moment. “And the very first time too.”

Jiang Shulu: “Sorry, at that time…”

Before he could finish, Tang Yue interrupted him. “It’s so strange. Is it because it’s been five years? I feel like the impression from the first time was particularly…”

Jiang Shulu: …

Tang Yue was still comparing repeatedly, giving Jiang Shulu a sense of the seriousness he had when practicing piano back then.

He didn’t know whether to be angry or laugh.

The car drove towards the chestnut duck shop Tang Yue used to talk about incessantly during their group days. In Jiang Shulu’s peripheral vision, Tang Yue looked out the window, seeming to still be in a very good mood.

The cold wind whistled outside the window, but Tang Yue didn’t care at all, letting the wind blow against his cheeks, seeming to enjoy the natural breeze.

Jiang Shulu couldn’t help but wonder, was that unsearchable Planet 9787 in the same spacetime as the world he was in now?

Perhaps it wasn’t even in this galaxy, separated by millions of light-years, or perhaps separated by millions of years.

The next second, Tang Yue’s phone rang. It was a video call from Tang Mian.

Tang Yue happily called out “Xiao Mie” and held up the phone to look at the background on Tang Mian’s side.

Tang Yue: “Why are you still out!”

Tang Mian: “I’m playing outside with Uncle Yao. The amusement park is so fun! Have you ever been, Daddy?”

Before Tang Yue could speak, Yao Lixin chimed in from the other end: “For your dad’s nineteenth birthday, your Uncle Jiang rented out the whole park for a day to celebrate for him.”

Tang Yue: “Wasn’t that arranged by the company?”

Yao Lixin laughed. “Company arrangements would definitely be fan meetings. If you don’t believe me, ask the man next to you.”

Tang Yue frowned. “What do you mean ‘that man’? Second Brother, you…”

Yao Lixin laughed even happier. “Ask your man next to you.”

Tang Yue: …
