Chapter 59 part 1
The place Liang Yi chose was quite secluded. Even when Tang Yue arrived, it was Jiang Xiujun who came out to pick him up.
The manga artist, rumored online to have married into a wealthy family, glanced at Tang Yue and smiled at him: “Sister Yi ordered many dishes you love.”
Jiang Shulu glanced at him.
Jiang Xiujun’s attitude towards Jiang Shulu was distinctly different from his attitude towards Tang Yue, perfectly interpreting what it meant to be “family on the bride’s side.”
He asked: “Does Mr. Jiang know what Xiao Yue likes to eat?”
Tang Yue: “Of course he knows!”
He answered way too quickly, giving Jiang Xiujun a feeling of frustration at his lack of reserve.
Jiang Shulu: “I’ll order next time.”
Tang Yue asked Jiang Xiujun: “Xiao Yun, aren’t you rushing a manuscript today?”
Jiang Xiujun: “I can draw it when the deadline is closer.”
Tang Yue and Jiang Xiujun’s forms of address were so intimate that Jiang Shulu asked: “Did Mr. Jiang also visit Xiao Yue often before?”
Jiang Xiujun shook his head: “It was always Sister Yi who went. After all, I was just her kept man back then.”
This was the first time Jiang Shulu had seen someone admit to living off a woman so righteously.
Tang Yue whispered an addition: “He married Sister Yi the year before last.”
Jiang Shulu couldn’t understand why a woman like Liang Yi would choose such a partner.
But a second later, he suddenly realized his thinking was still stuck in the Jiang family mode. He lowered his eyes in a panic, unaware that his grip on Tang Yue’s hand had tightened a few degrees.
Tang Yue thought Jiang Shulu was nervous and patted the back of his hand: “Don’t be afraid of Sister Yi, she’s very nice.”
Aside, Jiang Xiujun, dressed completely unlike someone who married into wealth, thought to himself: Would Jiang Shulu be afraid? Only you, Tang Yue, would think that.
On the other hand, Jiang Xiujun found it novel.
When Liang Yi first told him the person Tang Yue liked was Jiang Shulu, even a manga artist who didn’t care much about reality knew the Jiang family was a famous wealthy clan.
After searching, he found out this brother-in-law had even been colleagues with that heir.
Just what had happened to make them cut ties completely for five years?
And result in a child.
A man giving birth—that did sound very… strange at first.
Jiang Xiujun was actually a little envious; if only he could give birth too.
This restaurant was a hidden gem in the city, following a high-end private customization route with excellent views from the windows.
Inside the private room, there was a winding stream for floating wine cups, and even the dining table looked like a bonsai landscape.
It was Tang Yue’s first time in such a place. Ignoring greetings to Liang Yi, he immediately started taking photos to show Tang Mian.
Liang Yi glanced at the man who entered with Tang Yue. Jiang Shulu: “President Liang.”
Liang Yi: “Need we be so formal? It’s a private occasion, just call me like Tang Yue does.”
Jiang Xiujun was instructing Tang Yue on how to take better videos, suddenly feeling that boy band idols weren’t as all-around capable as he thought.
But Tang Yue was clearly the same age as him, yet peers being with him would generate a feeling of wanting to take care of him.
Jiang Shulu didn’t stand on ceremony and called out “Sister Yi.”
Today was a workday, so Liang Yi had probably come from the company. She was dressed sharply, looking quite different from her relaxed state on the island.
In contrast, Jiang Xiujun, sitting beside her, was still wearing loungewear, casual to the extreme compared to Liang Yi.
It was just that the feeling of him serving Liang Yi was too obvious, making Jiang Shulu look a bit surprised. Tang Yue whispered from the side: “Xiao Yun says he is Sister Yi’s pampered wife.”
Jiang Shulu: …
Does modern marriage include this mode now?
But if the partner was Liang Yi, it seemed quite normal.
Liang Yi: “When will you move all your stuff out from your old home?”
The plates on the table swayed with the flowing water. Tang Yue found it amusing and didn’t even lift his eyelids. “Wait until the variety show ends.”
Liang Yi: “And the house?”
Tang Yue: “Shulu-ge said he has another villa.”
Liang Yi took out the kindergarten materials she had shown Tang Yue before and handed them to Jiang Shulu.
She asked: “Really not planning to do a paternity test? Don’t want everyone to know Tang Mian is also your son?”
Jiang Shulu: “Tang Yue is a public figure.”
Liang Yi: “Then many people will still think Tang Mian is Tang Yue’s child with another woman.”
Jiang Shulu: “I’m still looking for other cases.”
He hadn’t been idle privately. Cases of men giving birth weren’t non-existent globally. Besides the one he had already contacted, Jiang Shulu needed domestic cases.
Tang Mian was his and Tang Yue’s child; how could Jiang Shulu not want to make it public?
But if the result of making it public was hurting Tang Yue, then Jiang Shulu wouldn’t choose it.
Tang Yue: “Cases? Are there other men on Earth who can give birth?”
Liang Yi didn’t know Tang Yue’s core secret and was used to his occasional eccentric talk. She smiled and said: “You said ‘Earth’, the Earth is so big, there must be some, right?”
“I told you when I took you abroad before, no need to be afraid.”
Tang Yue took a bite of the peach blossom pastry and gave an “Oh.”
Jiang Shulu: “Thank you, Sister Yi, for taking care of Tang Yue all these years.”
Liang Yi didn’t bother being polite with him. She asked Jiang Shulu: “Don’t you find it strange? When Tang Yue told me back then, he was afraid I’d call the police and send him for research.”
Tang Yue picked up his phone to take photos again; it was obvious he was sending messages to Tang Mian.
The young man who used to be cold and distant in front of others was now within reach.
Jiang Shulu: “I just feel fortunate.”
He smiled: “It’s wonderful to have met Tang Yue.”
Liang Yi asked again: “Have you thought about letting Xiao Mie take your surname?”
Jiang Xiujun couldn’t help but interject: “Didn’t he break with the Jiang family?”
Jiang Shulu: “Tang Yue gave birth to the child, so taking his surname is fine.”
Seeing Tang Yue busy taking photos and having no time to pour juice, Jiang Shulu poured him a glass and said: “I bear a great responsibility for this matter.”
Jiang Xiujun also knew the situation between these two and felt that from Jiang Shulu’s perspective, it was inexplicably a case of “running away with the ball” (running away while pregnant).
And the Jiang family was so terrifying; in summary, being rich wasn’t that easy either.
Tang Yue interjected amidst his busy schedule: “I was the one who slept with you, blame me.”
Jiang Shulu: “But you did have a child, didn’t you?”
Tang Yue: “But Xiao Mie makes me very happy, so happiness accounts for the majority.”
Thinking of this, Tang Yue suddenly asked Liang Yi: “What about you, Sister Yi? Do you want children?”
Liang Yi shook her head.
She smiled at Tang Yue: “So Xiao Mie will also be my heir.”
After speaking, Liang Yi looked at Jiang Shulu: “So Mr. Jiang, consider joining our Kunyu?”
Tang Yue: “Sister Yi, how can you use Xiao Mie to threaten Shulu-ge?”
Liang Yi: “Is this a threat? This is an invitation.”
Tang Yue said while eating his favorite pineapple fried rice: “Shulu-ge is very expensive. Even if I don’t understand these things, I know he’s super amazing. Ordinary people can’t afford him.”
Liang Yi: “Your sister’s company isn’t bad either, okay?”
Perhaps Tang Yue’s stance of protecting Jiang Shulu was too obvious, making Liang Yi a little sad: “Got a boyfriend and don’t want your sister anymore?”
Tang Yue let out an “Ah”: “I didn’t mean that.”
He habitually started pinching his fingers again.
Jiang Shulu: “Sister Yi is joking, you don’t need to overthink.”
His hand naturally extended over, and Tang Yue subconsciously went to pinch Jiang Shulu’s fingers.
Their hand shapes were slightly different, and with the little alien being naturally fair and tender, resting together they appeared lingeringly intimate.
