Chapter 80: Ice and Snow Domain
As soon as the cat assassin was killed, four more assassins emerged from the black mist, encircling Su Muyao.
“Careful. This woman has a powerful defensive artifact.”
“The Boss was so strong, yet he was killed instantly. That artifact is dangerous.”
“Who gave her such a thing?”
“The Master predicted she had three beastman protectors, so we separated them with the barrier. But we underestimated Miss Su herself!”
“Attack together! Kill her and complete the mission!”
The four assassins glared at Su Muyao with hatred, rushing forward with weapons drawn.
Su Muyao had already pulled a kitchen knife from her pocket dimension. Her expression was cold, her aura intense. It was as if she had returned to her battle mode from the apocalypse. In a life-or-death fight, Su Muyao would never show weakness.
She had no other weapon, so she had stored the kitchen knife in her dimension that morning. She never intended to rely solely on others for her survival.
All four assassins were Level 4 ability users. In the Beast World, Level 4 was considered a rare master.
“Your master really went to great lengths to kill me.”
“Die!”
The four charged.
They hadn’t expected Su Muyaoārumored to be a useless straw bag without any abilityāto dodge their lethal attacks with such strange, agile movements. A chill ran down their spines.
Although Su Muyao hadn’t recovered even Level 1 of her ability, she was a veteran of the apocalypse. Her combat experience was vast, her body honed to react instinctively. In battle, her body moved faster than her thoughts.
She dodged their strikesāfast, ruthless, preciseāher kitchen knife wielding as if it were alive. At the same time, she began gathering the surrounding wood elemental energy.
However, gathering it took time. And using this specific technique would leave her with severe aftereffects, rendering her extremely weak for a long time. She didn’t want to use it unless absolutely necessary.
But the black mist was strange; it seemed to block the flow of energy, slowing her gathering speed. Su Muyaoās face grew grim.
The four assassins, meanwhile, were eyes wide with shock.
“Who said she was a straw bag?”
“Who said she had no ability? Rumors kill people!”
They had prepared to fight her husbands, not her. Su Muyao herself was proving to be a thorny problem.
Still, the four of them held the upper hand in power. They had expected an easy kill, but now they had to get serious.
Just as their lethal strikes were about to land on Su Muyao, the sound of wind and snow echoed through the air.
A gale swept away the black mist, and snowflakes began to drift down.
As the snow landed on the four assassins, their movements froze. They couldn’t move.
Panic set in.
“What is happening?”
“Why can’t I move?”
They were Level 4 masters!
One of them realized the truth, his voice trembling with terror. “It’s an Ice and Snow Domain!”
“Ice and Snow Domain? Isn’t that a legendary realm of power?”
Terror consumed them.
Su Muyao, feeling the wind and snow, froze as well. She smelled the pleasant scent of ice and snowācool, elegant, otherworldly.
She looked up. Snowflakes drifted slowly, pure and white. The coolness carried a refreshing sensation that seeped into her body, comfortable and soothing. It was as if the air itself was being purified.
The dark mist faded, replaced by the sensation of a snowy day, yet it wasn’t cold.
And the captivating scent felt incredibly familiar. She had smelled it somewhere before.
Su Muyao reached out, catching a falling snowflake.
A tearing sound ripped through the air. A rift opened in the sky, and a peerlessly beautiful man stepped out.
He was dressed in white, whiter than snow, his plain brocade robes embroidered with hidden ice patterns that seemed to flow like drifting snow. His figure was tall and slender, like a jade tree. His snow-white hair danced in the wind, his robes fluttering. His skin was like ice jade or snow lotus. He looked like he didn’t belong to the mortal worldāa banished immortal with a soul of ice and snow.
As he descended, Su Muyao saw him clearly.
His temperament was cold, his eyes picturesque and aloof, magnificent and mysterious. When he looked at her, ice-blue light seemed to flash in his exquisite eyes. Like clear water, a single glance could bewitch the soul.
His face was perfection, like a lotus on a snow-capped mountain, easily stunning the heart.
Su Muyao looked at this stranger who resembled an immortal, yet his aura was so familiar that she felt no guard against him.
Did he save her?
The four assassins were also stunned by his beauty. Was this a legendary Immortal Beast?
Xie Guixue moved his finger slightly. The four assassins instantly exploded into dust, blown away by the wind and snow.
Xie Guixue looked at Su Muyao. “Miss Su, don’t be afraid. It’s over.”
His voice was moist and cool, ethereal as snow falling in an empty valley. It was so pleasant it made her heartstrings tremble. This man was so perfect he could effortlessly stir one’s heart.
But his voice snapped Su Muyao back to reality.
She asked tentatively, “Master Xie, is that you?”
Xie Guixue replied softly, “Yes, it is me. Are you alright?”
“I’m sorry, I came late.”
Had he frightened her?
Hearing it was him, and looking closely at his eyes and face, Su Muyao suddenly thought of the Ice Spirit Beast she had met in the forest that day.
Could his true form be the Ice Spirit Beast?
The realization made her heart skip a beat, and a complex feeling surged within her. She reached up to touch the ice crystal pendant around her neck. “I’m fine. You saved me!”
This pendant had saved her life. And he had arrived in time to save her again.
“It was just an artifact. As long as you are safe.”
At this moment, the Space System spoke up: “Host, that ice crystal pendant contained Xie Guixue’s power, which is why it could kill a Level 5 master.”
“And he is heavily injured.”
“This Master Xie really treats you differently.”
Su Muyao helplessly communicated with the system: “System, why didn’t you come out when I was in danger just now?”
“I don’t know what happened; I fell into a slumber. I just woke up.”
Su Muyao looked at Xie Guixue. “Your health isn’t good, and I told you not to use your ability. Let me examine you!”
He had saved her; she didn’t want anything to happen to him. Subconsciously, she cared.
Moreover, he looked even more shattered and frail now, his voice like mist and snow. It was hard not to worry.
